Hey all, I made a post about this a little while ago under displays, but I figured TB3 was more of a laptop thing rather than a display thing. With TB3 becoming more common on laptops due to apples push, the Razer Blade Stealth (RBS), which Linus had reviewed a little while ago has ONE Thunderbolt 3 Port. I have been wanting to run displayport off of the RBS. This may seem straight forward until you realize you can't charge while using the laptop for DP unless you find some kind of TB3 to DP adapter which also comes with a method of charging the laptop (power throughput). I was curious as if anyone knew of one of these adapters as I am unable to find one myself. Thanks, --Mince

Hi. I've been trying to compare the three laptops and can't decide. There's also not much comparisons between these two. Trying to choose between Razer blade stealth (i7 skylake with 8gb ram and 128 gb) vs Dell XPS 13 (i5 kaby lake or sky lake, 8gb model) and Surface pro 4 (i5 skylake, 8gb model). I'm mainly choosing between the razer (for its good hardware) vs the dell (for the battery life and decent hardware). Any advise. I'm trying to take everything into consideration, I'll be using this mainly for productivity and school. So battery life is kinda important, but is it worth giving it up for that skylake i7-7200u? P.S. If you think Dell is better, should I choose kaby lake (940 usd) or skylake (855usd). Is the price difference worth it? Thanks!!

Recently I had purchased a Razer Blade Stealth which has been my daily driver for school, editing, graphic design for just over 3 months. I do have a gaming PC at home which has been working fantastically for me. I have been looking in to buying a 1440p 144hz monitor that is very specific, and it sees that I have only found one monitor that satisfies everything I need (more about that here). I have determined my best course of action is not to seek a monitor that satisfies everything I need, but rather, to somehow output through displayport from my Razer Blade Stealth. The ports on the Razer Blade Stealth are 1x Thunderbolt 3, 1 x HDMI 2.0, 2x USB 3.0. This has been difficult given I want to still be able to charge my laptop while I am displaying to that monitor. That means I am limited to 2 USB 3.0 and 1 HDMI 2.0 OR finding some kind of adapter for DP through Thunderbolt 3 while still allowing me to charge my laptop. If anyone knows of any way I can run a 1440p 144hz display off of this using displayport, with the specified requirements that would be great.

Hoping someone can help me with this as I am so confused. Quite a few times my laptop will freeze up, nothing responds, i have to turn it off by holding the power button. I had linked this back due to it thermal throttling as in event viewer this is shown 4 times, 1 for each thread (The speed of processor 3 in group 0 is being limited by system firmware. The processor has been in this reduced performance state for 71 seconds since the last report.) So I went into the bios and disabled the turbo to help control the temperature, it worked for a little bit but it has happened again. This is the confusing part, Ive seen my temps hit 75 degrees (Celsius) and it wont crash, it just crashes when the temps are in the 50 degree to 60 degrees. Which is confusing because a system will shut down when it reaches the max TDP to prevent damage. Why is this happening and how can I stop it, the scenarios its happened in so far are Hangouts video call, Netflix streaming and just browsing. I make sure it can breathe everytime. And yes ive contacted support, I just want a second opinion

Everytime my razer blade stealth goes to sleep plugged into the razer core the core's fan (not the graphics card inside) will speed up to full and stay that way nonstop for some reason i'm trying to solver e. The graphics card is a nvidia GTX 970 and this doesn't happen when restarting the computer or if the graphics card is not inside at the time. My drivers are all up to date, I didn't overclock, and I've been trying to solve this for months now PLZ HALP. Edit. As long as the core is plugged in and the computer is sleep/shutdown then the fan thing will happen. Don't know how it changed but now its worse.

How good is the 4K Razer Blade Stealth's battery life? I have heard that the 4K screen drains a lot of battery.

With budget not in mind I am just wondering which is better for me. I am going to use it for video editing and uploading and watching videos. I won't be doing a lot of gaming, just web based games every now and then. Thanks

Can I use an e-gpu with a razer blade or razer blade stealth without buying a razer core or something like that? So I was looking for parts to build my pc, since all I have right now is a laptop with a 3630QM and a GT 630M. My budget was around 700-ish bucks and I wanted to squeeze every inch of performance out of it. I found out that I couldn't go higher than a 1060 6GB which was a bummer. I thought I could sell my laptop and buy the pc, but that wouldn't work since I need my laptop. I started looking around for laptops and a used razer blade with a 1060 at around a 1000$ was the best option I could find. But I said to my self, for the same amount of money I could build a pc with a 1080 in it. So I saw that the 2014 razer blades and all the razer blade stealth laptops don't have a gpu and I could find one for around 500-600$ US. SO now my question is, if I were to buy one of those, would I have to buy a razer core to get an external graphics card, or would I be able to do it some other way? Thanks in advance!

So I’ve been looking to buy the Razer Blade Stealth for daily driver as I like the looks, form factor and performance (at least for school oriented use). Recently razer just updated the site to include in the product description and choice tab to specify that the 13.3” model uses a dual-core processor. So I was wondering if you guys think this would be significant evidence that they are going to update to the newer 8th gen 8650u or 8550u processors. Especially given that they’ve had significant incentives added for the last month or two, it seems like they’re trying to either decrease their stock in prep for the update or just doing the regular razer thing of including a bunch of stuff with their products. Really looking for insight as I don’t want to have buyers remorse if they end up updating the model a week or two after I purchase a dual core model.

