There's another topic similar to this but it is referring to laptops so:

I'm looking for a desktop wifi PCI-E adapter, not one for USB. Don't try to convince me, it won't happen.

The only one I can find is the Asus AC66 or AC68 which go for around 100$ and I find that excessively expensive.

By now, you'd think there would be more out there... are there?

I've seen that site but the only PCI card there is the Asus one I mentioned.

I get that AC is relatively new but I've been following the price of the Asus card for two years.

There's no reason there aren't more options out there after TWO years especially since there are hundreds of routers out there now!
