Hey everyone I've got an ECS H81H3-M4 motherboard with Intel i5-4590 processor coupled with AMD Radeon R7 240 graphics card. It's a newly built low budget (I'm a student) system. The problem is that when I stress the graphics card the system shuts off instantly, as if power supply failed to cope with that power draw. I had no name 400w power supply so i figured it couldn't provide the rated capacity so I went and bought second hand Corsair VS650 650w power supply, with it's warranty sticker still intact. But the system still shuts down under graphical load. Things I've tried: - running memtest86+, 1 pass, no fail - stressing CPU with prime95, processor pulled 90w but system still worked - undervolting in BIOS settings, no effect (since stressing CPU didn't cause system to fail i believe CPU isn't the problem) The same graphics card works just fine with my older build (intel H55M chipset with i5-520, one of those weird motherboards that was shown in LTT channel recently). The other problem is that the motherboard can't reset/reboot without hanging, I have to force shutdown the system when restarting Windows or after saving BIOS settings. Any ideas what is the problem and what can be done? Cheers from Turkey :)

So recently I have been playing Yakuza 0 via the xbox app on windows 10. Really cool game but the textures are a bit rough to look at, so I tried to use a mod. Messing with the windowsapps folder made a somewhat big mess with the xbox app in general. I got ownership of all the windowsapps folders but couldn't change any of the yakuza 0 files because it acted like the folder had limited space. In my head, if I redownloaded the game now with ownership of all the folder, maybe it would let me mess with the files. I could not delete the folder, only the contents. I used cmd to delete it but after that the xbxox app gave me an error 0x00000001 when trying to download the game again. The small number seems to me like it is something wrong with starting the download. I can't download any other game nor run the ones I have downloaded. I've researched a lot trying to fix this. Nowhere I found an adequate answer. Different places have different solutions but none of those worked for me. please someone help me.

As the title of the thread states, I am getting the "reboot and select proper boot device" message when trying to boot my pc. However, I'm starting to believe that the usual fixes won't help. I recently purchased a Ryzen 7 5800x from a friend and two days ago I decided to swap my Ryzen 5 3600x for the new processor. I made the switch and when I turned my pc back on, it didn't boot. I couldn't even get into the BIOS. I then remembered that I had forgotten to update the BIOS before switching CPUs. I had an ASUS B450 motherboard, which should have been compatible with the 5800x, as long as the BIOS had been updated. Okay so, all I should have to do is put the old CPU back in and update the BIOS right? I should also mention that immediately prior to swapping CPUs, my PC ran perfectly fine. I never had any issues booting. So I removed the 5800x and put the old 3600x in. My PC was now exactly the same as it had been an hour prior when it was working and booting correctly. It booted me directly into the BIOS and when I hit "save and close" I ran into the "No bootable device found.....etc." message. This confused me because my pc was back in its old configuration that it had just been working in. I then proceeded to look up the error message and find possible solutions. I should also mention that I managed to update the BIOS via internet, so my motherboard should have then been able to support the 5800x. After spending HOURS looking online and trying possible solutions, it still was not booting into windows. I then decided to try and put the 5800x back in since I updated the BIOS. Once I did that, the computer would now post with the new CPU, but upon exiting the BIOS, it would give me the same message. By this point I thought maybe something was wrong with one of my hard drives, but I have both a regular SSD and a Samsung m.2 drive. Both drives had separate copies of windows so I found it unlikely that BOTH had corrupted at the same time somehow. I even tried putting my roommate's m.2 drive into my computer to see if it would boot Windows. It didn't. After hours of trial and error, we determined that the only thing it could possibly be at this point was the fact that the motherboard was old and not really recommended for newer processors. I gave up for the night and resorted to going to best buy the next day and purchasing an MSI B550 Gaming Plus Motherboard. I spent the next hour rewiring everything and changing the motherboard, only to turn my PC on, have it boot into the BIOS, and then present me with the same message. By this point I was beyond frustrated. I even went as far as to assemble an ENTIRELY SEPERATE COMPUTER using the old motherboard, processor, my old 1060, old ram, and an old power supply. I hooked both of my drives that contained windows up to it and I was presented with THE SAME MESSAGE. So I now have to separate computers with the same problem. I've thought maybe the processor I bought from my friend was faulty, but it was working in his computer up until I went over to his house and helped him take it out and put his new one in. There are no bent pins or anything. But even if the 5800x WAS somehow faulty, it still does not explain why my computer wouldn't work with my old CPU. I then started thinking that maybe it was because I was using an un-activated version of Windows, but this theory was quickly shot down by my roommate who reminded me that we had tried using his drive, which had an authentic copy of windows on it. I am frustrated, disheartened, and completely out of ideas. I'm about ready to throw the PC and myself off of a bridge. I genuinely am baffled at this point. This is my last resort before caving and taking it to some computer repair place. PLEASE if anyone has any ideas or solutions I would be so grateful. Also here are my current specs. CPU: Ryzen 7 5800x GPU: Gigabyte 3060TI MB: MSI B550 Gaming Plus RAM: 32 Gb Corsair Vengeance DDR4 PSU: EVGA 750 G5 Supernova CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Black Edition Please Help.

