Been using this laptop without any issues for more than 2 years now. Get pretty decent performance on games like GTA 5, Doom, Forza Horizon 3&4 and other AAA games. For the last month or so, haven't been able to game as much so it was pretty much sitting at my desk, collecting dust. Started it up a few days back and noticed that the temps are unusually high (around 75-85°C) while watching a video at 4K on YouTube. Figured this probably happened because of dust collecting on the vents and stuff so I took apart the laptop to give it a quick clean. As expected, there was a significant amount of dust on the vents so I took a low-powered vacuum cleaner to clean the dust while making sure I don't aim them at the fans because I was scared I might damage them. Put the laptop back together again but the problem persisted. Tried turning on Wolfenstein New Order, a game that used to run on the highest possible settings while pushing out more than 60fps, only to see that it barely ran at 30fps, sometimes dipping below 20. Thought it was a driver issue so I uninstalled the NVIDIA drivers and installed them again. Tried running COD: Warzone, a game that I hadn't played before, only to get a very weird error that I couldn't find anywhere else on the interwebs. Contacted my Asus dealer but the COVID-19 outbreak will hinder repairs. Please help.
