Razer Comms vs. Ventrilo

I just recently got back into World of Warcraft, and my Guild Master has been using Skype for chat.  We had Vent before, but he didn't want to pay for a server anymore.  It's not like it's the greatest software anyway.  I went ahead and set up a Guild Group in Razer Comms.  

 

I've been in the process of setting up the different channels and whatnot similar to how we used to have it on Vent.  I noticed, however, that when I leave the main lobby, my name is still present as though I am still in that channel.  Does this mean during voice communications I will be in multiple channels at the same time?  If so, that's going to be pretty annoying and might be a dealbreaker.

 

I have the main lobby channel, then a channel for 5-mans, 10-mans, battlegrounds, etc.  Before I have my Guild Master download and install the software, I would like to have these little quirks figured out so it's not an issue later on.  Any help would be appreciated.   :)
