Hey

At work I was asked to see if I could get some data off some hard drives that used to be a part of a old RAID, that they stopped using before I started. They stopped using because maybe one drive failed or something, nobody knows and no one knows what type of RAID setup.

It looked like this :https://www.newegg.com/p/1W8-00YM-00001

Now I have the 4 disks, unmarked as to what order they where in RAID rack(if that matters) and they RAIDON RAID rack is thrown out.

I tried putting the disks, one by one, in a HDD to USB reader, but they did not pop up as hard drives.

However I could see the drive(s) in disk management, but I was promted to initialize the disk. I didn't initialize the disks. Should do that to read the data?

I also tried some different hard drive recovery programs. One called easeUS Data Recovery. This was the only program that could see folders and files. I tried to restore some files to my PC, but I could not open them. I could not restore all files due to limitations of the free version of the program.

So anyone knows if there are any free programs that could restore the data?

We do not have another RAID rack or box.

So is there program that could clone/image each hard drive onto the PC and the use a virtual RAID to read the data?

Or any other solution or is the data lost?

Best regards

Lars
