hello i have recently found an old monitor of mine which i intend to use a second monitor only problem is that i don't have the original power supply i want to order one only problem is that the only one i find was a 12v 2a and in the back it states 12v 3.3a (i used my routers cable to see if it would turn on a {a 12v 1.1A} and it did I'm just wondering if it only turns on or it would actually let me use it (I didn't have an video cable to make sure) its a 17" LCD monitor Bluesonic model is : 7005L3 i only need it to turn on, not looking for maximum performance

I am trying to reuse an old laptop screen as a second monitor for my PC. I have it hooked up using this controller board, which only accepts DP input. The laptop this screen came from runs the second display just fine, but when I plug the DP cable into my PC I get a flickering screen (and when the screen is briefly on, all I see is static). I've successfully gotten the screen working with the PC in safe mode and by disabling the graphics card. But the moment the graphics card drivers come into play, the screen goes back to flickering. I have the latest drivers from NVidia for my graphics card. At this point I'm pretty sure it's the drivers on the graphics card, since the screen works in safe mode and BIOS. Should I just try older drivers one by one? Any other sources for this problem that I don't know of? My specs are: Windows 10 Home 64 bit MSI PRO B450M PRO-M2 MAX AM4 (BIOS version A.70, latest) AMD Ryzen 5 3600 (no overclocking), stock cooler 2x16GB G.Skill Ripjaws V DDR4-3200 (3200MHz XMP profile 1) Gigabyte GTX 1650 Super Windforce OC 4G Crucial P2 NVMe M.2 SSD, 500GB EVGA 500W 80+

i currently have an acer xb271hu 27in 1440p 165hz refresh rate. im looking for a new second screen. should i go with a 24-27 1080p monitor or a 32in or bigger 4k monitor?

(First time posting on here :D) Hello, so my sister recently gave me her TV and I wanted to use it as a second screen however my graphics card only has display ports available but the new monitor only has hdmi so I bought a hdmi to display port cable however it isn't working. Do I need to get a new monitor with a display port built in it? Or am I doing something wrong? I have tried different sources on the TV but still nothing. Any help will be much appreciated. Alright, so I have been having this issue for quite a while now and can't seem to find any fix for it, on startup (usually a cold boot) my second screen(DVI) will go all static right after showing the BIOS flash screen and my main monitor(DisplayPort) doesn't get an image at all, although waiting a little while after the static the second monitor will now display the windows logon screen, which should be on my main monitor instead. I suspect it's something with windows not being able to detect my displayport on startup which results in my main monitor never to receive an image, but the weird part of that is it will no longer show the "No Signal" sign on the screen, it will go black like it's receiving a signal but just not receiving an image. I forgot to mention that my DVI screen is the monitor that gets the BIOS flash screen and then after the flash screen it will transfer the image over to my main monitor which is the DisplayPort. Also windows will now sometimes re-arrange the icons on my desktop even without this issue happening, I don't have auto arrange icons or allowed themes to change icon position and I suspect this is a result of the same issue maybe. Hi all! A friend of mine, who like karaoke, asked me something I tried to search myself but with no results. What he wants is to "pin" the youtube video player on the second screen (fullscreen) and on the main screen he wants to be able to search and choose the video (or next video) to play always on the second screen. This "function" reminds me alot the chromecast, where you stream to a screen the video you chose without seeing it on the main monitor, and at the same time you don't see what you are doing/searching on the display where you stream the video. I hope that this description is not confusionary! Also I want to add that this friend of mine is not an expert, so if there is a solution to this problem it must be simple as possible, if possible obviously! Thanks in advance!

