source: http://www.bild.de/news/aktuelles/news/neue-vorwuerfe-gegen-audi-in-abgasaffaere-48627330.bild.html so .... a Californian environmental agency, Carb, discovered this summer a car equipped with AUDI's V6 diesel engine had modified software installed that allowed it to cheat the emissions test according to the unnamed source, the software would detect the movement of the steering wheel (or lack of there of) and apply the "right" engine settings - when movement in the steering was not present, the CO2 emissions would be lower same source sais that this software was used in Europe for couple of years and can be encountered on both diesel and petrol engines - for "some reason" (cough) AUDI stopped using the said software in May, just before #dieselgate blew up --- don't lambos use AUDI's engines?! I think they're the V8, V10 and V12 kind but still

(Volkswagen T6, the same VW model as the possible future Apple van, minus the modifications) Apple is mostly known for their phones, tablets, and computers. However, now they are partnering with Volkswagen to make a self-driving transport vehicle for Apple employees. At first, Apple wanted to produce a car completely in-house but that plan was changed to a partnership with a traditional automaker: Similar problems were encountered in talks with the Japanese Nissan, Chinese BYD Auto, and British McLaren. Finally, Volkswagen agreed to work with Apple, possibly due to their trouble compared with rivals in developing a self-driving car. According to the New York Times and two former Apple employees: The issue with Apple entering the self-driving car space is this: Google's Waymo and Uber both have a head start and had more initial experience related to self-driving cars. Google has emerged as a software and AI giant, and at least Uber's business has always been cars. Apple has never made or worked closely with cars, and on the software side, most people3 4 find Siri on iPhones inferior to Google Assistant on Android. Volkswagen will cover the auto side, but can Apple, the creator of arguably 'elegant' and 'intuitive' products, and sometimes mechanically flawed5 devices, create a reliable and intelligent self-driving algorithm? I suppose we'll have to wait and see for Apple to give results. Volkswagen's stocks were talked about during this last WAN show. I just wanted to point out that though Volkswagen is low now due to their EPA test rigging, but that doesn't mean that now is a good entry point to buy in. Shown below is their stock statistics on a one month scale with a SMA(Simple Moving Average *The Red Line*) line enabled, the easy way to trade is to buy when the SMA line moves below the share price and to sell when the line moves above the share price. The fundamentals are incredibly important as the stock is now driven by news more than ever, on top of that the stock is $107.30 per share as of Sep 25 making it a high dollar per share stock(In other words you'll need ALOT of capital(money) in order to benefit from movements in the share price if it jumps up) if you plan on shorting(buy and sell in a really short period of time) the position. Check the Charts here. I myself would not want to go long(buy and hold for a long period of time(years)) in Volkswagen seeing it's stock history. There are better companies for going long and getting consistent growth such as google. The gains in their share price is heavily influenced by the mentality of the market, the last couple of years have been bullish until this year. Our industrial growth has hit the brakes as of late due to the feds decision on a rate hike, but that's a topic for another time. Check out our DOW below for a visual idea of how we've hit a wall in growth this year. TLDR: Don't buy Volkswagen stock just because it's low, heck don't buy any stock just because it's low. Do research and gain a good foothold on how to read and predict stock price movements before putting your hard earned money into the chaotic financial markets.

Well, it appears we have yet another car-related security issue. This time Roel Verdult and Baris Ege from Radboud University in the Netherlands and Flavio Garcia from the University of Birmingham, U.K. managed to discover that majority of Volkswagen cars and a fairly high volume of cars from other manufacturers using 'key-less' security chips from EM Microelectronic are easily hackable due to outdated encryption systems. According to the researchers, chip which should prevent the engine from starting if it's not in the near vicinity to the twin-chip built into the car and which according to the company itself should be uncopyable, can be, in fact, easily mapped and reproduced after recording the transmission just twice - one of the core issues is that it uses 96-bit encryption... Apparently we are back in the 90's when it comes to luxurious cars. Now the best part - security flaw was discovered back in 2012 and the chip producer was given 9 months to address the issue. Of course how could we expect the car industry to do anything if they can just sue the researches after the timer ran out, preventing them from publishing the research for over 2 years. Way to go VW, 196,607 possible keys are definitely good enough, good gods, no Amiga A1000 could handle it in a reasonable amount of time after all. I hope IBM is providing you with good maintenance on your RAMAC 305 supercomputer! Yea, sure... List of cars that are affected for 100%: Sauce & the other Sauce
