Hey guys, I have a Dell XPS 13 9310 from 2021 where the battery is draining incredibly fast considering the workload. We are talking a few chrome tabs and a word document (See attached image). Has anyone encountered this issue or has any tips? The dell software ranks the battery health as "good". Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

Hi everyone, I'm in some sort of an impasse, my XPS 13 9370 (i7 8550u, 16GB, 4k display) hasn't seen any maintenance in about 2 years (it was my dad's and I bought it from him at half the price) and the temps have been getting higher, idleing at 50° and under light load at 60°. Now, of course I'm going to get rid of every possible bit of accumulated dust I see, but my main question is should I get the Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut for repasting the CPU or should I get the Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut liquid metal and give it a shot? (Also, I'll be switching the thermal pads from stock to Thermal Grizzly Minus pad 8's for better results)

I'm gonna use it for media and it needs to be sleek. I identified the XPS as a good laptop and need to know an answer to the title Also if there is any other good laptops that fit the criteria pls let me know

So in September I'll start University (engineering for now) and I need to move to an other city, so I'll live my actual rig to my brother and go buying a new portable setup to help me with the study and for some casual gaming. So far I've listed tre option, sorted by preference: Dell XPS 13 with i5 or i7, 16GB + External GPU + Monitor Asus Zephyrus G15 GA503 with 5800H, RTX 3060, 16GB (+ Monitor?) Apple MacBook Air/Pro (idk yet) + Monitor + GeForce NOW The first one I would have already bought it if not for the GPU shortage. About th second one I don't intend to bring a whole gaming laptop in class if I had the chance not to, plus this model is the only in my country and still not available. On the third one, I'm not an apple guy, but these last macs got me and may fall for them if other options don't come up (even if I'm still sceptical about cloud gaming). The monitor I thought something like the 1440p 144Hz by LG or TUF. The main thinghs I need form the laptop are: Battery life Screen (mostly color accuracy) CPU Lastly while I would like to do some 3d works, along with graphics and video editing, I'd put first single-player games (Tomb Rider, Star Wars, Assassin's Creed) and mainly R6S and Valorant for the multiplayer side. I would like to ask anyone for their opinion on these configurations and if any other ideas come up, I would really like consider them.

Hi guys, i recently bought an XPS 13 9310, the FHD one, but i just noticed that only the 4K one has hdr certification. YET they both have the exact same nits (500), so my screen should support hdr without too much harm, so is it a way to force it ? And I also encounter a problem because I seemingly cant have my screen go all the way up to 60 hz ? like it just sets itself to 59,950 hz according to windows and if i change it directly from the display settings to 60, it will go back to 59 automatically, is it normal ?

Hi, I'm currently looking for a laptop to use in the computer science classrooms. I don't know if I should wait for Framework to open shipment to my country (Italy) or wait for the new generation of Intel laptop chips or just buy the XPS 13. If anyone can help me with this choice or recommend me other laptops, I would be grateful.

Hi guys, I'm an international student, and I have to buy a new laptop for school. My requirements are light weight, USB c charging, light gaming capability, and good overall quality. My budget is under 1000 USD, but I couldn't find a laptop that combines all of these features all in one. I was thinking about the xps 13,but it doesn't have a dedicated gpu, and that of course will not allow me to do basic gaming. On the other hand, I was thinking about the magic book or the huawei matebook d. So tell what do you think please or if you have any recommendations just drop them. Thanks in advance guys.

