Hi all, Is it possible to replace a "1024 × 768" laptop display with a "1920 × 1080" model? The laptop is a Toshiba Tecra z40-a-16z, and I have found full HD replacement screens on ebay. The basic questions are: 1. Will the higher resolution screen be supported in terms of connectors, display adaptor, motherboard etc? 2. Will the i5 4310U processor cope with the extra strain of maintaining the higher amount of pixels? 3. Has anyone tried this before, and do you have any advice? Finally this is more of an "is it possible" question - I'm less concerned about cost effectiveness e.g. i'm aware it may be more sensible to just buy a new laptop. Thanks in advance, Dominic

So this is a question that I haven’t been able to find an answer for. Will enterprise grade networking hardware work in a windows environment? For example, could someone purchase something like supermirco’s AOC-S25G-m2S network card https://www.supermicro.com/products/accessories/addon/AOC-S25G-m2S.cfm and drop it in a desktop pc, purchase a second one for another PC and get the transfer speeds that are advertised? Would window even detect it? Would it know what to do with it? Could you in theory get a pair of banana’s 100gbit networking cards and connect 2 desktop PC’s with them at full speeds? This is purely a would it work question, please don’t reply with “no one would ever need it” or “it’s not worth it / feasible” Thanks in advance

Will this ram work with these components?
Me1bourne posted a topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Hello! My friend has G4620 and Gigabyte H110M-A motherboard. I want to give him my old ram which I purchased in 2015 - Kingston DDR3 1333 mhz 16gb I have few questions: 1. Will it work good on 1333 mhz? 2. Can I oc It to better speeds? i.e 1600 or more. 3. Will be there a big difference between 8gb DDR4 (which we should buy then) vs this DDR3 1333 16gb memory? 4. If it won't work, can you please recommend me good inexpensive 8gb ddr4 ram? This: CPU Mobo RAM Thank you -

I Understand that this CPU does not have integrated graphics and will therefore not be able to play games, but that is not the point right now. I am a first time builder who will be selling 2 Apple computers in order to fund it. I know exactly what parts I want to put in the computer but by the time I have gotten rid of my other computers (hopefully this weekend) the graphics card I want (EVGA 1080 FTW Hybrid) does not seem to be available. For the time being will I be able to build the rest of the PC and use it just for browsing the internet and watching mkv files on vlc without a dedicated GPU or will that not work because a PC requires some kind of graphics card be it integrated or discrete? The machine will eventually be for playing games, editing videos and hopefully even some game creation when I learn how, I just don't want to have nothing while I wait for the GPU to be available.

I saw a video on Linus' channel where he cut off a bit of a Graphics Card so I'm curious Will a GTX 750 TI SC (http://www.amazon.co.uk/EVGA-GeForce-Superclocked-Graphics-DisplayPort/dp/B00IDG3IDO/ref=sr_1_2?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1457550577&sr=1-2&keywords=750+ti) work with my ASUS P5B Motherboard (https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P5B/) (My PSU is 350w, will it be fine also?)

Before I go all in, I would love some final checks on my build to make sure what I am ordering and building is worth it and can't get much better. If you have any concerns or questions, list it below and I will answer the best I can. Please provide GOOD feedback and let me know if everything is compatible and will work eventually. Also, is it a beast? Do I have enough ports, slots in my power supply? What else should I get? A few of these items I already ordered so lets hope I'm set! Hey peeps, I've got an Enthoo Pro M that says it supports 280mm. I've got an i7 6700k (1151 socket, I believe?). I'm curious if the H110i will come with a proper mount. Just trying to be safe here http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835181094&cm_re=H110i-_-35-181-094-_-Product ps; Choosing Corsair for the possible chance of damage claim replacements in the event the AIO apocalyptically fails.

Let me start off, by saying I'm an idiot at networking. I am clueless. Right now, I'm on a wireless connection. It is not ideal, and I'm going to attempt to make the switch to wired. I don't have any Ethernet ports where I want them and an extremely long cable that stretches across my house isn't something I'd like to do. I've heard of something called an Ethernet to PowerLine Adapter. No need for a router or anything. Just plug it into a wall and you've got internet. Does that actually work? Or am I mistaken on what it is? Once again, sorry for my lack of knowledge on this stuff.

Well i'm thinking of upgrading my PC but i'm a complete noob when it comes to PC so i was wondering if the setup im going for will work with no problems and if it will be good for gaming. Key: Red text= I am upgrading to this. Green text= this is an existing component. Motherboard: MSI H87-G41 PC Mate S1150 Intel H87 DDR3 ATX CPU: Intel Core i5 4440 3.10GHz Socket 1150 6MB Cache Retail Boxed Processor GPU: Asus GeForce GTX 760 DirectCUII 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card RAM: 8GB DDR3 (not sure what make or if that even matters) Hard Drive: 2x500Gb OS: Windows 7 If more information is needed just ask and i will supply, and the reason this is in the troubleshoot section is because i'm not sure if all of these parts will work together so i don't want to buy them and realise that they don't work together.
