From my experience, an AIO pump would be sufficient, but be aware that the pumps flowrate is far lower than a normal pump.

As I wrote, my AIO has the 6th gen. pump, which form the looks of the pump design helps.

The worst part was getting all the air out of the system.

thanks for the info

not sure if this is the best place to ask...but cant think of a better group to ask advice from

long story short: i need to cool down 3 nema17 stepper; but I have no idea what pump to use; i am hoping to drop the temp down by ~10-20 degrees...guessing any basic pump should do but i want one that is silent (~20db), as its in my home office.

what would you guys recommend ?

TIA

"Cheap" and "watercooling" doesn't go well together :D I'd just get some regular stepper heatsinks (http://3dmodularsystems.com/en/electronic/139-heatsink-for-nema-17-stepper-motor.html) and quiet fans for air cooling. This will be cheaper and propably quieter than watercooling, because you'd need fans anyway. But if you already have radiators and some waterblocks for the steppers, you'll be good with pretty much any DDC or D5. DDCs are less expensive, D5s are slightly quieter.

the nema are in an enclosure to print ABS... not sure heat sinks will do much

There are some pretty cheap generic aluminum waterblocks on amazon and aliexpress. They usually come in 10mm increments. So for a Nema 17 you can get some 40x40mm blocks and for mounting brackets: you have a 3D printer, CAD some up and make them :D. Together with a cheap aluminum radiator (a slim 120 will propably be enough, but to be on the safe side I'd get a 240mm). Together with a good pump and some quiet PC fans you'd have to spend about 150$, with the fans and pump being the majority of the cost.

i already have STL's for the water block ? was looking this AIO https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07CNXHYJ2/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A3DWYIK6Y9EEQB&psc=1, thinking of just pulling out the water lines to add some 40mm block in between and use the pump in the CPU block.,..i should be able to just splice the power cables

Yeah, that would work too. Yesterday @MiniMike DKposted his modded AIO to include a GPU waterblock and a reservoir in this thread, he might be able to give you some advice:
