Hey there,

This is a problem that I have had a few times before and I can't really check when it's solved or not. It seems like my power 'falls away', my computer does as if someone pulled the power cord from the wall. Sometimes it takes months for it to happen again, while I think it's fixed, and sometimes it happens a few times in a day (like today).

What I'd like to know is how I can determine what the source of the problem is for once and for all, because this is quite annoying (of course).

Specs are in signature if you want; also, it has happened 2 times today while playing CS:GO, but the other times that it happened, it was at a random moment.

Thanks a lot!

are you sure it doesn't have anything to do with the actual wiring in your house? as opposed to being a problem with your pc.

Could be, but I've had more pc's plugged in to this socket before for years without any problems.

(btw, how could I test if this is in fact the problem?)

What are your CPU temps like?

37 - 47 (idle) and less than 65 under load.

well if it hasn't happened before that's probably not the case, you would probably see lights flickering and similar things happening if that was the case,im assuming your system is stable under load?, if so psu is less likely to be the culprit, your pc just instantly shuts off right and dies away right? no blue screen or anything of the sort, it just goes black and the fans stop spinning?.

Yup, I sometimes see the "audio boost" LED on the motherboard stays lit for another second but then falls away too.

how long has that psu you have? I mean like since when did you have that psu?

Sicne August when I built the PC.

I don't want to rule out a faulty psu so let's try to look for other problem first before that.

oc cpu and gpu?

Nope.

That is definitely an odd issue. I would say PSU, but it is sometimes hard to test these things..hmm.