I just cleaned my computer out of some nasty adware that used up to 16GB of RAM and 100% of my processor to keep shoving pop-ups on screen. No more pop-ups, but I feel this issue may still be related to the virus I got. YouTube will not load. On any browser. I've tried Firefox, Edge, and Chrome, all have the same issue, as seen in the first attached image. In addition, using Google as my default search engine seems to have given up. The malware first hijacked all browsers and changed the default search engine, but after switching back to Google, it suddenly doesn't work, as seen in the second attached image. Though you'll see in the third image that using google.ca specifically will solve the issue, but adds an extra step in getting where I need to go. What's going on here?

I'm lost at this point. For reference: Windows 7 Pro 64-Bit installed on boot SSD Mechanical hard drive with my user profile on it I noticed some issues with my system that I believe are from my hard drive (slowdowns, computer hanging, and one time I restarted and when the system boot back up, I had a black background and nothing on the desktop - this one was fixed by system restore). So I bought a new hard drive and tried to use EaseUS Todo to clone the drive to the new one. This failed twice. So I tried to copy the user profile over to the new drive with all of my files, like I did when I first set up the system, but then I had other problems (loading up windows to find no aero and a black background, not being able to enter into regedit, and logging off showing the user name I was most recently in, but then "other user" instead of the profile I made to transfer my normal profile to the new drive). with all of these issues, I changed my profile back to the old drive and it is working for now, though with error messages. Basically, I want to keep my settings if possible and get everything onto the new drive before the old one craps out. I've been trying to get this done for almost 24 hours now and I'm getting frustrated. I'm out of ideas on how to get this done and any help I could get would be much appreciated.

Hello! I was referred to this forum by my brother (I am an avid watcher of LTT media myself) and I wanted to see if I could produce any results from the community. My laptop specs: -Gigabyte Aero 14 v6 (mfg. date November 2016) -i7-6700HQ @2.6 GHz -GTX 1060 (laptop SKU, duh) -16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz RAM -512 GB m.2 SATA SSD -Windows 10 Professional 64-bit (OS was reinstalled in May) I bought this laptop from someone on eBay who had used it for a week. When I received it, the battery life was atrocious (especially for a 94 Wh battery) so I RMAd it and the motherboard was replaced due to a faulty battery controller. But when I received it, the laptop would suddenly crash at random (15 minutes to an hour after being turned on), going to a black screen and forcing me to hard reset. Once the school year finished I reinstalled the OS from a bootable USB drive and I had to reinstall my drivers. I have not had any crashing issues as of now (September), but when I reinstalled the Intel HD graphics driver, the laptop is always on max brightness on startup (even higher than the brightness slider can adjust to). I have tried reverting to previous versions with no avail. Any suggestions? (I have attached a picture of what happened once after a crash issue) IMG_2836.JPG 2.2 MB

I recently bought some memory to upgrade my PC from 8 to 16GB of DDR4 memory, it's the same memory that I currently have (which I've never had a problem with), it should be 2x4GB of DDR4 at 3200MHz. But when I installed it today task manager says it only at 1200MHz and I checked on CPU-Z which says the same thing. I'm using an Asrock B450 Pro4 motherboard with the newest BIOS, whenever I try to set the memory speed it resets back to 1200MHz. I can't figure out how to get it to go to 3000MHz.

I've been having some trouble with a select games in my steam library and some applications on my computer that i'm not quite sure how to fix. Recently a small number of games have been getting this green outline around the border of the the screen and the mouse once in the actual game "works in the menus", but once actually in game will stop responding pretty much. It started with a steam game called "The Designer's Curse" and it's spread to a few others but all the same thing; green outline and dead mouse cursor when in game. I can show the green outline but can't really show the dead mouse... I've tried uninstalling the mouse drivers and reinstalling, updating every driver i have, downloaded and installed the dedicated mouse software and changed the polling rates and currently updating the Nvidia graphics but so far nothing has been working.

