Budget (including currency): 2500USD. Country: USA Aim: Mainly to be used as a photo editing computer. The current desk setup includes a single 4k 60Hz monitor, but I may add a second in the future. Programs: Adobe Lightroom Classic/Photoshop, very occasional very casual gaming (AC, Halo, etc) I've never assembled a computer before and so I am looking to be caught here on any caveats I may have missed. Will the components fit in the case? Am I missing something in the list below like: extra case fans cables thermal grease The intent is for the computer to be a small-form-factor build, that will run as quiet as possible, while performing photo-editing tasks, offloading camera cards, and exporting images. I understand that the SFF requirement is a compromise to this, but frankly I need the space for all my desk clutter. I can try to justify the choices made below, but looking for any areas where I could improve without overspending. I would also like to keep power consumption lower during standard use (web browsing, etc) to keep the temperature rise in the room down (need to get rid of the ~400W of heat generation out of here somehow). Also do I need any tools? I have standard tools, iFixit driver set, inspection mirror, caulking gun, so I should be good for most things I think. JUSTIFICATIONS CPU: I understand that the single threaded performance needed for Lightroom is somewhere that Intel excels, but why am I choosing an i9? I hear that these chips are better suited for undervolting, which could lower power consumption (heat generation) and keep the fans running at lower speed for longer. CPU Cooler: Noctua good I hear? The cooler looks like it fits and not a terrible price. Motherboard: Why the Z board? Not sure if the overclocking capability (not what I intend to do) is required for the undervolting. Supports DDR5, which I hear is not a substantial improvement on DDR4, but I see it as "future-proofing". Memory: 64 GBs, really? Yea there are a few other workflows I run for data processing that do benefit from high memory capacity. I have heard that high memory amounts can slow certain processes, so welcome to hearing any foreboding warnings. Other than that I just recognize Gskill as reliable and they are DDR5 which again, I'm not sure is really necessary. Storage: I already have the drives Video Card: I don't really know what it is that I do which is graphics intensive, though I am concerned that the onboard graphics will not be able to drive 1-2 4k monitors. Case: Looks neat. ITX. Let me know if you have any suggestions, but I am looking for something unassuming. Power Supply: Ignorant here. I assume that the titanium designation means that unit is more efficient and therefore producing less excess heat for the power conversion. I have an old Dell Optiplex 7010 DT, and it currently doesn't have a graphics card. I want to change that and get one, as playing without it is... painful. So, I've been thinking about which one to get, considering my budget. The only GPU that seems to make sense within my budget is the RX 550 (I think?). However, I'm not sure if it's possible for such a GPU to run on a power supply that only has 250 watts. Another minor concern is whether the GPU will even fit into the DT Optiplex? (XD) PC Specs: CPU: i5 - 3470 GPU: None RAM: 8GB 1333 MHz Storage: 500 HDD (planning to buy an SSD, lol.) PSU: 250W

Hello, im new here. Preamble: I have recently purchased a new pc and I have been building it over the course of the last couple of months and I am very much stuck when it comes to which power cables I need to use where. I have looked at the PSU manual and the mono manual, and I have googled persistantly to seemingly no avail so I have come here as I am told this is the be-all-and-end-all of pc building help. Problems: I have two issues (parts list at end). Firstly when connecting my PSU to my Motherboard I have a 20+4 pin connector on my mobo which fits one end of the PSU cable but on the other end of that cable I have a 24+4 pin connection and I have no idea what to do with the extra 4 pins. There is an extra 4 pin socket on the PSU which is labelled motherboard but idk if that is needed for my mobo as I can't find any info online and I am worried that if I plug in that cable and power the system on it will burn out my motherboard as there is too much power. Secondly my mobo has two sockets for the CPU power, one 8 pin (labled EATX12V_1 in manual) and one 4 pin (tabled EATX12V_2 in manual). I have connected them up using two 8pin to 4+4pin cables. both of the 8 pin ends are in the PSU and I have plugged one whole 4+4 pin cable into the 8pin on the mobo and for the 4pin socket I have plugged in half of the other 4+4 and left the extra 4 pin on the cable dangling. Is this correct? I have no cable on my psu that goes into only a 4 pin connection so I assumed that this was the only choice I had. I have read online that the sole 4 pin CPU power connection is not necessary but I don't know if the information that I read relates to my exact setup. PC Specs: CPU: Ryzen 7 5800x MOBO: ASUS ROG Strix b550-a gaming PSU: Silverstone ST85F-GS 850w V2.0 RAM: Kingston Hyper-x Predator 3600mhz 2x8gb GPU: GTX 980 (waiting to upgrade to 3080 at some pint in the future) Case: Thermatake S300 TG Snow Edition Any help would be greatly appreciated. If I am in the wrong place please could you tell me where might be more appropriate?

