Windows player freezing pc

Hello,

 

So the windows 10 movie player thing will sometimes freeze up my pc. I can still move the mouse but I cannot click on anything. I cannot alt f4 or open task manager and stuff. Even if I let it sit it will just stay like that. Its really annoying when I am looking through my clips and then it freezes my pc. I have to restart to fix it. Does anyone know how to stop it from freezing?

First I do not recommend window movie player because of its very limited codec,

Potplayer /TCL are much better option.

 

it may be other issues too, yet too little info to diagnose. 

(eg disc 100%/ cpu overheat etc)
