Hello! This is gonna be quite a long text because its quite a long story & problem So lets get to it, The problem/Question So the output out from my motherboards (x99 strix) soundcard is way, WAY to loud, I have the problem with every headphone i own. And i also have this problem with my new headset (G633) i just bought. I bought the G633 because i can connect it with my pc via USB. And i was thinking the audio would go over a integrated soundcard in the headset. This was not the case and the sound was still the loud, even over USB. I cant really find anything online that anyone else has this problem. As you guys probely know Realtek is "Special" So yeah im not sure of the driver is correctly installed or even installed... This is because if i try to find the Realtek software i just cant find it, its not there. I hope someone can help me with this problem (the background story is quite important it can give quite a bit of information) The background story So in the beginning 2014 i bought a custom gaming pc from a local pc shop. Back then i didnt know anything about pc's: components, software..... One of my components was the ASUS P9X79 also with Realtek audio. Back then i had the g430 or atleast one that really looks like the g430. When i bought the pc they gave me a 20 euro usb soundcard where i ofcourse had to plug my headset in. Back then i didnt think of it or find it weird. Later in May 2016 i bought new headphones (audio-technica ath-m30x) and a mic (audio-technica at2020usb+) It this point i knew allot more about computers so i pluged my new fresh headphones in my mobo and WOW the sound is really really loud I did some research and well couldn't find anything... So i connect my new headphones to my mic. The audio was pretty bad and there where sometimes electronic noises but except that.... It was ok. End of 2016 i bought a x99 cpu from Ebay but that a whole other story. I also bought the strix x99 motherboard. Also from Asus. I thought i would finally be able to use my audio from the pc itself. I thought the really loud sound problem was just a problem with that one motherboard... it wasnt. So im hyped new cpu, new mobo and working audio. I plug my headphones in and WOOW Still really loud. I tested some random headphones. They all have the problem, still couldn't find anything online so yeah. Today, 2018 i wanted to buy new headphones. I was first thinking of the audio-technica ath-m50x but those have a 3.5 audio jack and well i would still have to plug them in my mic.... So i started thinking of a headset with USB because this would not use the soundcard from my pc. So i thought.... The G633 from Logitech still had the same problem WAY to loud. At this point i just only had one option an that was to ask you guys. So i was thinking on part has never been changed in my pc the last 4 years and thats my PSU Could this be the problem maker? Or i was also thinking about buying a sound mixer of some sort. But i dont have any knowledge in audio things so i would need some advise from one of you guys Thanks ALLOT for reading and helping me in this problem!! And im sincerely sorry for my bad english. Asus has revealed some new boards to their x99, to go together with the upcoming Intel Broadwell-E processors. They added some new features and different style than their current X99 line up. All of their new X99 boards will feature Aura lighting, with their Deluxe II, X99-A II, and Strix X99 having additional 4 pin header for adding extra light strips. A improved fan header, providing up to 3A of power for high performance and industrial fans. Borrowing from their Z170 line up, is their water pump header, dedicated for AIO cooling. The water pump header is dual mode, that means it can be used as that or as a fan header. And SSD Secure erase, where they introduced it in their Z170 line up. SSD Secure Erase isn't new, it goes way back to, I think their Z87 ROG boards. Starting with their entry level X99, we have the Asus X99-E. With a MSRP of $219, it's the cheapest out of the 4. It supports up to DDR4 3200MHz, at 128GB max. Has 3 physical x16 slots, where you can add up to 3 graphic cards for 3-way SLI or 3-way CFX. 10x SATA ports and a M.2. There is no U.2 because Asus thinks who ever buys these boards are most likely on a budget and probably won't be getting a server grade SSD or HDD that uses it. On the back we have some USB 2.0, 3.0 and a 3.1 Type C. Intel Gigabit lan and audio outputs. Next is their Asus X99-A II. It has 8x DDR4 DIMM slots that goes up to DDR4 3333MHz. 4x Physical x16 slots, supporting 3-way SLI and CFX. 10x SATA, 1x U.2, and a M.2. Asus also includes a special cpu installation tool to help beginners, so they don't damage the socket on the motherboard. Price of this, has a MSRP of $249. At the top of their Signature series, there is the Asus X99 Deluxe II. This board has almost all the bells and whistles a user would probably want. There are 5x physical x16 slots, with 4 of them that metal plated, supports 3-way SLI and CFX, although you can run quadruple gpus at x8/x8/x8/x8, so maybe 4-way SLI? Dual Intel gigabit lan, 10x SATA ports, although 2 of them are place at a odd position. A vertical M.2 and 2x U.2 for server grade and NVMe drives. As with the Deluxe, you can expect it to come bundle with a bunch of accessories and they have done just that. Along with the included M.2 x4 PCIe card, 5-pin fan controller hub, you also get their Thunderbolt EX3 PCIe card that has USB 3.1 type A and type C connector, where their type C can work as standard USB 3.1 or Thunderbolt 3, providing up to 40Gb/s of bandwidth. As with the amount of feature on the Asus X99-Deluxe II, we can expect to carry a heavy price premium and it's no surprise this board carries a MSRP of $419. Their newest board to the ROG line up is the Asus Strix X99 Gaming. Unlike the Signature series, which features a white design, the Strix X99 Gaming has a black design with orange accents that was seen on some of their other ROG boards like the Z170 Extreme Assembly. According to Asus, this board is is a mix of their Asus X99-A II and X99 Deluxe II. What you get is the same number of PCIe slot like the X99-A II, and also has built in WiFi and Bluetooth just like the X99 Deluxe II. The difference in the WiFi and Bluetooth is, this one runs at 2x2 instead of 3x3. On the connectivity side, there are 10x SATA ports, a single M.2 as well as a U.2 connector. On the ROG side of things, this board also features their GameFirst IV where it will prioritize your games packet first before any other applications and ROG RAM Cache, where ram can be allocated for cache purposes, to boost drive performance. The Asus Strix X99 Gaming comes in at $339.