I will be purchasing one of these devices for college. After some research and comparison I noticed something that I am quite confused about. I noticed that the 2019 Xps 13 specs out at a 6 core Cpu. The 2020 dell xps 13 not only specs out at a 4 core, It is for the a very similar price as a the 2019 6 core. Is there any good reason I should be aware of as to why Dell is no longer offering with a 6 core, cause as it stands I am leaning towards the 2019 model, but it just seems weird that they would make the laptop less powerful for the 2020 model. I do realize the ram is of much faster speed in the 2020 model, And I do love the display being 16.10 in the 2020 model as well. Does anyone have reasoning as to why I should go with the 2020? Here is the comparison: Dell Xps 13 2019: $1,349.99 10th Generation Intel® Core™ i7-10710U (12 MB Cache, 6 Core, up to 4.70 GHz) Intel® UHD Graphics with shared graphics memory 16 GB, LPDDR3, 2133 MHz, Integrated 512 GB M.2 PCIe NVMe Solid-State Drive 13.3-inch FHD (1920 x 1080) InfinityEdge Non-Touch Display Killer™ Wi-Fi 6 AX1650, 2 x 2, Bluetooth 5.0 4-Cell, 52 WHr, Integrated battery Dell Xps 13 2020: $1,322.99 10th Generation Intel® Core™ i5-1035G1 Processor (6MB Cache, up to 3.6 GHz) Intel® UHD Graphics with shared graphics memory 16GB 3733MHz LPDDR4x Memory Onboard 512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe Solid State Drive 13.4" FHD+ (1920 x 1200) InfinityEdge Non-Touch Anti-Glare 500-Nit Display Killer™ Wi-Fi 6 AX1650, 2 x 2, Bluetooth 5.0 4-Cell Battery, 52 Whr (Integrated)

Hi everyone, I apologize if this question has been asked before but I am having a bit of trouble with my XPS 13. The laptop is fantastic for the most part but the sleep mode seems to cause a really big drain on the battery. Now the only point of reference I have is the Macbook Pro retina that I switched from. When the lid was closed on it I could come back hours later and very little battery had been drained but the XPS battery seems to drain really quickly and I am wondering if there is a simple way to fix it. I did a bit of a Google search and it looks like quite a few people have encountered this but I couldn't find an obvious fix. If anyone has a good idea of how to solve the issue please let me know. Thanks very much. Richard

So I wanted to connect my bluetooth earbuds to my xps 13. and for some reason I cant. I can select the earbuds as a device to connect to but the moment I connect it does one of two things and sometimes both. It disconnects and has "Paired" under the device name and doesnt allow me to connect again It stays connected but No audio will be sent to the earbuds the audio still comes out of the speakers. I've had this problem with bluetooth speakers before. So Im wondering how I can get this to work cause I really dont like being tethered to my computer while on my computer cause I hate cords. Thanks guys =P

Last night I heard a weird sound coming from my new laptop, it sounds kind of like a hard drive, a little researched and found out its coil whine. it sounds like its coming from the m.2 SSD. Has anybody else had this issue and has anybody replaced the m.2 ssd and resolved the issue? Not sure if I want to return the laptop, the sound is not very loud doesn't really bother me because it usually occurs when watching videos.

Hello together, I will start studying computer science in september and I need a Laptop for it. The Laptop is only for University, I have a Desktop for Games. I wanted to stay below 1000€, but I couldn't find something I like and now I think the XPS 13 is good for me. But it is hard to decide between the XPS 13 [i5-7200U, 256GB SSD, 8GB Ram] (1200€) and XPS 15 [i7, 256GB SSD, 8GB RAM] (1475€) My pros for XPS 13: 1,2Kg 60Wh battery My pros for XPS 15: Quadcore GTX 1050 Ability to upgrade RAM and SSD Cons for XPS 15: Price only 56Wh battery I have a XPS 15 with i7 against a XPS 13 with i5 because the XPS 15 with i5 is 100€ lower tha i7 model, but only has 32GB SSD and a HDD. Also the XPS is configurated with a fingerprint reader, it costs 26€ extra, but that's woth it for me

Hey guys, I've been searching online but I've not found a single reliable guide. So I thought to asking here. My laptop is Dell XPS 13 9350. I have just done a battery report using powercfg in cmd. It reveals that my laptop's battery full charge capacity is 62% of its original design capacity. Did my laptop battery degrade or is it just a battery optimisation issue? I left my laptop plugged in 24/7 since January because I have been using it docked by displaying it to an external monitor, a mechanical keyboard plugged in, and a wireless mice connected through a wireless receiver. First screenshot (battery1) shows the overall report. Second screenshot (battery2) shows the deterioration of the full charge capacity since January.. Can anyone please help me? What is the cause of this battery capacity deterioration? What is the best practice to preserve the battery state for as long as possible? Do I have to buy a replacement battery?

