PC Randomly Losing Power

MajorSpud

Hi all,

I've been having some issues with my computer shutting down, seemingly at random. I haven't seen a blue screen or anything, I'm just coming back to my computer to find that it's not on anymore. Here is the last time it happened, which was last night. As you can see, it's becoming more and more frequent.

The troubling thing is that I had a very similar issue with my old PC, which caused me to start over by building my current computer. It was doing the same thing, although it would start back up again instead of simply shutting off. I troubleshooted everything I could think of, but eventually decided that the motherboard had probably gone bad. The only thing left over from that build is my case and all of my storage drives, so the hardware should not be an issue.

My first thought was that there is something wrong with the outlet that I am plugging it in to. My first thought was to get a UPS, but no one else in my family has had any similar issues, so it likely isn't the power grid. At this point I'm really at a loss, so any help would be appreciated.

Here are my current specs:

  • Windows 10 Pro 64 Bit
  • Asrock B450M Pro4
  • Ryzen 5 1600
  • 2 x 4GB Crucial RAM @ 2667 MHz
  • Asus Dual GTX 1060 3GB
  • Samsung 840 EVO 250GB
  • 1TB & 3TB WD Blue HDDs
  • Seasonic G Series 650w

The original kit of ram I had in this system would only run at 2400Mhz, so I'm just happy to get the stock speeds. The performance seems to be good enough.

What does this have to do with my issue?
