Hi all, Looking for some help when it comes to rendering video using the likes of Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects. Currently upgraded my CPU from a R5 3600 to a R9 5900X and my GPU from a RTX 2060 to a RTX 4070 with 32gb of Corsair Vergence 3200mhz RAM. My workflow is as follows: Create the video background in AE, as well as the audio visualiser, track titles and video main title. Render the above videos in Media Encoder. Organise the files together in Adobe Premiere Pro and add some images. Export the video I'm just wondering during this proces what would be the best render settings/codecs to use? I'm am currently exporting the clips at the following settings: 1440p using H.265(HVEC) CBR @ 10mbps but I've been reading online that it is a poor format to be exporting at especially when editing the files and exporting them afterwards. I'm also not sure how long the render times should be, I know that this has a lot of variables but I feel like the exports aren't that much faster then when I had my previous system. I am uploading the videos to YouTube primarily. Any input on subject/topic would be greatly appreciated!

Budget (including currency): 1000-1500 € Country: France Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: (in order of priority) Music Production and Music Mixing: Ableton Live 11, maybe upgrade to 12 ( for work ) Video Editing, Small animation creation: Blender and DaVinci Resolve ( for work ) Light 3D modeling: Auto Cad and TermoLog ( a software for buildings 3D modeling ) (for work) Gaming: EUIV, WoW, have a peek at more modern titles that I could not play before. (for fun! ) Philosophy of the build: I need a capable machine today, I can add/upgrade non-essential features in the future ( i.e. more storage). (This is why I think going with a DDR5 capable system would allow me to upgrade it in the future. Same goes with the 12th gen CPU, I chose a budget friendly platform that will allow me to upgrade up to 14th gen in the future... Is there something I am missing in my reasoning ? ) Additional Constraint: I have to relocate once per year in a different country in Europe for 2 months, so I need something "portable", some SFF build. Laptops seem to not give a good €/performance compared to desktops, plus they are not really upgradeable in the future. The build: PCPartPicker Part List: https://fr.pcpartpicker.com/list/4ngLn6 CPU: Intel Core i5-12400 2.5 GHz 6-Core Processor (€182.14 @ Amazon France) Motherboard: ASRock B760M-H/M.2 Micro ATX LGA1700 Motherboard (€105.88 @ Alternate) Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws S5 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL30 Memory (€138.88 @ Alternate) Storage: Samsung 980 Pro 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive (€102.27 @ Amazon France) Video Card: Asus DUAL OC GeForce RTX 4060 8 GB Video Card (€322.00 @ PowerLab) Case: Fractal Design Define 7 Mini MicroATX Mini Tower Case (€123.78 @ Amazon France) Power Supply: Corsair RM750e (2023) 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply (€129.99 @ Amazon France) Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11 Home OEM - DVD 64-bit (€141.88 @ Alternate) Total: €1246.82 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2024-02-29 10:33 CET+0100 Monitors: 2 Monitors Setup Peripherals: I already have all the basic peripherals, including an external audio interface The more USB ports the better, currently I'm forced to use USB hubs that cause some issues with MIDI keyboards. Here's what I currently hook up to my laptop: External Audio Interface Mouse dongle Keyboard dongle MIDI keyboard 2 external hard drives. ( in the future I will only use them for backup and transfer sound libraries on internal SSD, for now I'm forced to use them for "low-priority" sound banks) Why the Upgrade? I'm currently using a struggling Laptop which technically performs all the tasks that the new build should perform way better. (Current Laptop partial spec: CPU: intel i7-8550U GPU: AMD Radeon R7 M340 RAM: 8GB, 500ish GB SSD of some kind). The laptop is starting to crash once per week, I want to change it before it dies on me. So.. is this build even realistic ? Cheers

Budget (including currency): 130,000 BDT Country: Bangladesh Games, programs, or workloads that it will be used for: DaVinci Resolve, Premiere Pro Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc.): Many people suggested RTX 3060 Ventus 2X which is 35,000BDT in my Country. You can suggest me from these websites for price differences 1, 2 and 3. Requirements: - Fast rendering for 4K editing/works - Minimum 1TB Storage - No Lighting is Mandatory but if lighting is available I want to be able to turn it off not much of a lighting fan. - 4 memory slots if possible for future upgrade - No monitor required. Update: I think for CPU i will go with i5-13600K.

