Hey everyone! I'm going to college after few months so I won't be able to carry or set up a pc there. I need some suggestions about buying a gaming laptop between 1500-2000$. I really dont have any idea which laptop I should go with. The use of laptop would be only gaming and a bit of college work.

Thanks in advance!

Ask yourself this, do you want to cary a heavy laptop everywhere to game?

my personal recommendation is the dell xps cause it’s light and has a gpu, albeit a weak one. Just live with dropped frames and textures, but you’ll still have a great time. Some models have a thunderbolt port, so just grab your current gpu, slap it into an egpu box and you’re gaming like back home whenever you can sit down.

Agree with the first thing but a ThinkPad is a better machine than an XPS 13.

There’s quite a few options if we ignore thin and light and aim for anything new with a thunderbolt port. Also there are no gpu in xps 13, only xps 15. They both still should have thunderbolt ports.

Why not a Legion Y540 or Y740?

On the 740, you get an Intel Core i7-9750H, 1080p G-SYNC, 144 Hz, 500 nits, software enabled Dolby Vision HDR400, and if you set for 512GB SSD, 1TB HDD, and "only" 16GB of ram, you can fit a RTX 2080 Max Q in it, and get a total of $1,984.99 with the coupon CYBER5LEGION (-340$).

It's 15", not that much girth, and not too "gamery" looking, and you're basically the god of "homeworks".
