Help with external GPU for VR

Go to solution Solved by Ominousdrake,

i would say that is an awful idea, you are going to waste 900 dollars on the core and rtx 2070 to have one of the biggest bottlenecks in history with that cpu. That is a Dual core wtih 3,5 ghz turbo boost . That CPU is half as powerful as the minimum recommended cpu for vr, minimum being lowest settings possible ( AMD Ryzen 3 3200G)

Hey guys I have an old Razer Blade laptop with an i7-7500u 2.7Ghz, and 16GB of ram, I am thinking of buying a razer core and pair it up with a RTX 2070. I am planning on using the settup just to play VR (half life Alyx mostly) on the valve index, but am afraid that there could be a Bottleneck of some sort. What do you guys think?
