Hey all!

So I'm currently in the market for a second laptop. I already own a Lenovo Legion Y530 and it works well. However, I'm wanting something more powerful for my second machine. I was looking at the Origin EVO 16-S, but then I noticed that the Sager NP8966 NOTEBOOK uses the same Clevo chasis. The prices are ridiculously different, too.

Base model price (at the time of writing):

Sager:

$1549

500gb SSd

16gb RAM (Dual Channel I think?)

144 hz 16.1" display

Rtx 2060

9th gen i7 9750H

Origin:

$1824

240gb SSd

8gb RAM single Channel

144 hz 16.1" display

Rtx 2060

9th gen it 9750H

There is a pretty obvious Origin tax. Is there any reason on God's green earth that someone would pick Origin over Sager for that kind if a premium? (Customer service aside)

I've owned a Sager laptop in the past and LOVED it. I'm fairly comfortable applying quality thermal paste and making sure everything on the inside of the laptop is plugged in properly (like WiFi cards, keyboard ribbons, etc) so that doesn't worry me.

Also, I think it would be very interesting if LMG made a video on this topic in detail. I legit want to know if there's any value in paying a brand tax like this.

Thanks!
