I really doubt that they are exactly the same since they are priced differently. I am not that knowledgeable so i would like to know if i could save by getting a 2600 instead of a 2600x and get the same performance.

OC performance, they are the same. a 2600X is a slightly binned 2600. both will reach 4.2ghz with ease, 4.3, not so much.

Have a friend who has a 2600 in a HTPC and a 2600X in his main PC, both are at same clock, but the 2600 actually runs on a lower voltage.

Thank you,

Will get a 2600 chip since at 4.1-4.2 i would be happy.
