Hello all! Thanks for clicking in this post. I have recently bought a second hand PC, which basically consists on: Gigabyte X99 UD5 WiFi i7 5930K 32GB Kingston FuryX 2133 GTX 980 Ti G1 A couple of SSD, 500GB and 1 TB Seasonic 1200W Platinum Fractal R5 Case I'm super happy with it coming from my old and reliable i7 860, but I'm having a problem with this machine waking up after trying to send it to sleep in Windows 10 (updated to the latest 2020 version, actually fresh install from media). My PC is in my bedroom so I use the sleep feature a lot not to lose the progress of my work when needing to switch it off and on. I initially played around with overclocking and had fun getting it to 4,3 and 2400 GHz, but then noticed that I could not get the computer to wake from sleep normally. I OC'd the machine right away, so can't tell if it worked before but I'm gessing not as I will say later I have since reset the BIOS a couple of times. Sometimes it would turn on the light on the case and work for around half a minute to then turn itself back off without notice It can also turn on for around 3-5 secs and then turn off again. It will keep in this challenging state for quite a bit of tries. I have reset the BIOS (clear CMOS) a couple times since the incident to see if any of the overclock I did had to do anything with it, but to no avail. The only settings I modify are the Virtualization tech needed for Android emulators. VT-x. I also enable VT-d but not really needed. I have found that if I switch the power supply off with the button on the back, and turn it back on while pressing the power button on the case it will boot to windows normally. There is a setting in the BIOS under Power configuration that says S3 Save status, which is disabled by default. I tried enabling it hoping it would help but again no real improvement. I havel also tried enabling and disabling the W10 hybrid sleep option in the power settings, but I am a bit lost at this point. I thougth this would be simpler, but heck no. I would greatly appreciate any helps and tips, maybe somebody can help me sort this thing out. Thanks in advance everyone.

First of all I am not 100% sure if that's the correct place to put this topic, so please excuse me if I made a mistake. Thanks! Now for the issue- My computer started randomly restarting itself. At first it was just the monitor going to sleep after 15 minutes of inactivity and then sometimes being unable to wake up unless I use the power button to restart it. (Neither keyboard or mouse were able to "wake it") Not a big issue as the monitor is very old, but has no other problem really and it wasn't happening often. Later, however, I had to restart the whole computer for it "wake up". I say wake up, because I have turned it off, as well as hibernation, since they were giving me problems in the past. (The warranty covered it back then, seems like the motherboard was faulty. Even so I had those options turned off ever since and its only the monitor that lights off.) And now the computer started rebooting at times. Most of the times were in-game, but once it was while talking on Discord with nothing else on. After a reboot I quickly check the temps- everything is around 20-40 degrees. For that I am using Speccy. Today I even had a hard crash which resulted in the computer loading up an older safer version. Didn't see anything removed, so not sure how old of a version it rolled back to. I have checked all my drivers and they are all up to date. The dust has been cleaned off recently and from I can see/feel all the fans are spinning normally. Specs: Win. 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1; i5-4460 CPU @ 3.20Ghz; 8GB RAM; GTX 960. The OS is installed on an SSD everything else is on an HDD. Apart from the rebooting I haven't noticed anything else weird. What can I do to troubleshoot, or find the issue? I'd change the HDD/SSD, but if its the power supply?! And vice versa. Same for all other parts really. Again, sorry if that's the wrong place for this topic and if my question is stupid/badly asked. Thank you for your time!

Hi! After I have put my computer to sleep I cannot get it to start back up. The computer seems to react to me clicking the mouse but the monitors do not get a signal to turn on and neither does my external sound interface. I then have to force turn it off. The Situation: I run a dual monitor setup with two different monitors (Odyssey G7 LC32G75TQSRX connected via DP 1.4 and Samsung T24D390EW connected via HDMI) powered by an RTX 3070TI in a Windows 10 Home machine with fresh GPU drivers. This setup worked normally for a while. Though When the PC woke up from hibernation/sleep mode or just when the monitor output ended when being afk all windows moved to the second screen and then to the main on. A behaviour that I did not experience when I used a Samsung G27FG73FQU also connected via DP (I believe v. 1.4). If anyone has an Idea regarding how to solve this I'd be happy but at least persistent windows is a thing. This behaviour existed from the start but the behaviour I have my main issue with occurred somewhat recently. The Issue: Whenever I power on my PC or wake it up from sleep/hibernation or just want to get an Image back after the Monitor turned black the following happens: I experience the behaviour described in the prior paragraph and at first my monitors display an image. A few seconds later the displays go black and if I attempt to move a window around while the display is dark it will be returned to it's original position when the Image comes back a few seconds later. When the image comes back the DP connected monitor also shows the input source on it's onscreen display overlay. The only exception to this is when I immediately move the mouse after the image went away due to the afk timer. I hope that this is the right place to ask and that someone might have an idea what's going on.

I have a Logitech Harmony Hub and would like to turn on my PC using either Bluetooth (preferred) or IR. Is that possible? Does anyone know how to get it working? In the past, I think I could wake from 100% off, but I might need to go into standby or hibernate to do it with Win11. I've setup my PC to connect to the Harmony Hub using Bluetooth: Logitech Harmony is installed and has my PC setup as a device. I can even control Windows using the remote over Bluetooth: I also have one of these old Philips OVU4003/00 IR Transmitter device that I used to use to turn on my PC with Harmony about 10 years ago. I haven't had it setup for a while though. It shows up as an eHome Infrared Receiver (USBCIR) device: My motherboard is an X570 ITX board from ASRock configured for UEFI. Is it possible to turn on my PC using either Bluetooth or IR with Harmony?

Hello, I've been dealing with this problem for a few months now; my computer stopped waking from sleep, or sometimes just freezes after being used for about 30 minutes or so. Every time I try to wake it up it shows error message on LiveDash display "CODE 32 DETECT MEMORY" - sometimes the number is different but the error is same. Restarting, shutting down, work fine. i've set it to not sleep or hiberante, so that's not the problem. I already tried: - swapping ram for different ram and different slot configs - updating bios to the latest version MB: Asus PRIME X299-DELUXE CPU: Intel i9-7960X RAM: Corsair Vengence DDR4 2x16GB 2666MHz SSD: Samsung NVMe 960 Pro 1 TB GPU: Asus ROG STRIX GTX1080 TI O8G-GAMING PSU: Corsair RM850X OS: Windows 10 Pro

Hey, this might be a completely stupid question, but I'd like to know if waking my computer from sleep via the on/off button on the case will have any long term problems? I went into the device manager and made sure that my keyboard or mouse can wake the computer, even checked if the 'allow computer to turn off device' boxes were unchecked. I went into the BIOS and tried to add a combination of two keys on my keyboard in order to awake my pc, but...nothing worked. Thank you to anyone who helps me out!! This community is amazing and I'm at a loss for words at how helpful you all are!

Hello, I have a problem and I'm getting quite desperate. Suddenly my computer stopped waking from sleep. My girlfriend's Windows computer usually takes around 7 seconds to wake up from sleep, but mine takes 26 seconds to wake up. We are both using very similar parts: She: Threadripper 1950x OC 4.0Ghz / 3200Mhz ddr4 ram / M.2 NVME 970 Evo 1TB / Aorus Gaming 7 Me: Threadripper 2990wx OC 4.0Ghz / 3000Mhz ddr4 ram / M.2 NVME 970 Evo 1TB / MSI Meg x399 Creation I have tried disabling Hybrid sleep and the results are the same. For what I understand hybrid sleeping saves the status of the PC in both RAM and Hard Drive in case that the PC loses power and the info from the RAM gets wiped it can wake up using the info from the Hard Drive. Is there any way to check if it woke up using the info from the RAM or if it used the one from the Hard Drive? Anyone knows what could be the cause of this slow wake-up? I hope someone can give me some guidance. Many thanks!

Hi all, I have a problem with my new build - cannot use Sleep function. Every time I place it to sleep via Windows 10 usual button it goes to sleep fine - keyboard and mouse LEDs turn off, monitor goes to sleep, motherboards LEDs off, fans off. If I to move mouse or press key on keyboard PC wakes up, fans spin, LEDs light up, mouse light comes up but - keyboard and monitor are off. If that's of any help - motherboard displays E1 readout, PC does not respond to power button. If I hold power button for 4 sec or use reset that still works. Next time PC starts as usual. Does anyone know what can be the issue? Note I don't have the luxury of spare PSU, GPU or MB lying around. I need to troubleshoot as is. It would be great if someone would share same/similar experience. See rig specs below and in my profile. Appreciate any help!

So, my computer kept waking up from sleep. I googled it and it told me to go to: Task Scheduler (Local) > Task Scheduler Library > Microsoft > Windows > UpdateOrchestrator. However, It seems that I cannot find Update Orchestrator, or it has been deleted. Any ideas?

Hello. I've been having a problem with my computer. Every time I put my computer to sleep, it wakes itself up. Not in the sense where it will wake up in 10 mins from putting it to sleep. But, it turns itself on only at 5-6am. I googled this issue and found that the PCI card tends to wake it up. So, I went on the cmd and pasted "powercfg -devicequery wake_armed" to see what woke up my computer. I then went to the device manager and disabled the option for the PCI card to wake up the computer. This didn't fix the issue. Thanks
