So a few days ago I was trying to record a clip from a replay file in League of Legends, and as soon as I clicked record, the frame froze, and then the screen went black. I turned to computer on and off, and nothing seemed wrong until I noticed the Nvidia Control Panel was missing. I figured I could just uninstall and reinstall the drivers for my GeForce GT 640, so I removed it from the device manager, uninstalled all programs accosiated with Nvidia, and finally went to remove the NVIDIA Corporation folder in the Program Files folder. I was using an admin account, but windows kept telling me I needed permission to view or alter the contents of the folder, which led me to refresh my pc, thinking this would get rid of the folder and give me a fresh installation of windows and save my files. I was very wrong. When the refresh finally finished, the stat button was missing and in the start menu the power button was missing. I was also unable to find the device manager or control panel. When I signed out, the screen went black (but the monitor was still on), and stayed this way. When I turned it on and off I still had the same issue. Any advice? Also I'm using windows 8.1.