Budget (including currency): Around 11.000R$(BRL) or 2182.88$ (USD) Country: Brazil but I can by stuff on the US if necessary Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Steam and games like Total War Wahammer, Minecraft, Monster Hunter World, Warframe, Osu and probably a lot more in the future. Running a few Intellij windows and compiling software I work on, also painting in illustrator. Data hoarding a little. I also want to use discord, listen to music and browse the internet(such as youtube and stackoverflow) in my second monitor while I do the things mentioned above. Other details : My current computer is having a hard time in some games like total war warhammer making playing with my friends impossible sometimes since total war disconnects you from a session if you take too long to load, also the game goes to 15 fps in the bigger battles (Using the lowest settings), also minecraft can become very slow when using more then 200 mods. As for work its ok as it is buy it does become a little slow when I have a few windows in intellij as well as the browser open. I would like to play at medium to high settings in games and still be able to have a few things in the background like a youtube video, discord and/or music and the same goes for when Im working. I have a lot of cds so I would also like to have an optical drive for it and since I cant find a graphics card at a reasonable price right now I was thinking of sticking to my 1050Ti and upgrade later to a 3060Ti when the chip shortage is resolved. My current build has an i7-4770 with 16 GB of ddr3 and a 500 wats power supply, the rest of the things I have are in the list. Ps: I got this pc sometime ago and it took me a while to notice but the CPU cooler is really bad (cooler that came with the processor) and my system can go to 100 degrees Celsius in games or even when I'm working. I tried creating this list where the things marked as 0 dollars are things I already own: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/pppjjjj/saved/VHpL99 I picked the motherboard because of the large IO since I'm using 6 USB ports in my current system and I wanted to have more just in case, the processor I picked was one that I thought could do the jobs I described above since I saw Linus say that 8 cores was more then enough for gaming so I went based on that and the ram was honestly just the first 32 GB ddr4 option in pc part picker. For the operating system I will probably use linux with windows in KVM, I don't know if I need a license but I don't want the activate windows watermark on my VM. Any input is appreciated also English is not my first language so sorry if anything sounds weird.

Budget (including currency): 500-600$ Country: Finland Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Photoshop, Lightroom .raw/video editing. Minor gaming old/new, competitive/casual 1080p maybe 1440p later on. Other details I usually build my pc for every 3-5 years, and try to get some budget friendly options that would last the next 3-5 years. Im lost with motherboards/memory/case options this time. I have GTX 1070 OC and Ryzen 3600 ready and need the rest, my plan is to upgrade the GPU next year to 2000/3000 series and in couple of years maybe get a used ryzen 3900/5900 that would fit the motherboard. I appreciate if the PC would be as silent as possible but still have good airflow. I really don't know what to look for from motherboard besides some extra PCI slots for my external soundcard. I don't need RGB/ glass panels/ watercooling. This is my current setup that i've been looking at, feel free to suggest better options. Some options might not be available in Europe. CPU : AMD Ryzen 5 3600 (Already have it) GPU : ASUS GTX 1070 DUAL OC (Already have it) CPU Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34 Esports Duo Motherboard: MSI B550 Tomahawk or Asus ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING (Don't know if I should just go with B550 instead of B450/x470, I don't like the x570 cooler though) M.2: Kingston A2000 500Gt SSD: Crucial MX 500 1 TB RAM: I will be going with 32GB (2x 16GB) and maybe adding it to 64GB. How much difference would there be between 3000/3200/3600 MHz. I would go with the 3000 MHz option unless 3200/3600 is much better. Options listed are at the same price range. 1: Kingston HyperX Fury 3000/3200/3600 2. G.Skill Ripjaws V 3000/3200/3600 3. G.Skill Sniper X 3200 4. Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000/3200/3600 PSU: Corsair CV 650, 80 Plus Bronze (70$) or Corsair RM 650x, 80 PLUS gold (130$). Is 650w enough for this setup and maybe later on for 2000/3000 GTX series ? Case: Completely lost here, I need a good airflow with 140mm coolers that is silent, and about 2-3 SSD slots and 2-3 HDD slots. I've been looking at Fractal Design Define S2/Meshify and Phanteks. Cable management is a huge plus. No. Of Monitors: 2

Hi, I still need to get RAM for my Ryzen 3600, I will use either B550 MSI Carbon Gaming Wifi or B550 Asus ROG Strix E-Gaming. I got a Noctua nh-d15s from my friend and its huge, would like to use it with 2 fans if I upgrade to ryzen 3900x/5900 later on. I would like to get 32GB and later on upgrade to 64GB, I do alot of RAW editing/photoshopping. My options from 3600MHz 1.Kingston 32GB (2 x 16GB) HyperX FURY DDR4, 3600MHz, CL18, 1.35V (HX436C18FB4K2/32) 2.Corsair 32GB (2 x 16GB) Vengeance LPX, DDR4 3600MHz, CL18, 1.35V (CMK32GX4M2D3600C18) OR (CMK32GX4M2Z3600C18) 3.Kingston 32 GB (2 x 16GB) HyperX Predator, DDR4 3600MHz, CL17, 1.35V (HX436C17PB3K2/32) I've narrowed G.Skill Ripjaws and some G.Skills out because they are higher, and might not work with noctua with dual fans.

