Hi, I'm looking for an SFF prebuilt that can deliver 75W through one PCIe x16 slot and 50W through another PCIe x16 slot, connected as x8 or x4. Does anyone know of a model off the top of their head? Optiplex 990 and 790 in SFF won't work. (see: attachment) Otherwise, I can't think of any other models with 2x PCIe x16 slots (it's okay if one is only connected via x4 or x8). The unit, without a GPU, shouldn't cost more than ~75€ used. My goal: CPU: 4C 8T min. turbo frequency: 3,8ghz RAM: 16GB GPU: 1x Nvidia Tesla M4 (50W via pcie) 1x Nvidia Tesla P4 (75W via pcie) form factor: as small as possible price: under 180€ What i was calculating with: M4 ~ 60€ P4 ~ 80€ pre build ~ 40€ Thanks in advance, Lenn

Hello everyone first time posting here. Back in April I bought my first gaming PC (pre built) I have the MSI Aegis RS 13th Gen RTX4070Ti Gaming Desktop Aegis RS 13NUF-439US. It has been working completely fine for me until now. I went away for over a week so it wasn't turned on and the power supply was turned off before I went away. Tonight I turned it on for the first time and the AIO liquid cooler made a weird noise but I didn't think anything off it. I started to play a game and it randomly shut off 20 minutes in and wouldn't turn back on. I was able to turn it back on after 10 minutes but this time It turned off in 2 minutes. So now I'm just wondering if anyone has dealt with a similar issue or would have any idea what to do.

Hey everyone, I just got my new PC today (prebuilt without OS), but I'm having some coil whine issue with (I think) the motherboard. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/ja5zQwS1S7o (quick video I took, the sound is louder than what the video show) Spec: Windows 10 Ryzen 7600x Gigabyte B650m gaming x ax Fox Spirit Cold Snap XT120 BLACK (air cooler) Kingston FURY Beast 32 Go (2 x 16 Go) DDR5 5600 MHz CL40 Gainward GeForce RTX 4070 Ghost Fox Spirit GT-750P V2 80PLUS Platinum What I tried / did : Updating all of the drivers Disabling XMP profile Updating BIOS from version F4 to F7B, but despite showing a successful update bios, when I prompted the reboot after that. I thought I killed the PC, I had a black screen for a while. After forced reboot, I'm back to version F4 ... I'm giving up on the bios update option, I don't want to kill my brand new PC. https://www.gigabyte.com/fr/Motherboard/B650M-GAMING-X-AX-rev-1x/support#support-dl-bios Here some pictures I took from the BIOS, to help you spot some things that can help to get rid of the coil whine. https://imgur.com/a/RIdU6G5 Thanks for your help. (Tomorrow I'll call the costumer services, but I'm afraid they might just ask my to send it back ... which is something I want to avoid).

Specs Dell G5 5000 Chipset: H470 Processor: Intel i7 10700f GPU - Geforce 3060ti I got this computer earlier this year and have done various quality of life upgrades to it to make it a bit more functional. Out of the box, it ran too hot for my comfort so I replaced the CPU cooler that wasn't doing much with a beefier Cooler master. I took the fan that was in the back and the fan that was on the original CPU cooler and relocated them to the front. I removed the HDD from it's location vertically on the front of the computer stuck it up top out of the way. Today I was upgrading the ram and adding an SSD to it. It now has the 512gb NVME, a 1TB HDD and now a 1tb Samsung 870 Evo. The ram I had stock was 2x8GB. The ram they provide is 3200mhz, but runs at 2933. I bought 2 more sticks of 2X8GB DDR4 3200 Mhz, these are Crucial brand which seems to be noted as working well with Dell computers. With all 4 sticks installed. I seem to now be limited to 2400mhz. I'm not sure if this is intentional or if there's something else I could do. Ideally I'd like to at least hit the 2933mhz frequency that the others have. I am also running Windows 11 if that would make any difference. This is the ram that I purchased: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B08C4VHQV2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1 I have also updated my bios to the latest one. There is no XMP option in my bios as far as I can see and I think given that my CPU is not a K or an X model. That may be reason why.

I'm a soon to be college student and I'm in the process of looking for a high powered laptop for my computer related degree as well as some gaming on the side. I have a budget of up to around 1500 USD and as the title suggests, I would like something with a 2070 GPU or better for the sake of retaining some long term support. In addition, higher core count on the CPU for the propose of virtualization is valuable. I'm not attached to either AMD or Intel(I know that Intel is a lot more common on these systems). In regards to the display, high refresh rate over high resolution is best with no special interest in color accuracy(I'm not doing creative work or anything). If you think my money would be wasted on these kinds of specs, go right ahead and tell me along with a suggestion for another computer. All suggestions are valued. Please be nice, this is my first post on ltt's forums.