So I'm going to buy a new graphics card for my PC to edit videos since my 1070 8GB has been struggling to live-preview smoothly. The software I use is Premiere Pro and the files I import to the software are H.264, H.265, .MOV, .WAV (videos are shot from iPhone). Gaming, price, power consumption aside, which graphics card is better for editing videos in my scenario? RTX 3060 12GB or RX 6700XT 12GB? Also the CPU is 6700K running at 4.4Ghz stable.

Hello everyone! This fall I'm going to be entering my freshman year of college and was looking for some laptop recs. I've been looking on and off for the past few years so I kinda have a list of possibilities, just wanted to make sure I'm not missing any of the options out there as well as get some other opinions. My school's recommendations are core i7 or equivalent, 16GB of ram, 512GB of storage, and a 4GB graphics card (Doesn't recommend a Macbook for engineering). Also Davinci Resolve is my go to editing software and I'm going to be using Solidworks for class. I would prefer something smaller (13 to 15 inch) as it's going to be my daily carry and also an OLED or mini-LED, high refresh rate display but that's not a necessity. So far my options are: Dell XPS 13 Plus (1260P, 16GB, 3.5K OLED) ASUS ZenBook 14X OLED (1260P, 16GB, RTX 3050) Framework Laptop 13 (1360P, 16GB, 500GB) HP Dragonfly Pro (7736U, 16GB) (Unreleased) Lenovo Yoga Slim Pro 9i (13505H, 3K mini-LED, RTX 4050) Refurbished 14 in M1 Pro Macbook Pro (base model) Each of the above carry their own pros and cons but I'm currently leaning most towards the Zenbook (for the discrete GPU), Yoga (if it's not massively expensive with the mini-LED screen), or the Macbook (edit and take notes on mac, Solidworks on my desktop). I am looking to stay around the 1000 to 1500 USD price point so if you have any other laptops to look at or general advice that would be greatly appreciated, thank you and have an amazing day -Mark

Budget (including currency): around £800 - £1100 Country: UK Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Video editing (premiere pro) and casual gaming, fortnite, cod, battlefield, rss Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): i5 4440 gtx 680ti motherboard(not sure) 8gb corsair vengance 124 gb ssd 1tb hdd hi so i havnt upgraded my pc since i bought it in around 2012 to 2013, and its holding up unbelievably well, recently as i have been doing more heavy editing and games are becoming more demanding its time for an upgrade. For Cpu I have been looking at Ryzen 7 5800x or the 7 5600x And for Gpu im not sure where to start, for editing being my main do i go raedon or nvidia, what would be the best match for the cpu i am also planning on upgrading to 2x16gb gskill ram and potentially a new motherboard if you think i need a new one edit- needs: so i need to edit 4k on premiere pro, and gaming wise i want to play on at least high settings at a minimum of around 60fps if that helps maybe graphics card i have been interested in 2080 ti, but i know very little about what is right for me so all advice is helpful thanks

I found this editing software called MiniTool MovieMaker. I downloaded it to edit a video for my friend, and it seems pretty simple. I just want to know if it’s a good get because 1, it’s free, 2, no ads on free version, and 3, it’s easy and can do some good small things for videos. I used to use CapCut on my phone, but now should I use this app?