So i bought this laptop, XPS13 9350 from dell on October 2016 after hearing the praise this laptop got online as well as in other sources. Right after a month of buying and using the laptop there was an issue where the power indicator would just flash repeatedly. Dell thought this was a small issue and replaced the entire mother board, display and the SSD drive (IDK why) and called it a day (this was not charged cause it is covered under the laptop's 1 year warranty. The issue was obviously fixed. But again around August of 2017 the same issue returned where now there is no indication of power at all. Dell fixed this again by literally changing the whole mother board, some LEDs, power indicator and the battery(again IDK why). This time I got angry as anyone who spends soo much on a laptop will be, and so I asked for a replacement unit and the case got escalated to the services director of my country and it was denied of a replacement. All fine for about a week and a half and again there is no power on the laptop and this time dell wants me to go the some service center to get this laptop checked. What i have learned from this experience is the Dell sucks don't buy their products even if it is good looking and tempting to buy.

So recently I bought a Dell XPS13 (2016 version, w/ Kabylake) and I am happy with it (it looks very nice and fits my needs perfectly), but I have one problem. The only output for external displays goes through the USB-C Thunderbolt port, which works fine under Windows but not on Linux. I use Dell's DA200 adapter (which wasn't cheap) and the HDMI port doesn't give a signal. The screen is detected in the OS, but it won't receive signals. VGA, USB3.0 and ethernet seem to work fine. After trying Ubuntu (usb-c port didn't work) and Mint (standby resume issues) I'm running Fedora 25 (kernel version 4.8.6-300 if that helps) currently. After some reading it seems like Thunderbolt 3 and Linux isn't the best combination out there yet, but there are others saying it works fine for them and it seems to vary between adapters and linux distros. The adapter I have does not work with HDMI, but I found this article using a different adapter saying it works fine (he has the Skylake XPS13 though) for him. Is it worth trying this adapter; what are the chances it'll work? I'd rather not waste my money on trying tons of adapters as this laptop cost me enough already TL;DR Dell XPS13 2016 Kabylake version USB-C to HDMI not working with Dell's DA200 adapter under Linux (fine in Windows), is it worth trying other adapters like the one mentioned above or Dell's own USB-C to HDMI? I'd rather not end up with a basket of adapters that all don't work and having wasted my money Thanks for your time

I am trying to decide between getting a Dell XPS 13 or a Razer Blade Stealth. With the XPS13 I would get the i7 with the 3200x1800 screen. With the Blade Stealth I would get the i7 with the 4k screen. Storage size doesn't really matter to me. I would mostly be web browsing, editing music and photos, and playing some less demanding games like Garry's Mod and Portal. I need a 13 inch laptop to fit in my bag, and to not be too large to take everywhere, and I mean everywhere.

Hi, So my Dell XPS13 has just gone kaput! Specced out with an i7 8550u, 16GB RAM, FHD and 256 SSD. It is now out of warranty and Dell have quoted me ~£560 for a replacement motherboard. Now, they had told me they can repair it for £160, which obviously I opted for as a 'no-brainer', but to my surprise I found that they had just replaced the mother board with a lower speced i7 7500u, 8GB RAM. I did complain obviously, and now I have 2 options; get the board replace for ~£560 for the same spec or keep the lower spec.....I've already noticed the lower speed when using it for an hour or so... due to an error I am hoping they replace the board for the price I paid for the 'repair' but i know that's wishful thinking!.... any suggestions? anyone had any similar issues with Dell....or the XPS 13?

Alright, so I found a cheap XPS 13 9343 that i bought recently, it took a bit of work but I fixed it up a little bit but in my search for parts to fix the defective stuff on this laptop i noticed the XPS 13 9343, 9550, and 9560 all shared extremely similar chasis (the palm rest changes in terms of having a type C port between the 9343 to the 9550), and even their motherboards look very similar. Since my own is only 8gb of RAM and no type C port, would it be as simple as swapping out a new motherboard, and palm rest for the ports to upgrade my CPU and RAM?! Would it work? Does anyone know?

I have an XPS 9365 with a core i-7. Since the device uses integrated graphics I have not found many games that run well. I have tried the common ones like Fortnite and Apex but these don't run well.( i get a max of 30 fps on ultra low settings) Does anyone have any recommendations of what games to play or how to make games run faster? Thank you Felix

Hello guys, My name is Juan, I'm Colombia, new around here and was wondering, is it possible that you give me a hand with this decision? I'm a financial engineer, looking to replace my 5th gen Dell XPS 13. My work is mostly Excel Sheets, but I also use my laptop when I'm home to do regular stuff: Netflix, Youtube, answering emails, nothing thats too heavy. If you had to choose between the 2019 XPS 13 and the Lenovo X1 Carbon for an everyday ultrabook, which would you go with? I hope you can help me, thank you very much for your time!