I am running Windows 10 on 1 machine, 3 years old, but it works, mostly. I have it hooked up to HD monitor and 1 Samsung HD TV. I have used cloned screens, 1 picture on a 1|2 setup, so both always show the same, and i have used it as an expanded desktop, so 1+2, but, that is not much use if you cannot see it. So sure, i could just keep it cloned, BUT, if you want a movie to play on the TV for one person to watch, and i want to keep doing something else in the PC, i know that is possible with expanded desktop, and i know i can drag a video in there and fullscreen it, but it's not really a great solution, it actually pretty much sucks balls. I know there are apps to control the PC from a distance, either use my iphone and or ipad as a mouse, with Remote Mouse (what's in a name) which is still useless, or even as a screen on distance, like Splashtop, but that doesn;t solve me being able to do something else on the PC monitor, and i have not tried both the Remote Mouse or the Splashtop on multi monitor setups, i wonder if that works well at all. So, what have i gotten into my mind that i want ? Well, i like virtual desktops, so i can switch between activities and have all kinds of screens open for looking stuff up and moving data and installing stuff and changing some graphics on another so i dont have to keep screwing around since just Alt+Tab won't do enough and minimizing all kinds of windows just plain sux. I have programmed 2 keys to switch desktops with WinKey+Ctrl+Left and WinKey+Ctrl+Right really fast. So could i solve this by making a Desktop 3 or 4 or whatever, and have only that show on the HD TV ? Like lock 1 Virtual Desktop to 1 screen ? That way that will just keep going whatever i do and i can keep switchnig and working on my own PC using it's own (Virtual) Desktops. Yes, this may be a weird solution and a weird ask, and i have trouble getting this done or even finding anything about it. And i feel this is right one of those crazy things LTT would do a video on to figure out even though it is something really almost nobody uses much. Though i do think that if it was easy, open a desktop, set it to share that only to just one extra screen would be cool and handy. Is there any way to do this ? Or something similar ? I need to just be able to have only one desktop show up at that one TV, my PC and Monitor should be able to access all. I hope, and think, you guys know what i mean. It would be even cooler if even the sound could be split the audio as well, but i do not see that happening ? If it was possible to only use that Desktops' Audio to that TV that would be great, but i don't think i can, my Gigabyte GA-Z97X-SLI mobo has no Digital Audio Out, just the Black/Green/Orange/Blue/Pink/Grey standard, split to both a Logitech Z-5500 for the Movie watching and the PC has it's own Creative Surround Set, I don't know if i could do the audio over HDMI to the TV ? I do have the TV's audio together with a console's audio over Digital Audio to the Z-5500, so i f there was some way to split that up that would be even better, but that's not even an ask, i would be fine with just the TV being only able to see the on Virtual Desktop, i'd still be able to do my own thing on the PC as long as it doesn;t make too much sound, which is fine with most web browsing and office work and Photoshop etc. So, do i even have a hope in hell to fix one Desktop to one TV/Monitor ?

Hey guys I had the problem before and even postet a thread which was solved. But after installing Windows on my new SSD the problem is back again and it's coming back again, again, and again.... I have no graphics card in my PC and use intels onboard only. At first I thought I have to install all graphics drivers and it will be solved..and it was. But after rebooting I can not choose TV as a sound source. So I installed the driver again, and it worked. At least until I rebooted. Now there is again no sound available from the TV and I will have to install the driver again. Can someone tell me what to do?!

Evening, some time ago my second monitor started acting a little bit weird when trying to switch content into full screen mode. It seems like the whole full screen window moves to the bottom right corner and the desktop background can be seen on the left and top side. It never occurred befor so I dont really know what the cause is As you can see here I hope someone can help me with this, many thanks in advance

Recently switched from to windows 10 and now whenever I'm playing a game on my primary monitor, the video playing on my second monitor starts lagging. Searched online and found out many other people are having the same issue, but none of the solutions worked for me. The game I am playing is set to borderless windowed What I did so far: Upped the priority of chrome in task manager The resolution of both monitors is the same (1920x1080) (144hz) Changed the multmedia settings in the power options ''when playing video'' Scaling is set to 100% on both monitors Tried using edge instead of chrome Tried having both monitors connected to 1 gpu and also connecting them to different gpu's. Some people said to uninstall geforce experience but im recording videos alot with shadowplay Cant find hardware acceleration options in windows 10, dont know if that has anything to do with it. Both monitors are iiyama Prolite GB2773HS Windows 10 home 64bit i5-4670k 16gb ddr3 @ 1600mhz GTX 760 Thanks in advance

Good Morning everyone! At work I use a 27in iMac (30.5 LB) and an Asus PB238Q (18.5 LB). I want to put them on a monitor stand so I can get them off my desk. My Desk Setup My 27in iMac is caddy cornered in the corner with a desk grommet directly behind it. my PB238Q is to the right of it propped up on a box. My Dilemma I need to get a monitor stand that will go in the Grommet hole so my iMac can be centered on the hole and a monitor arm will extend out to the right to support my PB238Q. i don't need a third monitor arm because to my left is where i meet with clients so i will never put a monitor in front of their faces... lol *there is no place to clamp a stand behind my desk* My Question Does anyone have an recommendations for a good monitor stand that can mount my iMac on the main pole and only have one arm that can extend to the right?