I want to get a gaming laptop for college. I am going to college for a degree in filmmaking and I am a gamer. I made a list that would make up the setup. My goals for this setup are, probability, budget, power. I know the laptop does not have the best screen so I am going to have a $500 editing monitor. I am not buying this ASAP, probably sometime in 2023, but I would like to know if this is a decent setup. Hi all, after scouring the internet and failing at finding a solution, I'm hoping to find some answers here. I'm a video editor and I use Premiere Pro to edit all my videos (honestly I'm stuck with Adobe just like LTT) I recently upgraded from my soon-to-be-outdated-but-still-worth-it editing rig which was: Core i5-6600K GTX 1060 (3GB) 16 GB DDR4 Win 10 version 22H1 x64 I had Premiere Pro 2021 installed on the PC and it played HEVC mp4 files without issue. This is my upgraded PC that I put together last week: Core i7-9700K GTX 1080 32 GB DDR4 Win 10 version 22H2 x64 Only problem is that now the HEVC files wouldn't play on Premiere 21 anymore. It fails to import and keeps telling me that the HEVC codec is missing. I found that I had installed K-Lite codec pack on my previous PC so I did the same on the new one but it still wouldn't play H265 files. I have updated all drivers and even tried installing other codecs to no avail, so any help or guidance in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much! *p.s. The HEVC files will play without issue on Premiere 22 on the new PC but I'm not willing to switch over because of the Q button ripple delete shortcut they "fixed". (Yes I'm one of those editors that used it frequently and would love to stick to Premiere 21 until Adobe comes to senses and actually fixes that Q button.)

I am wanting to create web comics, assets for video games, as well as become a YouTube streamer. I am also wanting to still be able to play games at their best graphics settings if not extremely close to them. For the gaming side I know I will need a better graphics card, processor, and monitor to name a few upgrades needed. For the artwork side of things, I am not sure what I want to look at for an upgrade. The GAOMON Pen Display was recently purchased and will not be getting replaced it is just the PC side that needs upgrading such as the main monitor and tower. When I turn up the DPI settings for my artwork it will lag out my computer very bad to the point it comes close to crashing. Thankfully it hasn't yet but I don't want for that to happen and risk losing what I currently am working on. The game assets I will be making will range from both 2D and 3D graphics both low-poly and high-res style assets. Another area I am unsure on is what is required to post and upload videos onto YouTube. The first videos I will be uploading are going to be web comics but I will be eventually doing streams as well using a avatar to represent myself. I am currently learning how to create and set one up through VROID.

So I’m about to start editing soon as well as live streaming. The videos are going to be fairly basic (mainly talking/ vlogging) and the live streaming is going to be fairly similar. I’m looking for a laptop that can edit 4K videos easily and handle some light live streaming. The primary focus is editing since that is what it will mostly be used for. I would prefer a battery life of around 3 hours, and I will most likely have some form of external storage for the videos. The screen also does not have to be 4K even though I’m editing 4K footage since the footage will be so basic. Price also is not an issue really, so the main focus is getting a laptop that will do what I need. Feel free to link or discuss any suggestions you have for me! It is greatly appreciated! Also any questions I will do my best to answer! Thanks!

Hii people.. I think I'm having some issues with my system... When I was exporting a 1080p video in Premiere Pro CC 2020, it was taking a little bit longer than I expected.. Well a 300 MB Video is taking almost 20 mins in Exporting...(with the setting of H.264 , YouTube 1080p HD preset, bit rate 16-40) Is it normal ? Also the timeline rendering was't that impressive maybe it's because of my GPU, I'm using Nvidia GeForce GT1030 2GB DDR5..(will upgrade this later) Please help me out.. I'm very new to video editing.. Thanks in advance!