I've bought a prebuilt PC (Criminal, i know, but it only cost me about £900) and it seems to be underperforming quite substantially in some games. https://storage-asset.msi.com/specSheet/uk/desktop/MAG Codex 5 11TC-460UK.pdf This is the spec sheet for the PC. I've seen reviews of this build as well as gameplay, and most times they are running max settings 1080p 100fps+. One example is Overwatch, this build should be able to manage into the 200fps+ on max settings 1080p, but mine is hovering around 120fps. I will note that changing the graphic settings BARELY affect the fps at all, even going from minimum to maximum only nets a difference of maybe 20fps. This might seem petty, 120fps is still fantastic, and more than enough realistically, but it's not what others seem to report getting in terms of performance, and I'm also thinking ahead for future games which will most likely be more demanding over time (Hogwarts Legacy, Stalker 2, Starfield, etc.) Another more significant example of the PC's underwhelming performance is a game like No Mans Sky. Here, again, changing the graphic settings between max and low does see a few fps gained, but nothing major. On medium settings this game floats between 40 and 70 fps, sometimes hitting lows of 30. And this is another game where I've seen the same setup (GPU+CPU) running this game over 100fps on max smoothly! I would really love any help anyone can offer. I will be away until this evening but any information anyone would need I'll gladly gather. A few things I'll note: I have changed power management to max performance though its my understanding this doesn't actually help in the way most think it does. I have reinstalled the graphic drivers. I CANNOT enable xmp, and I only have a single stick of 16gb ram in the system (See spec sheet above). A few people have suggested this may be the issue but I can't find any concrete info out there for gaming, only examples where people gain like 5% of their current max fps, which in my case is not getting me close to the performance others have. I have re-seated my gpu to make sure it didn't come loose in transit. My temps seem good, around 80-85 under high load, usually around 70, I don't think its a temp issue. The CPU/GPU load (I check using the Nvidia overlay) never maxes out while playing No mans sky and Overwatch, and yet the performance is not there. I run a dual monitor setup, but while playing I typically don't have anything too intensive on the 2nd monitor. One monitor is 1080p, the other is 1440p. Both are connected to the GPU. Edit: Just adding my PC's model in case anyone else with this exact build has issues, hopefully google will help direct them here! MSI MAG Codex 5 11TG-820UK

My i7 quad core Toshiba Satellite laptop from 2013 is starting to have issues with random shut offs and easily overheats even after being cleaned and kept on a chill pad so I'm in the market to try to get a new PC. My PS4 also biting the dust not long ago so I'm trying to find something that can tend to both gaming and content creation like running Photoshop with huge document sizes, video editing, and some 3D rendering. I have a a little lead way with my budget but trying to stay under $3000 if possible but same time would like at least a system that's going to last me a while. I play mostly single player games so I'm not really demanding extreme frame rates but I would like to be able to play games coming out now and later dates at decent graphics. I've been looking at things from Origin, Alienware, NZXT, Corsair, CyberPower, IBuyPower, Digital Storm, and even an iMac with a an eGPU since I'm already using an iPhone and iPad Pro. I've heard a lot of mixed things about certain companies so was wondering if someone could offer up their suggestions on what's a good reliable brand machine to go with.

Long time subscriber, first time forum user. I found this Dell Precision 470 tower at a yard sale and got it for $10. I don't know much about it but I knew for that price I could use it for some kind of project. It did not come with a power cable, and I do not have a monitor with the right inputs for it. Any help identifying the components or anything else about it would be appreciated. I would prefer not to take it entirely apart ie: heatsinks off the CPUs to see the model numbers. I attached what I think are relevant pictures, although Dell's website does not provide any information for the service tag. I have found some information on what COULD be in it based on different configurations but I don't know how to find information on mine specifically.

Hi all, so last year I took the plunge and bought a Lenovo pre-built with the following specs: Processor: Intel Core i9-9900K CPU Cooler: 120mm AIO OS: Windows 10 Home 64 Memory: 32.0GB PC4-22400 DDR4 UDIMM 2666MHz (2x 16.0GB) Hard Drive: 256GB SSD + 2TB 7200 rpm Optical Drive: DVD-RW AC Adapter: 500W Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX2080 8GB GDDR6 The problem is when I play CSGO, at some point (from 10 minutes of play up to 1 hour) it will freeze, give me that buzz sound, the fans rev up and the PC shuts down. So, I know the PSU is not technically sufficient and is probably the cause the PC shuts down. that or thew CPU cooler is not sufficient and I meet the threshold and as a safety mechanism, the PC shuts down. but what is the cause of the freeze? I though it was the CPU over heating, but I installed Core Temp and I checked it one minute before it froze today and the highest CPU core was only at 70 degrees which is definitely in the normal operating threshold. any help would be appreciated!

I told him I want to build a PC but don't have enough money he recommended buying an old dell optiplex with 8gbs ram and an i5 in 2-3000 series. Then he sid put a 1050ti in it. what I want to know is would this work. As for the GPU i think i will go with the 580, but i still wanted to know what do you guys think about it. Also i know the Ram is kinda slow but that's the best i could find. As for the PSU its seems decent for the moment. Also there would be a 1-year warranty. Thanks in advance

Sorry if I sound inexperienced because this is my first time upgrading my PC. So recently I received a Zotac Gtx 1060 Mini 3gb for free from my cousin since he had upgraded his gpu. I figured why not upgrade my PC which is a prebuilt Acer Veriton M2640, so I bought a new psu (FSP HD 420W) and was going to change my old psu. However, I realized that the motherboard has a proprietary 12 pin psu connector while my psu has a 24 pin connector. Frantically, I searched online for a converter/adapter that can convert the 24 pin from my psu to the 12 pin on the motherboard. Fortunately, I found an adapter on AliExpress and bought it for less than $2. A few days later it arrived, hence I quickly connected the adapter to my psu and to the motherboard and booted it up. However, for some reason, when I checked the bios, the 12v rail was showing 10.308v, which was very low. The 5v and 3.3 were perfectly in range (the 5.5v was showing 4.930v, while the 3.3v was showing 3.303v) I suspect the issue is due to the converter adding too much resistance to the wires. However, I wanted to double confirm if the issue is really due to the converter or the psu, I'm not really an expert in this I have ordered a better quality converter from modDiy. Hopefully, the issue is solved cuz I really do not want to go through the hassle of changing the motherboard.
