hello everyone, I'll give you a context of the situation, about 8 months ago I bought an rx vega 56 and I did its respective maintenance because it is a card that generates a lot of heat, a few days ago the temperatures rose again and the card began to make a lot of noise due to its disgusting dissipation of stock, again I did its maintenance but now the card does not turn on and only one of its leds turns on for a second and turns off and does not give video, someone could help me or someone who has had a vega 56 could help me? Hi to anyone reading this, I just bought a 240mm aio (I think the pump's an Asetek 4th gen unit) for my reference vega 56 (you can probably guess why), and realised that there aren't enough fan headers on the motherboard to connect both the fans (2x Noctua nf-f12) and pump into the motherboard. I'm also keeping the blower fan on the gpu, as I'm going to use it to provide cooling for the VRMs, so plugging either of these into the header on the card isn't an option. I do have a molex to 2 pin (there is a hole for, but no third pin on it) adapter though, which I can use to plug either the fans or pump into. From what I've seen online so far, most aio pumps run at 100% all the time, but I can't help wonder then why they have a third pin (as on case fans this is used only for DC fan control as far as I'm aware), and so whether using a 2 pin adapter is safe or recommended. Of course I'd want to be able to control the fans on the radiator as well if possible, as even using the low noise adaptors, the fans are quite audible.

Hello Guys, i'm new to the forum and only created this account to try figuring out if the behaviour of my Vega 56 is as expected. My CPU is a Ryzen 5 1600x with 2667MHz dual-channel RAM at CL14. The RAM would theoretically do higher clocks but I found that the lower latency improved frametimes. My Vega is undervolted to 950mV and set to 1520MHz. The 2nd powerstate however is set to about 1200MHz. Changing the powerstates to identical clocks leads to freezing and crashing of the driver. I tried this to force higher clockspeeds in Overwatch since my gpu sits around 40-60% usage at 1080p 144Hz. Temps peak at 55°C and CPU-usage at 50-65%. GPU-clocks sit at power state 2, roughly 1200MHz, which is less than the silicon should be capable of and also leads to a harsh performance hit in Fur-Mark when applied manually. In benchmarks at 1080p the usage is at 100% and hits the highest set clockspeeds. When I start the game I can hit on average 240-270 FPS with frametimes around 4-5ms. However after some time the frames start dropping down to 200 FPS to as low as 100 FPS with a very noticeable increase of frametimes. Locking FPS to 200 and 180 shows the same behaviour with lower GPU-usage. Now rendering at 150% of the resolution leads to higher usage, but also shows drops after some playtime. Therefore I figured something has to be wrong about my PC that limits it in some way. Maybe someone with a Vega or similar experiences can help me. Also excuse any spelling/grammatical mistakes, I'm a non-native speaker.

I am saving for Apple SoC / ARM and have eBayed all my computers (serious) I need to take this bunch of parts and make a Computer to operate Divinci and Final Cut so its got to be a MAC. I also want badly to play DCS world which requires 64 bit Windows and from what I understand, needs to NOT be Boot Camp. Fortunately the 2010 Mac has 6 SATA ports and a couple PCIe ports to add more storage. I have so many parts and enough to build 2 MAC PRO's. I have 4 2.5inch ssd's from 500 - 1TB and 4 HDD's totaling 10 TB. ASUS RX580 and a Vega RX580. 2 Towers and well Look. I just want to dual boot but have never built a PC or Mac Pro before. The Vega was in a Razor X eGPU and was recognized on both Windows and Mac.

My brother was recently putting his computer away and allowed me to take his Vega 56. It's a Sapphire Pulse model. I swapped it with my 1060 3G, uninstalled the old drivers using DDU, and tried playing some games. The first weird thing was that the FPS I was getting didn't seem to be any higher than on my old card, and the games would sometimes stutter terribly, especially upon entering a new location. Then, after playing for about 10 minutes, the screen goes black, forcing me to reboot the PC. I've tried to look for a solution. Some people seem to have similar issues, but with some differences. First, most of them had Gigabyte cards, which apparently had some sort of widespread manufacturing defect, and had reported having their system crash completely and the fans on the graphics card ramp up to 100%. Mine keeps the fans running at the same speed, and the system appears to be still running since I can hear some of the game's sound effects even with the screen black. I have tried multiple things people in those threads suggested, for example, uninstalling the drivers and instead using those auto-installed by Windows, increasing the power limit, running two separate power cables, or lowering the GPU clock speed, with no success. I also thought about reinstalling Windows, but my brother says he's also had these issues, only his PC wouldn't crash as quickly or as frequently, so that's probably not what's causing the problem. Here are my system's specs: ROG Strix B350-F Gaming Ryzen 5 1600 Sapphire Radeon RX Vega 56 Pulse Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 2x8 GB 2400 MHz Seasonic M12II EVO 620 512 GB NVMe SSD, 2TB HDD For now, I have swapped the card for my old 1060, but I'd be very happy if I could use the newer one, especially since the 1060's 3 GB VRAM is rather limiting in modern games. Any ideas?