My notebook (razer blade stealth) only discovers 5ghz networks, it doesn't even find our second 2.4 ghz network which I like to use when I'm on the second floor. For some reason it just shows that it has no internet connection but it works on every other computer in the house. (previous mac guy who is switching over to the other side) Could it be that our wifi setup is optimized for mac? (just got this thing and i use a cable for my pc....)

I am looking for a long term ultrabook. I stumbled upon the Razer Blade Stealth which has a great build quality, somewhat good keyboard and quite good specs. It seems too good of a deal to be true, so I really want to know if this thing would be able to work as a normal ultrabook for about 5 years. Please dont reccomend me other ultrabooks, because I am pretty sure I have seen it all. Also the XPS has a plastic/carbon fiber chassis which I am not a fan of, just saying.

Hello, I have a 2017 Razer Blade Stealth and it is making a lot of apps blurry some are blurry but barely noticeable while some you cant miss it. Also when I install an app all the text is blurry to the point you cant read it. Even when windows is asking if you trust this app it will be blurry. I dont know what to do It is not talked about anywhere online from what i can see. It gets alot worse than the images.

Hello, does anyone know the best way to build a GPU enclosure? I don't have the money to spend 400+ canadian dollars on just a enclosure and then a couple hundred on a graphics card. I bought the Razer blade stealth (2017) yesterday and I am in need of a external gpu to play more demanding games. There have been posts on here but they don't really help or answer a completely different question. I need it to have thunderbolt 3 do I can plug it in. Thank you

I recently had my "big" summer update for windows 10. My bluetooth headphones (Mpow) worked perfectly fine before the update and immediately after. After about a month, my bluetooth headphones stopped working correctly. I disconnected them and then re-added them, but this time, it only says "connected" but not connected with audio. Also, when I look into my device manager, it only shows up under bluetooth devices and not under sound devices. I have updated all of my drivers correctly, and even tried rolling back to ones that should have worked. Lastly, I tried to doing a clean wipe but still no luck. Has anyone encountered this before or have any suggestions on what I can do? Thanks.

Short and sweet: I have the original Razer Blade Stealth (i7/128GB/8GB) and it's getting a bit old but I'm not having any issues with it. I have got an offer of 740 USD for it, which isn't bad since it's a few generations old and was originally about $990 so it's not a massive depreciation. Ist a good offer? There is nothing wrong with the device at all except the charger is after market. My thing is that I don't my laptop much if at all. I have a desktop which I use for mostly everything and an iPad & Galaxy Note 8 so the razer blade Stealth mostly just gathers dust in the corner. Should I take the money and pocket it or should I buy a new laptop and also not use it? I prefer Mac OS for laptops and windows for desktops but I'd need to add about $400 to get an entry level Macbook so I don't want to do that.

Okay so I don’t quite know if this is the right place to ask this question but I have recently gotten a new Razer blade stealth 2020 and I’ve been working on a type of setup for it for when I use it on my desk. My basic setup is I have a usb c dongle connected the laptop and then off thay dongle I have my hdmi cable for my monitor , a usb connection for my external keyboard and another usb connection for my laptop cooling pad, then back to the laptop when I have a usb sensor connected for my wireless mouse. My question is would having all this stuff connected to my laptop effect performance at all? Because it obviously is taking a lot of power correct ? Side note I do have my laptop connected to the power supply while I have all this other stuff connected

Hey All ! Next year I'm going to university, but as it is far from me, I can't bring my setup there, so here I am looking for the best laptop for me, as I want to play video games and most important, take notes in class. I have two candidates : the Razer Blade 15, with the GTX 1060 (Max Q...) and 512gb, wich I can have for 2249€, but the thing is that it doesn't have a great battery life, and 15.6" seems big for amphitheater. So I thought about the latest Razer Blade Stealth (8550U, 512Gb) because it is small and have a better battery than the 15", but, I will need to buy a Razer Core X in wich I'll have to put my GTX 1050 Ti. A lot of people prefer to take some Mac, but as I still want to play big games, I need to have a powerful machine. So here is my problem, what is the best solution ? I don't have any experience about university so I don't know if 15" is too big, but I'm afraid that 13.3" would be a bit small for comfort. Thanks for your help ! Have a nivce day

Hello everyone new user here on the LTT forums! I was just wondering if anyone has attempted or even succeeded at upgrading the SSD on the new Razer Blade Stealth? I purchased my blade stealth a couple days ago and I'm immediately regretting the storage capacity I purchased. I've skimmed the internet for how-to videos and I've only come up with upgrade videos on the 2016 blade stealth's, perhaps there the same? I'm not sure. Any information or tutorials from someone who has successfully upgraded their 2018 stealth SSD would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone!

Hello LTT community, I'd like some input on the new Razer blade stealth (2018). I live in Europe and will be travelling across the US soon. Should I buy the Razer Blade stealth from the US, where the price difference compared to Europe is 750$ or 650€. I don't mind the US keyboard layout, but buying from the US means I wouldn't get warranty for the laptop, because I'd be going back to Europe. In Europe I'd get a 3 year warranty from a 3rd party vendor. Is it worth the price difference to buy the Stealth from the US ? Here's additionally a link to a poll: http://www.strawpoll.me/16224922 Thanks in advance.

My eGPU either wont turn on or will turn on and off quickly. (Either that or it connects and disconnects quickly, as the LEDs go off and on while I get constant chimes of hell from windows telling me its connected or disconnected) No idea what the problem is here. Is it just borked? Should I return it? I have: Turned off Windows Firewall Tried many different power sources and power cables Cleaned and adjusted all ports Ran thunderbolt settings as an administrator (but I only see it appear sometimes and that's only when its turning on and off) Downloaded all drivers (at least I think)
