Hello everyone! I have a Ryzen 7 1700x with a GA-AB350M-Gaming 3 motherboard that needs a RAM upgrade from 16 GB to 32 GB. I have 2 sticks of 8 GB that run at 2400 MHz, and I was wondering if I could buy new 3200 MHz sticks that would still run in dual channel. I'm aware that the BIOS will default the frequency to 2400 MHz, but I would like to buy the higher speed RAM for future proof (If I reuse it on other build), or reselling factor. So, do can I buy 3200 MHz RAM, even if they run at 2400 MHz, or do I need to buy 2400 MHz DIMMs? If I have to buy 2400 MHz sticks, I'm aware that they preferably should be of the same brand and model, but is that completely necessary? Thanks!

Hello! I'm going to buy a new CPU for my PC for better editing and rendering. I'm mainly thinking between one AMD cpu and two Intel cpu's. From intel I thought I would buy the 6700k (360 €) or 7700k (393 €) and from AMD I thought I would buy the 1700X (450 €) My max budget is 400 € but if the extra 50 € is worth on the 1700X I can pay the 50 € extra (the 1700 cost 390 €). What CPU do you guys recommend and why? I still have to buy a new motherboard with OC and SLI support too, doesn't matter if it's AMD or Intel CPU. Thank you!

Just wanted to share some pics of my recent builds. The NZXT S340 is my newest project. Project name "MoonLightRyzen" A Ryzen 7 1700x on a Crosshair VI Hero with a GTX 1070 for my daughter. She built most of the computer and I helped mostly with cable management and that's about it. She's 8 years old by the way, lol. The Deep Cool Genome case is my dedicated PC that I use for everything. Project name: "RedDragonV3.0" It's running an FX-8350 on a TUF Sabertooth 990fx rev 3 and another GTX 1070. Although an older processor, I love this system. It's overclocked to 4.7ghz and the temps are extremely low for an FX series chip. Never really gets over 60 degrees even under 100% load. The last pic is some left over parts I built my brother a PC with. All he had to do was get a chip (he went with an FX-8350 as well) and video card (GTX 960 cause he found it for next to nothing) Doing some changes to the Ryzen 7, so will share some more pics when it's complete. The Deep Cool captain 240 is getting exchanged for an NZXT Kraken X62 and some other little things. Next project will be a custom water loop, maybe on a Threadripper...... Thanks for looking! Hello! I'm going to upgrade my motherboard to Aorus Gaming K7 X370 AM4 and my CPU to R7 1700 or 1700X. I'm now trying to decide between those two CPUs. 1700 costs 350€ and 1700X 400€. I have the Kraken X52 liquid cooler bought so I wouldn't use the cooler that comes with the 1700. I would OC the CPU, but maybe not the max, at least not yet, because I'm new to overclocking and I don't wanna break anything . My original plan was to use all the money that I have saved up for the 1700X, but now I have been thinking that maybe I should get the 1700 and save 50€ and use it for some cable extension, LEDs or something else to make my setup make little bit nicer. Oh and my GPU is a GTX 1060 6 GB if that information is needed. What do you guys think, which CPU should I get? Thank you!

They said they checked it with another motherboard and same thing happen with my processor. Can it be happen? I have tried fresh windows 2 times. And they said they checked it with fresh windows also. Is this really issue with my processor?

Hey all So ive been setting up the overclock on my Ryzen 7 1700X, Ive managed to get a stable 3.9GHz on all 8 cores at 1.39v. But Ive seen some readings as high as 1.44... That seems concerning. I have noticed that it seems like just about every app gives me a different voltage and I dont know who to believe... In BIOS I set vcore to 1.39375 (and SOC is 1.6875 btw) Ryzen Master reads exactly that and never fluctuates, which leads me to believe its not measuring anything, its just reading what its set to from BIOS. HWInfo reads vcore at 1.394 at idle, dipping to 1.362 at load. (btw before I raised LLC to 3 and SOC to 1.68v it read 1.387v at idle with the same vcore setting on BIOS). iCUE tells me VCPU from the motherboard is anywhere from 1.42 to 1.44. I cant find a VCPU on HWinfo but VDDR CPU reads as high as 1.469 at load and 1.384 at idle. And OCCT thinks my vcore fluctuates between about 1.3 and 2.7v...right... so who the hell is right?? what voltage is going to my damn cpu?!? lol I was hoping to keep my voltage under 1.4v. I think I might even be able to come down from 1.39375 vcore, I dont think the base voltage was the problem, I think the vdroop was the issue and upping the LLC seems to have addressed that. And honestly, it was stable even before I upped the LLC, it was only OCCT that said it found errors. Even realbench said my OC passed. And just btw, temps are reasonable, 81* while running OCCT (thats what has gotten it hottest), while folding it hits 77* (which is a sustained load it will see frequently so thats what I care about more). So who is right? and does it look like im hurting anything? Thanks everyone! Cheers, ~ari Hardware: Ryzen 7 1700X H115i cooler ASUS ROG STRIX X370-F mobo EVGA GTX 1070 SC 32GB G.Skill TridentZ RAM (3000MHz running at 2993) Corsair RM1000i psu and 9 different drives because im dumb... I also added a 140mm Noctua fan on the bottom to add more air, even though it was just fine before. I wish that I remembered to take more pictures of the building but I guess I was distracted and in a hurry to get it done for whatever reason, and just completely forgo

