Situation : Hello everyone, i am highly considerating to upgrade my rig with the new January sales that are going to happen in belgium. However i am stuck in a weird position. My current storage is kinda starting to show it's wear & lacking storage for AAA titles but i am also having some Intel I5 pain. What would you recommand me to do? ( 1 ) Either replace my mobo and CPU to gain performance in games ( 2 ) upgrade my storage to include more games and benefit from NVM-E speeds thinking that my I5 should be enough to proceed for a while.. AIM : Upgrade my current setup to have either faster & more storage or more raw performance in order to play cyberpunk & other AAA titles or even a mix? Monitor : 1920x1080 144Hz 1Ms BenQ Budget (including currency): Can afford either motherboard + CPU or all storage upgrade or mix in € Country: Belgium Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Cyberpunk, COD, Battlefield ... Current Build : Intel Core I5 9600K 16GB RAM HyperX @3200Mhz x2 WD 1TB HDD 3x 250 GBS SSD RTX 2080 XC ( EVGA ) Considered to upgrade to : Ryzen 7 3700x Ryzen 9 3900x or new ryzen 3 if available at all. Hi, First thanks to you to stop by my topic, I hope you will be able to help me ! I am currently using the headphones Audio Technica ATH-M50x, I've used them for 3 years now and I love them a lot, but I would like to upgrade for even better now. I use my headphones daily for long period of time so I need something strong. I produce music, so I think I need a flat sound, but I do like some bass, other wise I can't hear my 808s. My pc doesn't support bluetooth, but wireless is something I would really like to have. My budget is around 300$(CAD) / 225$(USD). Hopefully that gives enought information on what I want, if not ask me I will gladly tell you what you need !

Hello everyone, With my current PC still working but in the "when you press the buttons at just the right angle" kind of way with a damaged graphics PCB, messy cable management and a suboptimal case for expansion, I wanted to do a completely new build. I had Nvidia in mind for graphics since AMD drivers caused some problems with my Linux OS and I was looking at a GTX 1070 for price-performance ratio. Now with all the rumors going on around Volta and the "refresh" 2000 series I was wondering if I should wait for the release? I know that you would always be waiting on some new component to be released with that mentality and I know that some of the rumors hold more water than others. I'm mostly interested in the increased stats and not the better price of the new cards but I could not find any reliable data on how big of a difference there is going to be. Thus I'd like to ask for your opinion on this. Thanks in advance

Hi everyone, I am a concept artist that use 3D( Modo, Zbrush, Maya......) and Photoshop daily for painting. I am currently looking for a new laptop that last 4~5 years, very good screen with 16gb of ram (For painting), good graphic cars( 3D and Games, hopefully can run battlefield 1 in the future) . So I am looking at the Razer Blade 2016, But i also heard it has a lot of problem such as the heat problem. So do you guys think i should get the blade or theres something else better?? I used to use a MacBook Pro, so I am also open to Mac(Ofcause, i cant run games on it). Should i also wait too se if they will upgrade the macbook pro?? what would you do!!??? Thanks!!!! PS, I will use this mostlu for PS and 3D, gaming is just a plus for me to game at my friends house.

