So I'm looking to get the Evoc P775DM3-G and on I'm the customization part. http://www.hidevolution.com/evoc-clevo-p775dm3-g-custom-built-gaming-desktop-replacement-laptop.html So I just learned about the M.2 slot and I was wondering if I should get one. I definitely want 1TB of storage but from what I read the only way to make it worth it is to get the Samsung 960 EVO 1TB M.2 PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe 3D-VNAND SSD - Up to 3,200 MB/s Read-1,900 MB/s Write +$530.00 I plan on using this laptop for gaming, watching movies and I was wondering if it was worth the extra 200 dollars?

I would like someones' advice on using Samsung 960 Pro 512GB NVMe SSD in a computer build. Specifically, I would like to know if there would be any gain in transfer speed by using a 2nd one in a RAID0 configuration on a Gigabyte AORUS GA-Z270X-Gaming 5 motherboard. My concern is that it is a substantial amount of money to drop for an SSD if there will be no transfer-speed-from-permanent-storage performance gain. I would like to know if the data pipe is w i d e enough to ensure that the 2nd drive would result in a significant boost in performance for the permanent storage in terms of speed.

Regarding the SAMSUNG 960 PRO M.2 512GB how should it be connected ??? Is M.2 connection and PCI-e 3.0 will give same speed ??? Basically I dont know where this type of device connect on the mother board and if there is more than one option to connect it for faster access from/to the CPU I am building a computer that will be used by me as a video editor and by my roommate as a gamer This is all new to me so Im not sure I understand the different connection possibilities for this device the motherboard and all other components are listed below ... Hi everyone, I will be building my very first system. Even though it's my first time, I'm not new to pc's. I'm a software engineer that has used nothing but laptops so far. But I wanted to make sure that I do everything correctly, hence the reason I'm here asking questions. 1. My initial and most important question is, about installing windows 10 on Samsung 960 pro. I ordered a Maximus VIII Hero Alpha Motherboard. I read about all these things about CSM and Secure Boot for just installing windows 10 on it. But couldn't find a proper explanation why people do these steps. And most tutorials being 1 year old I'm asking here, what needs to be done to utulize the 960 pro to it's upmost potential as a windows 10 boot drive? Mainly asking about any mother board configurations. Also if anything needs to be done/installed after installation, as I will be going to the samsung driver page and install what will be necessary, but Asking just to make sure. And also if possible an explanation next to the steps, so that I can learn what I'm doing would be VERY helpful. 2. My 2nd question is about overclocking the CPU, So far all I did in terms of overclocking CPU on a laptop was raising the Turbo boost power time limit + raising the turbo boost frequencies. So as I saw from many older videos on the internet, the main step is of course raising your multipliers, but what about the rest? If I overclock the CPU, do I HAVE to overclock ram too? What about other factors such as Cache? And most importantly, how do I play with voltages? Do I have to tinker with voltages? if so which ones? and how much? I'd rather have a nice stable overclock, not looking to push the limits of the CPU. FYI, CPU I ordered: i7 6700K, Ram: 32GB Corsair vengence DDR 3000mhz, and CPU cooler: Corsair H115i 280mm radiator. 3. Do I need to update motherboard firmware? If so can it simply be done within windows? Or are installing drivers of the motherboard enough? So yeah, if you can add anything else I should be aware of when building a new pc, please let me know. Hi guys. Does anyone know if the Samsung 960 Pro NVMe SSD is compatible with the ROG Maximus VII Gene motherboard. The motherboard will take out all the speed of the SSD? This question for a couple of years I have in mind and can not find anyone with the answer anywhere. My Rig is: CPU: i5 4690k MB: Maximus VII Gene. RAM: Corsair Vengence 16GB 2400MHz Cooler: Corsair H100i GPU: R9 280X. PSU: Corsair RM850 Case: Corsair Obsidian 350D. If someone can help me? Thanks in advance.

Can I use the intel 900p 480gb with a 1tb 960 pro and a 860 pro 1tb

I want to upgrade my ssd to a faster and more size. I currently have 512GB, and I want 1 Tb because current 512GB is not enough for my work. Now, I want faster and 1TB. I'm in doubt for 960 evo and pro. Which will be good for me if I do quite a lot of Matlab, Solidworks, and CNC work. Plus usual gaming as well, but no video editing.