I've recently gotten some new parts for my Pc and after installing them and installing windows 10 on my new ssd, I tried installing the drivers for the GPU and started getting Blackscreens until it the screen just stayed black. After restarting Windows went into recovery mode. This happend everytime i tried it. My spec are: Ryzen 3 1200 MSI B350m Pro-VDH Radeon RX Vega 56 8GB - AIR BOOST Gaming OC Corsair VS 550 Curcial BX500 Crucial Ballistics 8gb 2400mhz

Hi, I had a RX 480 which I sold out last week. Now I want to get a VEGA 56. I have a 550W(Bronze) PSU of cooler master. So, my question is can I use this PSU for VEGA 56???(I used many calculator . They showed a 485W recommendation & needed about 435W.But they Suggested a 650W PSU)

I am considering purchasing the RX Vega 56 GPU when it is released later this month (assuming I can get one before they're sold out). I have been informed that my CPU may bottleneck my system if I upgrade to an RX Vega 56. A few have told me that a 1060 6gb graphics card would yield the most performance without losing any value due to a potential cpu bottleneck. If I upgrade my gpu, I would also like to upgrade my monitor to a 120hz or 144hz version in the future so that I can get more frames. Current Build: i5-4460 R9 380 60Hz 1080p Monitor 8GB RAM 1 TB HDD 250 GB SSD Games I want to be able to play: Shadow of War Rainbow Six Siege CSGO Wolfenstein II (possibly)

I have a 500W EVGA 80+ AMD FX8320E Max TDP 95w 8GB 1600 DDR3 no other major power draw. Im wondering if my psu can handle RX vega 56, i'd like to not buy a new psu if possible I do have the dual 8pin pci-e connectors, so id assume it would be okay.

I have a i5 3470 and a 500W Seasonic eco PSU. Can I buy a Vega 56, undervolt it and be good to go? or should I replace this PSU. I don't really have the budget to buy a new PSU so I would like to know what do you think. BTW, the PSU is 4.5YO

Hello, I have an Acer gn246hl, a 144 hz 1920x1080 LCD monitor. I'm looking to buy the AMD Radeon RX Vega 56 as soon as it drops on the 28th. The Vega has 4 ports, one HDMI 2.1, and three Display Ports. The issue is that my monitor only has DVI-D, VGA, and HDMI 2.0 ports. I could use HDMI, but I do not know if 2.0 supports 120hz because I've looked elsewhere and I'm getting really mixed respones. Its a big deal for me to get the 120-144hz because I've spoiled myself with the high frames using the DVI-D connector connected to my RX 580, lower frames are hard for me to play with because it feels so choppy. Another option is to use a Displayport to DVI-D connector, but they only support up to 60hz as well. Is there a third option here or is there just no way for me to get 144hz?

I saw this little blurb over at HardOCP and thought it was kind of interesting, but basically someone over at ChipHell has successfully flashed the Vega 64 BIOS onto a Vega 56 card and while it doesn't unlock the extra stream processors, it does provide a bit of a bump in performance... https://www.hardocp.com/news/2017/08/30/chip_hell_flashes_vega_56_bios_64 Not that I think anyone will be able to find a Vega Card for a reasonable price, however, it does make the Vega 56 a bit better of a deal if you get a dual BIOS card at MSRP and just flash the 64 BIOS onto it...

Had an interesting year of GPU goodness. I bought a XFX RX 480 GTR Black edition for around £165 at the start of the year just before the mining boom took off, loved it and then sold it onto a miner for a cheeky £320.. Then managed to snag this, a GTX 980Ti with a non functioning LED for £250.... which turned out just needed a new wire soldered in (dont worry its tidy now with shorter wires!) So from the initial £160 i dropped on the RX 480 to the profit and then purchase of the 980Ti i've shellled out less than £100 and have a 980Ti.. This leaves me at a bit of an impasse with what to do next? I dont think there will be that much - if any difference - in looking at a 1070 or Vega 56, and even the Vega 64 / 1080 seems to be an awful lot of money for not a great boost in performance over the 980Ti So what should I do? Sit and wait a few gens for Navi or Volta? whip off the MSI cooler and custom cool and chase those higher maxwell clocks? swap air for water?

Hi, I need a RX 580 or Vega 56 for my new rig. But, both of them is out of stock. Yesterday I visited AMD's website. In the shop there was vega 64 & so many cards. But there wasn't Vega 56!! What's the reason of it?? one more thing, In Newegg vega 56 is selling by SAPPHIRE,MSI,ASUS..... But every product thumbnail was the main Vega 56 & the price was 559$?!? Please explain this & can I pre-order the main vega 56? if I can, then plz tell me how...

I am planning to build a PC using the vega 56 plus the r5 1600 and wondered how beefy my psu needs to be any help would be appreciated I have a pc part picker list here https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/bPNhQV and a budget including a monitor of £1200 (I can push this if have to)

I recently bought a Vega 56 reference style from xfx. While I gamed on it , it theemd that its performance was worse than my old r9 290. I opened up Wattmann and watched to the clock speeds during gaming and it hang a somewhere around 1150mhz . I costum overclocked it (increase the power limit, the voltage , the temp target , and the fan speed to Max) But still, during gaming like GTA V oder Furmark my clockspeeds were around 1150 mhz. So I flushed the 64 bios on it, did a new driver installation and again a costum overclock, but nothing changed still low clockspeeds. After that I started up premiere pro and while open cl Rendering my clockspeeds gone up(1645mhz), still not during gaming. While rendering the powerdraw didn't got higher then 130watts . I've a 850w pay from seasonic so I don't think that's the issue . I would like to receive some solutions for my problem.

