So re did my of setup to be a little cleaner and tried doing some gaming with my Razer blade 2016 with the lid closed and connected to my Samsung 27inch curved 60hz screen and never had fps drops. I7 7700 hq, 16gb ddr4 ram, 1060 graphics and m.2 SSD. I repasted with some better paste and got pretty good improvement but anyway. So I was playing witcher 3 with the hd texture mod and I started noticing a little choppiness and pulled looked at my fps. Ranging from 45 to 55 but no matter how low inturned all the graphics down I could not get it to 60. Thought that was pretty weird since I never had that issue. So I checked my temps and they where pretty damn warm so I opened the lid, turned off the game and let it cool down for a bit and tried again later. Temps stayed around 70 and still I could not get my fps to 60. So I just gave up on it. Well it got weirder. I booted up fortnite the next night and started noticing it again. I was pretty agrivated because fortnites auto profile so all the specs to epic and I had never had any issued staying locked at 60. Lid was still up, temps where good, cpu and gpu not even half loaded up. So I started messing around and turned on the free sync option on my monitor. Screen turned off, and then both the laptop screen and monitor came back on and I was locked at 60fps again. I didn't know that free sync worked with Nvidia cards. But what's more weird is if I only use the monitor display in Windows settings, the fps goes down, but if I extend or duplicate them, the fps goes back to 60. Anyone else have any idea why that could be?

MODS are usually bad optimized, disable it, check if you have throttling cpu, and power management option on high performance, 80% of the time is cpu issue.

and msi afterburner is the tool to identify stutering with on screen performance indicators,