Ok so I am not sure what's going on with this system... It runs on a few weeks old clean windows installation everything up to date and no other issues what so ever.... Practically on my everyday life i did not notice any hiccups what so ever because the system despite not performing as it should is still smooth and fast. But I noticed that when running an IntelBurnTest on very high I get almost half the GigaFlofps compared to a guy who has the same CPU as me with a slightly slower ram (mine is a trident x DDr3 2400 Mhz dual channel his is a 1800 hz kit) ... and I noticed that despite the burn test running my CPU (according to task manager ) was running at ~90% at 3.25GHz (despite the default clock being 3.5 GHz with 4Ghz boost) This was very strange.. I thought maybe its because I have the power settings as "balanced" I changed them to high performance and still no change... Then I thought to restart my computer and load an OC profile I had in my BIOS at 4.4Ghz all cores and ~1.4 Vcore etc (this profile used to work flawlessly and I use to run benchmarks and game for hours a day in the past with this profile) The PC seems to boot to windows faster but upon running cinebench I get like 490 I dont remember how much I used to get in the past but I think it was a little more than 500 on factory clocks here is the video with all the metrics while running cinebench https://streamable.com/jt1l1 What gives ??? If it was a failed OC it should freeze or something right? yet the temps are ok (on air) I recorded the video and uploaded it I type here this post without restarting etc and everything works fine and smooth and fast but not as fast as it should be... I really never had a similar situation before.... (please take a look at the video to understand better of what I am talking about) **EDIT** The Cinebench score is at 551 which is normal, maybe it was slower because of all those HWinfo windows I had etc.. but still it did not run as OC it only run as 3.45 GHz and the score is normal for default clocks. **EDIT2** Problem solved guys... the problem was Asrocks quirky Bios interface which when loading the previously saved O.C profile did not actually really set the system on those settings (I mean as you can see in the picks in a post bellow this topic the settings were visibly there and seemed visibly enabled by the bios but in reality they were not) I had to a) reset to defaults b) enter each value again manually on my own (not touching the OC profile I saved) identically to how its shown in the pictures bellow in the following posts and then boom everything get set up and windows run my CPU at 4.4Ghz....

I was preparing a system to give to a friend. I was testing the system with a gt 640 and it was working perfectly, then I switched in the graphics card that I was going to give him, a his hd 6770. When i turned the system on, the computer power button flashed 3 times before finally turning on. I wasn't getting any output to my monitors but I could tell windows was loading from the hard drive noises. Eventually the graphics card driver was loaded and I got an image, but it was stuck in a 640x480 resolution with no options to change it. I then installed catalyst control center and the newest driver and still nothing. I put the graphics card in a system using an lga 775 board and experienced the same issue. I finally put the card in my personal system, a lga 1150 computer, and it booted fine. I did the same thing a hd 7570 with the same effect. Only this time, the power button flashed only once, The rest was the same: low resolution, lengthy time before an image showed up, and it didn't work in the two older systems but worked fine in my rig. Does anyone have suggestions as to why this is happening and how I can fix this? System that I'm giving away athlon x4 9750 4gb ddr2 ram 400 watt psu mcp61pm-gm gateway board 160gb hard drive

so I've had this problem since 3 days and it only got worse last night. every night i play rainbow six siege for 2-3hrs. and while in game 50-60mins down the pc would shut off as if someone has pulled the plug off the wall. it would then give 00 q-code on the motherboard. i then will have to cut the power for a good 5-10 minutes to get it to post again. since last night it has gotten worse. the second the cpu gets some load, the pc shuts off and then i'll have to go through the entire process to get it to start again. PC specs below Here are the trouble shooting processes i've gone through so far: 1) run gpu stress tests (pass) 2) run prime 95 (fail) 3) monitor cpu tems ( max 75 dig C at full load) (i monitored this before the problem became worse) 4) monitor gpu temps ( max 65digs c) 5) monitor motherboard temps ( max 45digs c) 6) monitor power voltages using HWMonitor ( nothing un usual, everything where it needs to be) 7) made sure all cables were in properly 8) run memtest86 for 6hrs (pass) PC Specs: i7 4790k@ 4.8ghz, 1.39v Asus Maximus vii hero motherboard corsair H100i cpu cooler 12gb ddr3 memory gigabyte HD7870 OC GPU corsair gs700 psu 2x samsung 850evo 120gb SSD seagate 1tb HDD seagate 500gb HDD WD green 2tb HDD DVD read write drive (why not :P) i've had the overclock since day one and had never faced an issue. it's been 100% stable so i don't think it's an oc issue. my temps are way below the 'i should under clock to get them sub zero temps' feeling when running prime95 it does not even last a second. while gaming it would run a good hour before shutting off but now as soon as the game is up, it's off.
