Is an AIO / Closed Loop water cooler necessary to OC the 9900K at 5.0ghz?

Is my Cryorig H7 Quadlumi Aircooler enough or do I need to change to an AIO?

The H7 isn't going to be enough unless you power limit the 9900k down to 95 Watts, and have the CPU only run at about 4.1-4.2GHz on all core Turbo.

I would suggest that you get a better cooler to keep temps under control on that CPU.

I used to have a custom loop but went back to aircooling after upgrading my GPU.