Hello All,I wanted some advice on my PC problem. I have a Dell XPS One 2710 bought around 2013-2014 and spent + $2600 (I know it was a rookie mistake and I spent way too much). The motherboard doesnt work and Dell said none of its vendors carries this motherboard anymore and to just scrape this PC and buy a new one (motherboard alone online costs +$800). What I wanted to do was salvage the parts and build my first computer desktop since I spent soo much money on this All in One and I can imagine it must have some pretty good parts. I wanted to build a new gaming computer with the parts but I would like some advice on which motherboard type and size should I be looking at. I dont have a case size in mind as the build will rely on the parts to determine that. But any suggestions on the type and size of a new motherboard I should be looking at and case size? I want to do built my first PC and could use any and all the advise I can get.Ideal I would love to save the CPU, ram sticks, hard drive, and dvd drive if at all possible and if you all think i can save other parts please let me know (wlan or tv card?)Mo- TheRookieBuyerPs. This is list of the parts my All in One included-dont know if it helps and can I salvage the Microsoft key already installed there?:-3rd gen Intel Core i7-3770S processor 3.10GHz with Turbo Bost 2.0 up-8GB Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAm at 1600MHz-2 DIMMs-nVidia GeForce Gt 640M 2GB DD R5-2 TB-7200RPM, SATA 3.0 Gb/s, 16 MB Cache-Windows 8, 64-bit-8X CD/DVD burner (DVD+/-RW)-Power Supply 235W

I have a budget of >600$. Mostly played games are League of Legends, Guild wars 2, World of Tanks and Paladins. I am interested in buying some other games like Doom and Battlefield 1 and would like to build a PC that can run them very smoothly. I have been struggling with the choice of the CPU's, GPU's (because I don't really know which ones are good these days, I'm a bit rusty). For ram memory, I was thinking 1x 8Gb Kingston hyper X fury, and I can't decide which storage to take, 250Gb SSD or a 1Tb HDD. But putting ram and storage aside, CPU and GPU are my most 2 biggest concerns, because I would like to build a configuration that allows me to play those games smoothly and to capture the video of the gameplay, as well as video editing. Do you think something like that is possible to make, what are your thoughts and if you can help me I would very much appreciate it. Thank you. I've been playing around with PC part picker and configured this but I don't know if it is any good https://pcpartpicker.com/list/GmZfjc

Hello ppl Im a danish lad, who just finished studying. I want to spend some of the money, from my first salaries on a new PC-build. I am going to use it for gaming: Path of Exile, Dota2, WoW, Skyrim and such. I am a big fan of ASUS and I kinda want to support them by buying their products, so keep this in mind. I am good on mouse, keyboard and monitor alike - so no concerns here. My build can be seen following this link (Keep in mind my national currency.) This is my build I would like options for alterations to achieve: a cheaper build with same performance a better performance for same price Also I would like to remove my concerns: Can my Cabinet can contain my pieces Can my power-supply support my pieces Can my power-supply connect to all my pieces Here is raw list without using link: Name Description Intel Core i7-6700K 4GHz Intel i7 CPU G.Skill Ripjaws V Black DDR4 3200MHz 32GB RAM Samsung 850 EVO MZ-75E500B 500GB 500GB SSD ASUS ROG STRIX-GTX1070 Nvidia Geforce Graphics Card ASUS Maximums VIII Hero ASUS Maximums VIII Hero Motherboard Seagate Desktop SSHD ST2000DX001 2TB 2TB HDD Cooler Master Silencio 452 Cabinet Corsair RM705i 750W Power supply Corsair Hydro Series H100i V2 CPU cooler Thanks in advance guys

Hi guys, I currently own a Lenovo H50-50 with an Intel i7-4790 and an geforce 750ti. Looking forwards i want to start building a personal computer and do wonder if I have to upgrade my cpu or if it is viable to keep it. What I´m looking to do with it is gaming (looking to get a gtx 980ti or 1070 as gpu) and wonder if the cpu is powerful enough for that. Thank you in advance for answers.

Hey so sorry if we already have this posted somewhere but I couldn't find it. I would love a link to it if it is! So I am building my first PC and I bought this MOBO: GIGABYTE GA-A320M-S2H I bought this CPU to pair it with: Ryzen 5 2600 I realized that the CPU is not in the compatibility list of the motherboard after troubleshooting for a while (Don't make fun I am already embarrassed ?) My question is, can I flash the BIOS of my board to be compatible with my CPU or is that not how BIOS flashing works?

Looking for some cool people to play with and learn how to play this game. I am the definition of noob as I used to be a console gamer. But I'm slowly joining the PCMR over time. I have a mic (Sampson Meteor) and headphones. So I can communicate if I can figure out push-to-talk or macro keys on my K55. But hopefully someone will help me out.
