Capture1.JPG.5e7536a9b152db1cc647f7d35df05c8d.JPGHey there,

Just take a peek  at the attachment, the problem is that i just can't understand what "local port" means.

This is an Asus router by the way but most of you will recognise the ui...

There are a lot of info on the web  about "local ip"  but, they all differ from one another so i just can't have a clear explanation on what the hell it is or how to utilise it correctly.

I use discord and play games all the time with multiple game hubs like steam, epic, bughesta and such so i can say that my rig is just an oversized, heavy-as-s**t console (this was the answer for "do you use your rig for something else?").

Thanx in advance for all you out there ;)

Local port is the port your server is listening on.  They can match, like above, or they can be different if you want something on the public side to have a different port than the internal side for the same service.

For consoles make sure UPNP is enabled, although verify it doesn't listen on the WAN port as well with tools such as 'GRC Shieldsup upnp exposure test.

On the host firewall you may also have to permit traffic towards that port from public source IPs on the Internet.

What happens if i use a port range  like 10:25000 just like the shot above, what should i put in local port? 10 or 25000?

Or....what happens if i put my address in DMZ on the router...

I don't have any critical info on my pc so  if i get hacked i would just use my images to get back on a healthy state.. Is that a considerable tactic?