Hi guys! I'm looking forward to build my first gaming pc ever, and I was wondering if you could review my plan so far ! This PC will be oriented mainly towards gaming (at 3440x1440p). It will be use for work as well, but no image rendering or video editing. I'm aiming for smooth gameplay (60 fps) at 3400x1440 and at high settings. The most demanding game I'll play on it will be Star Citizen I guess, but since it is not released, it is hard to forecast the hardware required. I guess Crysis 3 is the benchmark at the moment since Star Citizen will run on Cry Engine 3. I'm not looking for a budget PC, high end is the way to go for this build. Of course I'm not burning money like a madman (so no 4-way sli titan X suggestion please:p ). I'm estimating 3000$ will be good (without the screen). I'm living in Canada, so I'll get my parts mainly on NCIX, Newsegg, Amazon. The part selection for the moment: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/86XvQ7 I'm looking for 3440x1440P because I really love working with 2 screens, but I hate the bezel at the center. So I can see this resolution really fixing my problem! Also, in gaming, it will be quite immersive Processor: the i7-4790K seems like the way to go for a good gaming processor with hyperthreading, so I took it without many other reasons than hyperthreading (which i guess will be helpfull in upcoming games). I could wait a bit for Broadwell, but I don't think it will worth it (not much improvements over this generation). Motherboard: I honestly don't have much clues over which mobo to choose. It looked like a good one with good reviews on PCPP, so I took this one. I don't know if there is much difference between a mobo with 2 sli 16x PCI-E lanes, and one with 1 16x and 8x (since both card will run at 8x). Is there any real performance difference? RAM: Not so expensive, 16 gigs seems like a reasonable amount to run games and other apps at the same time. Apparently the brand is good, 2400 mhz wiill improve speed, but otherwise I don't have other argument to choose on type of RAM over the other... Storage: I leaning toward all SSD storage into this build. I don't have much music, or pictures/video, so I don't need a HDD with 4G to store that, but I want my OS and all my games on SSD for a lightning fast boot of everything! 2 512G SSD RAID 0 or 1 1TB SSD is the question at the moment... GPU: I'm waiting for the next generation of GPUs (it will be either the 980ti or the 390x), so I have put 2 GTX 780 ti for the moment only to figure out the required wattage (250 W each, which will probably be the wattage required on the upcoming cards) on PCPP for the build, but it will be 1 of those 2 card at first, and the I will move on to sli. Apparently the 390x will comes with only 4gig of memory on it, si I guess I will lean toward the 980ti (at 6gig) to sustain good performance at that resolution. The upcoming weeks in GPUland will make me decide which one to get. I'll wait for good reviews as well to compare the 2 cards! Case: I like minimalistic design (I'm not looking for a window or lights in the case), so fractal design R5 looks like the way to go. Plus, it is a mid-tower case, which I prefer, and it is supposed to be really quiet PSU: The PCPP calculator gives me a reading of 714W, so a 860W should do the trick (plus a safety margin!). It is also a platinium certified psu, which is great! I intend to overclock a bit, but not that much. I will go all in air cooling, and I'm aiming for quiet and performance, so I grabbed 3 Noctua 140mm fan (2 front, 1 back) for the case , and a noctua NH-U12 for cpu cooling, which I think will be cool and quiet (as the noctua reputation implies). The screen will be the magnificient LG 34UC97-S which I really love, even if it doesn't have freesync or g-sync on it. Still undecided for the keyboard, so I pick up this Thermaltake Poseidon for the moment, but I will review it later. Thanks in advance for the help guys ! Hello, I am in search of 1 pair of headphones/headset for the purpose of day to day video viewing and browsing the internet. I will give details about everything that i think is worth giving. If a detail is not specified and you consider it might make you recommend one product over another, then just recommend both and say which does what. I will pick in the end. I basically just need a pointer in the right direction. I do video editing as a hobby and will in the future look into creating music, but don't let the music creation mean anything since I don't have any significant budget right now that will make this purchase matter. You do NOT. IN ANY. MANNER. OF CURIOSITY. wish to see what i am using right now for listening to stuff. It would make audio fans puke... so i need this right now, I dont have the option to wait to get money to get something better. Here's what I had before starting to use the mysterious monstruosity above: A pos 10$ usb headset that had electronic staticky noise that corresponded to what I was currently doing on the pc every time. For example when I had the xsplit window up, it went crazy. When I stood idle it didn't do much but it was still annoying. The mic on that crap wasn't even working... Then came a day not too long ago when it created 'power surges in the usb ports' which made all my connected usb devices stop working completely which made me hard-reset my PC every time. Funny, because win7 told me to 'click here to solve the problem'... with what mouse lol. Replugging stuff would not work, the usb ports were simply playing dead. The power surges happened because of me slightly moving the cable from time to time which caused the middle part of it (the volume and mute control) to somehow lose and regain electrical contact which did what it did... Thank god it didn't burn my PC into a crisp. Before the above 10$ pos i had a Microsoft Lifechat LX-3000 which i loved for my first headset ever. It didn't have static when idle or when playing music at 100% volume, sounds were crisp and i could easily ignore the minute distorsions in sounds which i would hear only if i specifically listened for it. I was hunky dory until it broke not too long ago as well. First, the middle controller part, again, lost contact to the microphone wire and it created static in the mic input when recording while moving the wire. Fixed that with some resoddering, welding and whatnot. Some time passed and eventually the whole thing stopped working because it had a hole in the wire protection thing surrounding it which eventually with wear and tear caused the wire to completely break. RIP. 'distorsions' may sound bad, but i honestly never felt they were there outside of specifically listening for them. IF I'll get to buying a 3.5mm jack headset, it will be sticked into the onboard sound card of a Gigabyte Z77-DS3H. So, yeah... no sound card. If you feel like "ZIS IZ UNACCEPTABLE"... then feel free to point to the cheapest soundcard that will make an actual difference with a set of the price below... which i wont buy for some time anyhow. So, here are some requirements/preferences in order of importance: Since I'm from Romania(Europe), taxes apply and prices vary widely from ;70$ in usa to 75$-here; to ;45$ in usa to 75$-here;, so it's weird... In this case, I would ask you to give at least 2 recommandations, one being at most 50$ or under and the other being at most 70$ or under from the USA market. IT CAN NOT BE MORE THAN 70$, THATS WHAT I HAVE. If you can bother and be an overly nice person, you could see the price of your product in romanian currency on romanian retail shops and whatnot.(250 RONs is the max) As you can tell, there were problems with the middle controller part in both cases. So I'll have to ask to NOT give recommendations that have that stupid middle-of-the-wire controller bullcrap. If everything else about the headphones is great and the durability of it is so that the middle part will not be the first to break, then by all means... otherwise if you are unsure, no weak links in the wire chain pls. So yeah, the longer they last the better. No static when idle pls, and if attainable in this price point, no static when set at 100% volume while no sounds are playing. The LX-3000 was capable of this and much more, as stated above, and it's currently priced only at 37$ here. If you intend on pointing me to the cheapest soundcard which will for sure improve the quality of the sound overall, then the static can be ignored. Though, i'd prefer this to be good as it is coming alone. They can be either closed or open headphones. Since it's a priority list, the above are more important to me. The fact is the open type ones are the better sounding, so i guess you could recommend around that. A microphone is optional. If it has it, I don't care, If it's crappy, I don't care. If it doesn't have one, I don't caaaaare. Either 3.5mm jack or usb is alright. Thanks in advance. I just wanted to know, if someone asked you for a good company who would you recommend? I would say Sennheiser, Beyerdynamic (Got the COPs), Audio-Technica, or Meze.
