Issue with dual monitors

Go to solution Solved by KingDonkus,

So after a lot of searching and updating all sorts of drivers I believe I have figured out my problem. I only write this in hope one day someone with the same problem will see this and it'll help them. So I updated my nvidia drivers right before I started having the problem and rather the drivers had a bug or I some how downloaded the notebook version of the drivers. So my system would work but after using a program or I'm assuming any real graphical processing it would lock up which ever screen was not currently active. I rolled my drivers back to a couple generations, did a clean install (deleting all old versions) and all my problems have gone away, everything seems to be back to normal and working very well again.

Hello,

New to the forum so sorry if I miss something, but I'm currently having an problem with my dual monitor set up that i've never encountered before. After closing out of a game(mostly MTGArena and Destiny 2) sometimes the other monitor that is not being used will not allow my mouse cursor to move to that screen and will freeze on the boarder of the screen that is still working. But even the screen that is still working will be lagging and/or my mouse pointer will be stuck in other pointer indicators. I can remedy it by turning off one monitor or going in to display options and changing the options for multiple displays and then reverting back to extended.

This issue has randomly popped up after the computer has been sitting idle too, its very random and doesn't seem to follow a pattern, just happens more often after closing out of a program.

It seems like it all started after updating the Nvidia Drivers to I think 431.36, since then I've gone through and updated all drivers i could think off, done windows updates and even did a clean install of Nvidia drivers to the most current one. I've done some google searching and i've only come across some info about it being a windows bug but that was from a couple years ago.  I'm at a loss of what it could be, bad graphics card?  Bad cables?  Not the right drivers?  I've had this set up for over 6 months with no problems before this.

My specs:i7-9700k, 32gb 3200 G.skill ripjaw V series Ram, Strix z390-E gaming mobo, rtx 2080 zotac Amp, evo 970 500gb(boot drive), 500gb inland ssd and evga 750 Gold+ psu

Monitors are both identical 27inch S2716DG AO9

Any Help would much be appreciated. Thank you
