Framerate issues since latest NVIDIA drivers

As soon as the new drivers came out that enable freesync monitors to run with NVIDIA cards, I downloaded and installed (DDU, the lot). Took a bit of tuning, r/PCMR was a great help, and it worked flawlessly. For like 2 or 3 days. Nothing has changed and now I get very minor but annoying screen flickering, and terrible framerate in any games (even Runescape). They're unplayable. I turned GSYNC off, it's slightly better but still unbearable. I've reset my monitor, clean installed the drivers again, still the same thing. Any ideas?