I recently finished putting my rig together with a Ryzen 7 1700x, a GTX 1080, 8gb of DDR4 2400 MHz, and 1 TB of HDD. I left a lot of bays empty for now until I get more funds, but the issue I've been experiencing is every once in awhile the screen freezes and then everything goes back to normal as if it didn't happen. I have no way of replicating this and I've tried various games to see if any of them were the issue but it really is random and I can't stop it. I'm updated to 391.01 for my GPU. Any suggestions?

I've been kinda confused lately about what parts i should pick. I'm gonna game a 1080p 144fps 80% of the time, and stream 960p 30 or 60fps 20% of the time. This is the build i originally planned: Case - NZXT S340 Elite PSU - Corsair CX550M SSD - Corsair LE200 240GB RAM - Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3000MHz 16GB Motherboard - ASUS ROG Strix X370-F Gaming GPU - MSI GTX 1070 Ti ARMOR CPU - Ryzen 7 1700X I think it's ok for streaming and gaming. But if you have any other suggestion (change it all up if necessary) pls lemme kno

Hello! I have a system with a Ryzen 7 1700x on a MSI B350 Tomahawk MOBO. I recently went into the BIOS to try and overclock a little above my stock frequency (I don't do a lot of high intensity stuff, so I don't need a significant overclock) and in the BIOS it would not allow me to overclock the CPU at all. I can overclock the RAM, but it won't let me change any values of the CPU frequency. Any ideas for how to fix this?

Been awhile since I've posted at all. Been busy busy, but I wanted to share as my new (or revised) build comes along. I finally got to pre-order a Define R6 in White with TG. So as I wait for that order to be filled, I started to piece together a custom water loop. I'm currently using a Core P3 as a test bench of sorts to get everything up and running. Don't mind the messy state the PC is currently in. Trust me, it drives me nuts, but the P3 makes it easy for me to try different things and get everything figured out. Currently I'm just using the soft tubing since of course I'm not going to bend a bunch of tubing until I get the actual case. Today the last of the parts arrived including the water temp sensor, the 14mm/10mm tubing and the fittings. Now I'm literally just waiting for the case and to figure out which water blocks to get for the Asus Strix GTX 1070's. Finding those seems to be the hardest part of this build so far. Well ones that I like and will work with these cards. Will update with more progress as soon as the Define R6 gets here. Looking like that probably won't be until sometime in Feb. Could definitely use some suggestions on coolant to use. I was almost thinking I might just stick with clear, but the Mayhem Silver keeps catching my eye. First pics from the original build in the S340 Elite which now houses a budget FX-8350 build. I honestly was not happy with the airflow in the S340 at all. The case is great and very nice to build in, but it makes better use as a home budget gaming build. Definitely wasn't as water cooling friendly as the Define R6 should be. Next pics of the current set up. Again, just soft tubing and testing the system out. Same overlock and voltage settings netted a almost complete 20*c difference at load temps. Previously with the Kraken X62 in aida64 max load temps was around 72*c. In the current open air chassis with water loop it barely brakes 50*c. I'm sure that will change once it's in a case, but I also have another rad to add to the system and then the gpu's. Last pic the budget FX-8350. Parts: Asus Crosshair VI Hero Ryzen 7 1700x @ 3.9ghz G-Skill TridentZ 32gb @ 3000mhz Asus ROG Strix GTX 1070 x 2 Corsiar RM850x White Samsung 960 EVO 250gb M.2 Samsung 850 EVO Pro 512gb x 2 Seagate Firecuda 2tb & Barracuda 3tb Cooling: XSPC Raystorm PRO CPU Water block XSPC AX360 & AX240 rads XSPC Photon Pump/Res combo XSPC 10k Temp Sensor XSPC Fittings Bitfenix Spectre Pro 120mm fans (trying to figure out which and if to use rgb fans) XSPC 14mm/10mm PETG Tubing Looking forward to start bending some tubes!

The price match with Staples might take some effort. Basically, if they try and claim it's a Black Friday deal, point them to the MC Black Friday sale items and that this one isn't among them. Other than that, it's a damn good deal and best of luck. http://www.microcenter.com/product/485473/Ryzen_7_1700X_34_GHz_8_Core_AM4_Boxed_Processor
