EK Connect 51 Issues

Hi All,

 

So first time post, my apologies ahead of time if this is in the wrong area.

 

I've recently watercooled my 9700k with some goodies from EKWB, and was given their new Connect 51 controller as part of their Black Friday promotion.  I'm getting the following weird error when opening the software: "Device Not Detected:  EK Connect not detected.(Yes:  Launch Anyways, No:Close Program)."

 

The weirdest part about this to me is, the controller has been working - intermittently I'll say.  When first set up, it worked with zero problems at all.  At some point, I believe after my PC went to sleep & I woke it up, I started getting this error.  EK's tech support suggested several things, none of which actually worked (reinstalling USB root hubs, reinstalling the hardware controller, different USB header, etc.).  as a last ditch effort, I updated my MB Bios - and BOOM! worked again.

For 7 days.

 

Last night, after playing TWWarhammer2 for a couple hours, I went to open the software, and much to my surprise, back to 'device not detected'.

 

I'm pretty sure I'm just going to RMA this controller for a new one, but wanted to throw it out there to see if anyone else has a similar issue?

Sorry - just a quick addition:

 

Even with the controller "not detected", it does seem to be "working".  RGB is lit up as previously setup and Fans/Pump spin, but the software won't allow me to change anything.

 

Sofware was also uninstalled/reinstalled a few times.

I have same problem i bought : EK-Quantum Kinetic TBE 200 D5 PWM D-RGB - Acetal: and my EK connect says: No device found, i cant do anything tryed everything, i updated Bios, checked every 4 pin connector in my motherboard, it doesnt even say where to connect it.

 

For now EK Connect doesnt work i cant set up pump and fans, and this is top premium stuff i cant believe realy.

Yep the software is shockingly bad, something I was not expecting from manufacturer like EK

Hi everyone,

I should've updated this - my apologies.  EK eventually sent my controller back to me, claiming it was working 100% as designed.  They could not - despite everything they tried - reproduce the problem.

 

Finally, after weeks in RMA limbo, and no real answers - EK asked me if I had other RGB Software installed on my PC.  Evidently, there's a conflict between EK-Connect Software, and "other RGB software".

 

So - for the heck of it, last time I drained my loop, decided to uninstall all the RGB software (ASUS for my GPU, Gigabyte for the MB, and Corsair for peripherals), and reinstall the controller.  Low-and-Behold, it works again!  I reinstalled corsair's RGB, and still works.  I don't really need asus or gig any longer, so didn't reinstall them.

 

BUT!!!!!!  

That doesn't mean I recommend the software.  It's still a hot piece of garbage that I wish I hadn't reinstalled.  Next loop drain, it's coming back out.

Long rant short, try uninstalling any other RGB software you have & let us know if that helped.