So I am in the process of finding components for a build for my brother-in-law. He is in the "business" (that show-business thing) and has the ultimate goal of directing, but right now he needs a computer that can edit this 4k to 6k (RED) footage for various projects he does on the side (right now his day job is as a Production Assistant / Grip / I don't really know). I am trying to put something together that won't completely break the bank and I am thinking an X99 Board from Asus, Gigabyte, or MSI (those are the companies I prefer, but I can work with other suggestions of course). Price goal on the complete build: USD $2,000.00. CPU and Mobo, costing $550 to $620. I will pair the X99 Board with a 6850K. My concerns are finding a quality board that won't end up in RMA limbo, as the reviews on Newegg make it seem that you are on thin ice with an X99 board paired with a higher TDP/higher core chip. (Note: I intend to put a beastly air-cooler or the best reviewed AIO or simple water loop on it and OC it to 4.2gHZ+, not a crazy over-the-top OC, instead I want a stable free-performance OC. I personally have a middle-tier gaming machine (that I am using to learn some basic editing on) with a 7700K and a Z170 Chipset (Mobo: Gigabyte Z170XP-SLI with a Corsair H115i AIO and the CPU (7700K) is de-lided with the TIM replaced with CLU) And even with that somewhat over the top effort to keep by 7700k cool, i still hit temps of 78c in a stress test (AIDA64) (Not Terrible, I know, but I would have preferred to never crack 65c as some people have said in their reviews of the de-lid stuff). If you're curious the 7700k is set at 4.8gHZ with 1.340 V running to it. Idle's at ~40c, but I am in So Cal with a lousy Air Conditioner that we mostly do not run... i.e. high ambient temps around 25 to 27C or 78 to 85F. So why did I bring up my build... To illustrate the high thermals with Intel's 6th and 7th gen processors. I want to make this a no non-sense machine as much as possible for my Bro-I-L. (Let's say he's competent enough, but he wouldn't be one to frequent this forum or Tom's Hardware). So my question to all you workstation Pro's / 6+ Core Having Enthusiasts / X99 Havings Pros / Video Editors of the uHD Variety.... What are your suggestions for an X99 Mobo paired with a 6850K? Any rec's on graphics cards? Please Note: I am not going for x299 due to price and that recently released chipsets require a bit of time for the engineers to put out the stable BIOSs and work out the kinks, day-one issues, and all. Please also note, I am considering Ryzen, but I will do more research on that and then put out a separate thread if need be. Also, he (my Bro in law) has stated his industry is Team Blue, as he also leans. I myself am equal opportunity enthusiast. If I could afford a Threadripper 16c/32t X399 Build with Two Vega FE 16GB GPUs in Crossfire, you best believe I'd be lining up in less than a weeks time. Pretty sure this is my first post in the forum, I am somewhat around the YT comments on the LTT Channel... Any help from the community on building an awesome Video Editing Workstation would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, I'm looking for a laptop for editing 4K footage. I want it to have specs along those lines 15 inch (to fit in my backpack, maybe 17 but than it has to be impressive..) Rtx 2070 or better 32 gb ram (seems hard / impossible to find) i7 or i9 500 gb or more SSD My budget: 1800 chf (yes I'm from Swiss) Till now i have found a really good offer for 1700 chf (hp omen i7, 500 gb ssd, rtx 2070) but instead of 32gb it only has 16gb of ram so I'm guessing if I don't get better recommendations from you, I'll just get that one and upgrade the ram.. Suggestions? Thanks, Georgie

Hello, I am looking for a laptop as I am returning to school. I am a videographer and sketch artist. Just trying to find a laptop or 2 in 1 that is capable of editing up to 4k video if needed and able to handle the Adobe programs as well as the office programs. If you can point me in a the direction that could possibly fill my needs it'd be much appreciated.

Hi people, I'm planning to buy a 1TB NVMe for Both C drive and Projects.. Does 300-400GB would be enough for C drive space? Besides windows 10 pro 64 bit I'll install all my softwares like Cubase Pro; Adobe Premiere pro, After effects, Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrations; DaVinci Resolve; Blender and All plugins for both Music and Video production! I will use another SSD for Cache files! and another for sound library and samples! Regarding my budget.. I only have 2 options.. Crucial P1 or Gigabyte 1 TB m.2 NVMe! Please help me out on this! Thanks in advance!

Budget (including currency): 2000ish us dollars Country: US Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mining, video editing and gaming build all in one. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): i want to build one pc for Mining, video editing and gaming build all in one. i want to go with 5700 xt for a video card/s and i need a good motherboard that would support 8 gpus but still very good for personal usage and gaming and video editing and such. and i need a monitor both for 4k editing and for gaming. any help or info about that? thanks.

hi there i am using the ryzen 7 2700x with 32gb of corsair ram paired with an rx vega 64. when i pre render, or fully render in anny of the adobe applications my cpu/gpu usage doe not spike at all above 40% usually the cpu stays at around 12% usage -when rendering-. i find this rather weird and would like to know if this is normal. i have tried: opencl/software different render formats i know: its not ram related since it always happends and my ram still has more than 16gb allocated to premier (in the preferences) I hope someone out there knows an option of what this could be, please help me out kind regards Andreas FPV
