(I tried the one of the other AMD EXPOs as well with the same results) Anyways..any idea why I'm getting 35 second boot times on? Its not that big of a deal but man I didn't know my 7 year old system would be booting so much faster than my brand new one which in my head means I did something wrong in the BIOS even though, as I said, I've only done one setting. Hello everyone, The story: At first I had sm961 256GB which was fast enough ( I mean boot time was very short) but after 2 years of using it started slow booting of windows10 and when I checked the health status of ssd it was 96% and 13.5TB writes which is not so bad but despite of this I changed to 970pro (new) which has much more speed and endurance. The problem: My laptop Asus Rog G752VS OC Edition with 970pro 512gb boots very slowly (even shutdown/restart process is long) the time it needs to boot windows 10/11 is 23 seconds. I tried fresh install of windows 10/11 with different versions of OS,drivers,nvme drivers,bios (moded also),RAM modules and quantities (1 slot,2 slots,3 slots,4 slots) and also tried different nvme ssd models but with no luck. Also I did crystaldiskmark test and got the result 970pro provides at maximum speed. Checked with AIDA64 software as well and got maximum speed.Also when I checked pcie controller speeds it showed pcie 2.0 speed at x4 bandwidth which I don't know is current speed when I don't use it or maximum negotiated speed (maybe it's current speed because read/write test shows 3500MB/2300MB). I checked specs with hwinfo64 as well and got x4 8GT/s which is equal to PCIe 3.0 4x (4x985MB/s) that is the speed 970pro can transfer (laptop supports pcie3.0 x4 as well) at maximum load (PCIe 3.0 4x) but despite of this windows 10 boots very slowly. Also I have to mention that when I run 970pro test at full load it makes low level noise. Hello, I've had some trouble with my PC because it takes 209 seconds to start up every time, and I don't understand why. It has been going on for a bit so I had to update my hard drive to an M.2 NVMe by Samsung but nothing has changed. Here are the specs in my PC that may be handfully. Hiya all, Booting into windows takes several minutes. I have 2xSamsung SSD's in raid 0 for windows. Booting from bios is quick, no problems, but once it starts booting into windows it takes several minutes with the windows loading dots going around. This has been happening for several months but was lazy to find a fix, but now I got upset about it and looking for a fix ? I thought it was my 6TB HDD but unplugging it had to effect on this, my PC is in my signature. Any ideas? Edit: For some reason when I boot Firefox starts up same place as I leave it or even if I close it before shutting down it starts up when booting on the last youtube video I watched if that's the last thing it was open with

Hello I recently ran out of SATA Data ports on my Motherboard. Therefor I got an old raid card installed in a free PCIe x16 slot. However with the card in, it takes about 10 minutes for windows to start. Start sequence: - Raid card starts - Scanning for device at port 0 (about 1-5 min) - Scanning for device at port 1 (about 1-5 min) - Scanning for device at port 2 (about 1-5 min) - Scanning for device at port 3 (about 1-5 min) - Motherboard boot screen (Option to go into bios here) - Windows 10 startup I would like to to not take 10 minutes to boot into windows. The raid card is in the 2nd x16 slot (First one reserved for my GPU) Raid card controller: Adaptec SATA Serial ATA II Raid 1430SA (Running V6.0.0) CPU: I7-6700K Motherboard: MSI Z170A GAMING M5 (Bios v. 1.H0) GPU: GTX 960 Power: 550W Generic PSU

Hello Everyone, this is my first post here: I hope I'll make my self clear and provide all the information needed in order to get some help. This is my case: a week ago I bought this build. Now, why did I choose that particular MB among all the alternatives? I needed a native vga output for my 19" 1280*1024 lcd screen in the first place, and I didn't want to rely on any HDMI-VGA or DVI-VGA adapter. Secondly, I was flattered by the idea of some vrm coolers and, most importantly, 4 ram slots instead of two sounded good for better -and cheaper- future upgradability. Putting all this together, and keeping in mind that I buy on Amzn Italy (which has may be a smaller range of alternatives compared to other markets or marketplaces) this seemed like a good choice to me. And I still think it is. Only with some issues. 1. Fast startup disabled in order to correctly detect screen During the first launches the display automatically switched to 800*600 px resolution, and if forced to its optimal settings 1280*1024 it went blank. Even with my little knowledge I thought it was a driver issue so I went on and installed the amd radeon software: not the latest one though (Adrenalin 2020 Edition 20.9.1 Optional), but, as you can see from the page, the one provided by the auto-detect and install software (Adrenalin 2020 Edition 20.4.2 Recommended (WHQL)). After that, the resolution issue was gone and I could easily work at 1280*1024.. or so I thought.. When the computer was turned on in fact, the display went black at the MB's splash screen and turned off while the pc kept on with the boot: of course you couldn't see anything because the screen was blank so I had to reboot manually from the front panel switch. Following the advice of some other forumers, I swtiched off the fast startup setting in W10 and this particular issue was gone: it always boots correctly now and the display is always detected. I still don't understand the reason for this though.. Let's move on with the second issue now: the slow spash screen time. I understand it's a quite common problem but I really don't like it on a new piece of hardware.. let me provide you with some high quality video footage while I write the second part of the story https://imgur.com/a/ygjAjgq

So my problem is the following : i`m using windows 7 with all the latest updates and for some time now the boot speed has been slowly increasing and increasing untill its now 5 minutes after i put the password in the log in screen, the screen goes black and all i see is the cursor. After a trial and error run throught msconfig i found the bastard that was causeing this : network store interface service So i disabled it and it worked awsome..but then i hit another problem... once i disable the service i can not connect to the internet anymore. Has anyone else encountered this problem ? PS : This is the pc at my workplace so reinstalling/formating windows would mean a LOT of backing up to do... Thanks !

Hi. So i recently bought the new Intel Pcie 750 SSD. Which uses the Nvme standard. Firstly i checked whether my Motherboard supported the SSD and it did. (MSI x99s gaming 9) So i've installed win 8.1 and everything seems ok. But that's it. I dont feel like i boot up that fast, not as fast as i really wanted it to. So i looked into it, made sure T.R.I.M was enabled. Checked if Fast Boot was. But it really didnt seem to impact the start up time that much. Then i benchmarked the sucker and found a comparison online, and i get lower write speeds than other, and about the same read speeds. but a lower overall score. (using AS SSD benchmark) I have several HDD and a spare SSD installed on my system. But The HDD has literally nothing on them, and has nothing to do with the boot sequence to do. The SSD (Samsung EVO840) only has like one game installed. When i launch Intel Toolbox it doesn't really recognize the PCIE SSD, it knows it's name, but i'm unable to update the Firmware. So i downloaded it from Intel's website, and installed it. I didn't feel any difference. It feels like buying a brand new graphics card and not be able to install the driver for it. Yeah it shows the screen, and yeah it can handle something. But it doesnt feel like it's using it's full potential. What can be affecting my boot time? i feel like its just as fast or maybe a bit slower when i had the SATA SSD installed. Or did i just expect to much from Pcie nvme???? I have attached Screenshots of AS SSD and Intel Tooltip. EDIT* startup time is 37.5 seconds from power bottom press until win 8 is fully loaded.
