Hi, it has come to my attention that every time I start Ghosts Steam performs the first time setup. It says that it is installing the .NET Framework v4.0, but when my PC boots up it says that I need to download it from the manufacturer. I really don't know what's going on and I've already tried downloading and installing the .NET Framework but it still keeps on showing up. If you could help me that would be great.

Cheers!

This was also happening to me when I was playing AC 3.  I'm not having that problem anymore though and I'm not sure what I did to fix it (if anything).  I would try to reinstall both the .NET Framework and the game.

Really that's over 30GBs, I don't feel like wasting another 3 days to re-download Ghosts. I'll try to install the .NET framework again, see what happens.

Sorry that I can't give you any specific advice.  I haven't had that problem for awhile.

:(, It just sucks as it takes at least 1 and 1/5 minutes to "install" the framework and it keeps annoying me when I boot my PC.

You might want to go into the control panel to see if it is actually installing a new copy every time the game loads.  If that's not the case, then you might be able to hit cancel for the .NET install and still launch the game.  No guarantees, but I think that's what I did.

How do I do that, I have no idea about this.

Go into "Programs and Features" in the Control Panel.  Scroll until you find "Microsoft NET Framework"  If you have more than one of the same version installed, then the game is probably installing it every time you launch the game.  Unfortunately, I don't know how to fix the problem.

A mod should move this thread into troubleshooting.

Nothing there, about the framework that is. Sorry about not putting this in troubleshooting, I just want to get some help. I have tried to install the .NET framework but it keeps saying afterwards that the program was not working properly and that Windows needs to close it, then after that is says that it was not installed properly and it should e re-installed. Same thing happens over and over again.

Then it appears that this might not be the same thing that I was experiencing.  Perhaps someone else has a better idea of the problem.

I found something, in the "Turn Windows Features on or off" section, under Windows Process Activation Service there is .NET Environment. It was turned off and now I have turned it on, I'll see if that has fixed it.

Edit - There is also a Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1, nothing under it is activated though, just though that would be helpful.
