Yellow Dram led

I’m having major problems with building my first pc. Display port cable error on monitor and yellow dram led on my mobo. I’m desperate for help.

evga 650w gold psu

corsair vengeance 16g

ssmsung 860 ssd

OK, the yellow light is stuck on DRAM having a posting issue memory related.

So to start, you want to be sure the 2 memory sticks are in slots A2 and B2 and seated all the way in firmly when you hear the clicks, your in.

 

And resetting the cmos.

Yes. If the PC doesn't post to display an image the monitor just informs the user there is no input signal.

Ok this gives me hope. Thank you so much. My frustration level is going to have me chuck this thing out my apartment window lol

I've been there..... many many times lol. And some things have flown, been smashed..... I even warped a motherboard with LN2 once or twice. Shh that's between me and you lol.

I don’t know if this is anything, but what are periphery connections for on psu! I have nothing connected there

Also, the yellow light is gone. Should it be green? And should there be a sound when you turn on pc? I don’t have any beep. Does the beep come from out of monitor speakers! Thanks

There will be no beep unless you've hooked a speaker up to the motherboard. They do not come soldered on the board anymore. 

 

The Peripheral ports are for the cables that came with the PSU for HDDs or Molex connectors for fans ect. (Extra power)

Ah I think I have found the issue.

 

Core i5-9600 (3.1GHz, 65W, L3:9M, 6C rev.U0)	ALL	0805
Core i5-9600K (3.7GHz, 65W, L3:9M, 8C, rev.R0)	ALL	2203

 

In order to run the 9600 (K) model cpu, the bios needs to be updated to 2203. 

 

That means you would have to purchase an i3 8100 or g4900 processor to upgrade the bios to support the 9600K model processor.

Oh shit!!!! I’m in the bios!!! But I have display port cable in but monitor set on Mini DisplayPort. Wtf??

I’m in the bios and have windows in the optical drive. Now how do I load windows?

In bios you want to go to boot tab. Find boot over ride select the DVD drive.

When prompted from disk, hit any key to continue. Quickly you only get 5 seconds. 

The start setting up windows!

 

Glad it fired up. I was worried about the bios revision the board was shipped with. Looks like you're all good.

Omg thanks for all your help!!! Much appreciated. Why is it working on Mini DisplayPort setting on monitor when I don’t have Mini DisplayPort cable plugged in but the regular one?

Not sure thats a good question. You'll have to find the manual for the monitor to better under stand how it works.

I only Know processors motherboard Ram and some video card stuff