So I'm looking to get a new GPU, and I've got it narrowed down to the two in the title. However, the monitor I'll be using (34UC79G-B) is a 144Hz + Freesync panel. So should I go for a reference 56 (€400) and Freesync, or shell out for a custom board (maybe a FTW2?) which is €430, to actually take advantage of the high refresh rate? Basically, Freesync vs 144Hz.

I'm recently purchased a freesync 1080p monitor and a Ryzen 5 1400 , and I want to upgrade my R9 380, at the end of the year and I want something a little bit overkill, I was thinking on a Vega 56, but I'm not sure if the cpu it's going to get behind a lot or if it's going to be able to handle it.

Hello, So i recently purchased a vega 56, but it's a blower cooler so i was wondering ways to improve it's cooling performance. I already had plans to cut up the IO shield on the exhaust, and have applied liquid metal so improve thermal transfer, but i was wondering if there was anything else i could do besides buying a better cooler.

Hello all, I currently have an MSI RX 470 and i5-6500 running an Oculus Rift and have had it a year now and am happy with performance but curious about upgrades. I have some money saved and looking at spending around $350-$400CDN a local shop has a Gigabyte Radeon Vega 56 gaming for $369 and a EVGA 1660ti XC Black gaming for $364. I have been doing reading but there is not tonnes of specific VR data for these cards that I have found and was wondering if anyone had any real world experience that may help with the decision making process?

Planning a new build to replace my Phenom II X4 955 and 750ti setup. Budget isn't too big because I need to buy a new monitor as well, that's at least 150 quid. So, the RX590 and Vega 56 are both more or less in the same price range on eBay and gumtree. Not sure which to go with. For CPU I'm probably going with either a 1st or 2nd gen Ryzen 7 or a 2nd or 3rd gen Ryzen 5. Definitely 16GB of RAM minimum, I need the ram for some of my CAD work. The GPU and CPU will be both be used together for rendering in Blender with Cycles. As for games, I'm not an AAA nut really but I plan to play both Forza Horizon 3 and 4 preferably on high to ultra settings, still play JC3 somewhat but not much, also planning to pick up TpF2 later this year, as it's unreleased don't know how much a resource hog it will be but TpF1 was enough to cause problems on my Phenom and 750ti. I also play Beamng drive on low, would like to play on high to ultra settings with dynamic lighting enabled for once, new traffic update will also be pretty resource intensive albeit more on the CPU. My baseline requirements would be to play all the above with the stated quality at 1080p 60fps, I might be able to afford a 1440p monitor though, still, 60fps requirement but more is always nicer. Any opinions and feedback appreciated, will post a PC part picker list once I complete it down in the comments. Budget for the entire PC is about £700 max, will aim to buy most things secondhand except for storage drives.

So I’m well acquainted with doing a V Bios flash to unlock the 1.35V on the memory for my V56 but that has the unfortunate side effect of my card showing up as a V64 in 3D Mark, not helpful going for in-class high scores. Is there any way to push the Memory Voltage while still maintaining a V56 to 3d Mark? (I saw someone with a V56 pushing 1100MHz memory (in 3dmark) which i refuse to believe was done on 1.2V, since i was maxing out at 955MHz at 1.2V and 1180MHz on 1.35V... unless LN2 since HMB2 scales with temperature) Similarly, is there a way to push the max core voltage beyond the maximum allowed 1200mV? I know that LC bios’ allow up to 1250mV but again same issue with 3D mark plus i had some weird power or temp throttling feedback loop.

So i built a new pc a few days ago and it is not working out to be as good as it should be. Vega 56 gpu.I am getting very low fps and my gpu is never hitting max load even in rainbow 6 siege and the division 2. For instance i only have 100 fps when my cpu is overclocked to 4 ghz on rainbow 6 when i should easily be getting 144 idk why this is happening but it is very upsetting. And ive looked at every single forum and thread and customer support out there but cant figure it out.

hey guys i am there gaming with my new setup but it seems my cpu is not rly working as it should? i tried to set bios to "optimized settings" but that apperantly didnt work. i cant use ryzen master also cause when i start it it fucks up my bios and i had to reset bios cause of ryzen master 2 times and yes i confirmed it was because of it. i saw online that i could put the frequency and voltage manually in the bios. is that a good idea and if yes what are the normal numbers for it? 3.2ghz and 1.2 V ? my setup is : cpu ryzen 5 1400 gpu saphire vega 56 mainboard msi b350 pc mate 16gb 3200 ddr4 on black desert online on ultra mode i am getting around 45 fps thats cool by me just wanted to stress it out but even then the cpu is only half speed thx for help :))