Hello everyone, I've been here, quite a while now and decided to make a topic on one of my thoughts. I've recently bought the Asus Zenbook Flip 14(UX461UN) and to my little knowledge, it came with some issues. I would say that 2 of them got me to the point of RMAing the device. The first and obvious one was the coil whine, and the second was the distorted sound, even though the laptop is fairly new(bought in September). Other than that, I was happy with the device, although I understood that touch functionality wasn't THAT important for me, but nevertheless it was quite useful for some online lectures that I did. So, while I am still waiting for that RMA to return, I've made some plans and would like to have your feedback. If the RMA won't fix the issues, I am thinking of selling the laptop and add some budget(~200-300 euros) for a better laptop. Upon search, I found that the new XPS 13(9380) is quite attractive(still waiting for Linus to drop a review). I would like some more recommendations for thin-and-light laptops, or 2-in-1's that you would suggest. P.S In case you need more details, the work I'll do on this device consists of web+app development, virtualization and some light photo and video editing. P.S 2 I am also waiting on the Dell XPS 15 9580, to find out what they've improved.

Hi there! I am looking into buying a new 13" laptop, preferably 2-in-1. Budget is up to £1500. I was thinking about the Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 or the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga, with an i7, 16GB RAM, at least 512GB NVMe and ideally I would like to go for a 1080p touch. The last criterion points to Lenovo, as far as I know they are the only ones that offer this screen combo, which I think would benefit battery life. Do we have any idea about the performance of these two, compared to each other, especially since the Dell have the 10th Gen i7s? Also, which one do you think has the best build quality, especially regarding the hinges? I am afraid of the accidental drop and/or an eventual loosening of them. Thanks for your help in advance!

So I've had my Dell XPS 13 for a while now (I bought it refurbished to save some cash) I've recently tried to use my Bluetooth earbuds with my laptop, but after it pairs with my earbuds they immediately disconnect and save the earbuds as a "paired" device, instead of saying "Connected" I think it has something to do with the Dell audio program that manages all the audio from my system but I don't know how to add a Bluetooth headset to Dell's proprietary program. I also had to reinstall all my Bluetooth drivers and wifi drivers a while ago so they should be able to pair. because my keyboard and mouse both pair to the computer fine. has anyone else had this problem? and how should I solve this. Thanks all!

I'm looking to buy a ultra book for my everyday use, which is lots of tabs (30+) + excel + light photo editing for social media I'm going with ultra books just because of their premium builds. I've shortlisted 2 Options. 1st Option - https://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B076N6K19D/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A31IW80MLISZMQ 2nd Option - https://www.compuindia.com/dell-xps-series/new-xps-13-xps13937058256is.html ( i7 8th gen model with 16 gb ram and 512gb ssd ) I'm looking for a ultrabook with these four things being most important: Good battery life 8+ hours Graphics card no worse than an MX150 16gb of ram A quad-core i7 processor (I'm especially having a hard time being willing to sacrifice this one) Budget: $2500 (USD Approx) Because everything is heavily taxed in India PS: XPS line has coil whine issue and Spectre X360 15 seems to be a toaster, runs pretty hot and fans makes a lot of noise even on moderate usage

Hi Guys I'd like to buy an ultrabook and Ive been reading a lot of reviews about XPS 13 and Razer Blade Stealth, which are my favorites, however looks like these Ultrabooks have several issues like coil whine/fan/noises/heating (XPS 13), charging/screen/wifi issues/heating (Razer). I would appreciate if you could share your personal reviews and comments/opinions about these machines/issues... If you think it is not a good idea to buy these Ultrabooks, could you please suggest some alternatives? I am looking for ultrabooks with at least i7 (quad core would be great) 16gb ram, ~256gb SSD and premium build quality. I don't care about a dedicated graphics card. My budget is USD1700 and I am planning to buy it in the next week's in NYC. Thank you so much!
