I've been having a bit of an issue with my earbuds when plugging them into my laptop. Not really sure what the laptop model is, the sticker on it says "Dell Inspiron 13 7000 2-in-1", the settings say "Dell Inspiron 13 7373", and the specs say Dell Inspiron 7370. It's about a year old now, and whenever I plug in my earbuds into the 3.5 mm audio port, the laptop continues to play the built-in speakers. This is fixed whenever I restart my computer, but I don't want to keep doing that over and over. Any ideas?

If you're in Windows 10 try going to [ Settings > System > Sound ] and changing the output device to whichever Headphones option you have.

Next, try installing the official audio drivers for your laptop from Dell.

https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=gjvc8&oscode=wt64a&productcode=inspiron-13-7373-2-in-1-laptop

These generally come with a software suite that'll be able to automatically detect plugging in something to the 3.5mm jack and switch the output over for you.

Hope this helps.

Sorry for the necro, but it didn't work. I've already resolved the issue by other means at this point though.
