  1. Hello, I'm building a pc for a friend and I'm still unsure wich GPU to buy. The other parts are - Ryzen 5 7600 - 16 gb DDR5 6000 On a B650 motherboard. I think my two options for GPU are an rtx4060 (330euros) and an RX6700-XT(350euros) I don't really know which one is better or more future-proof, as that is also something to consider. I think he only has an 1080p display (with freesync and gsync.) The second-hand market is not an option in this build. Can anyone help me out?
  2. Budget (including currency): 650 Euro Country: Germany Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Casual gaming, sometimes a bit more demanding titles. Monitors 2 Monitors, 1080p 144Hz (main screen, second one is a bit trash), no desire to upgrade to more or better screens in the foreseeable future Peripherals Nothing required Why are you upgrading? PC died randomly, BSOD's indicating hardware failure, insane coil whine Hey, my friend and I are looking to build a new PC for him, after his old one died. He plans to do some casual gaming, sometimes a bit more demanding titles (nothing too fancy or too high standards tho^^). He already owns an NVIDIA RTX 2060, which he would like to keep. We have been thinking of this build: https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/GDLmkJ We just wanted to get a second opinion, as our PC building skills are a bit rusty. We went with an AM5 build, as we didn't want to buy into a dead socket and it would be less expensive to upgrade later. We are aware, that the SSD is not Gen4, he is willing to take that hit in order to save a few bucks. If we made any dumb assumptions or you have any other tips, we'd be happy to hear about it.
  3. Budget (including currency): 1800 usd, 20000 nok Country: Norway Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mainly gaming, diablo 4 atm and most likely some more demanding titles in the future Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Parts: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/QL89xs Im looking to play at 1440p 165hz, will this do the trick? will there be any compabillity issues, for example with the cpu and the ram? Will the air cooler suffice or should i get liquid cooling? Pretty new to the pc stuff so sorry if theres any dumb questions. I have done some research but i dont feel very confident in the desicion. Also worth mentioning the pc comes pre-built from Norways leading pc company, Komplett, for about 1800 usd. Im aware that i could probably save some money by getting the parts and building it myself, but as i have not built a pc before i kinda want to leave it to proffesionals. And its also nice to be able to ship the pc to Komplett and have them fix it if any problems was to happen. Comes with a 3 year warranty. any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!
  4. Currently building a new PC, but it is very unstable. Having trouble ruling out between PSU, MOBO or CPU being faulty Specs: I7-13700k Arctic Freezer 280ii (old) Z790 AORUS ELITE AX - Bios version FDc (Just upgraded from FB under troubleshooting) Corsair AX 1200i (bought used, old) Corsair Vengeance DDR5-5600 BK C40 2x32gb (Currently running 1 stick for troubleshooting purposes) On the shelf for troubleshooting purposes is an RTX 4070TI. On boot it hard (dark screen reboot) crashed 30+ times, before being able to complete the windows install. It would crash when the "fancy animation" for windows 11 started, not when the dotted loading animation came on. Unplugged all fans, running 1 ram stick and no GPU seemed to fix this. Now, still running same configuration, running Cinebench instantly hard reboots the PC. I have tried using another PSU i had (Corsair TX850), but it only had one 8 pin for CPU. This would also crash under windows installation, but there was also only half of the CPU power pins connected, so my guess is that the CPU didn't get enough power. How do i troubleshoot from here? Is there a way for me to rule out any of the three components, PSU, CPU or Motherboard? I kinda broke my bank with this build I once got a good start on Cinebench where it ran for about 90 seconds, with efficiency cores disabled.

I am in the prosess of building a PC with parts shown above. This is a bit late as I have already ordered all the parts in this list from one place, but since there is a wait on RTX 3070, there is time to change my order if necessary. I want CUDA-support, since it's more efficient than OpenCL in the applications I plan to run, so this basically rules out AMD GPUs. What are your opinions on this build? What do you think about the quality of the components? Will it be reasonably "future proof"? Some comments regarding the incompatibility warnings in the list: - The site from which I ordered the parts, says that the motherboard is ready for 3rd gen. Ryzen. - The RAMs are low enough to fit under the cooler according to the same site. - Do you think that the cpu cooler really requires a mounting adapter to fit the Asus PRIME B550-PLUS ATX AM4 Motherboard? I am also planning to try out (moderate) overclocking, and I have heard that the motherboard in the list doesn't have very good VRMs. Do you have any suggestions whether I should change the motherboard? I want a reliable motherboard with decent VRMs and heatsinks, and with features similar to the board in the list. I am not sure if I am willing to pay a lot extra for an X570-board (entry-level X570 are within budget). The motherboard shouldn't cost much more than the ASUS PRIME B550 Plus, since I have already stretched the budget a bit, but a few bucks more is OK. I have no preferences regarding the make of motherboard, but a reputable brand is preferable. I haven't skimped on the fans because I'd like the PC to run cool and quiet. This is probably not going to be the cheapest RTX 3070-based PC around.
  6. Budget (including currency): 4000 euros maximum but can be around 3500-4000 Country: Netherlands Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: 1. Games such as witcher 3, cyberpunk 2077, VR and "next gen" titles. 2. Light-Moderate photo and video editing 3. Light-Moderate streaming 4. Working with VR and big projects in Unreal Other details: So, I wanted to build a config mainly for gaming 1440p or higher. Titles like witcher 3, cyberpunk 2077, VR- next gen titles etc. Based on some research I had compiled the following build (See image attached). Essentially wanted to 3080 but well.. we know how that is going. As for the monitor, I wanted to check if it is worth investing in an ultrawide 4k panel more than an ultrawide 1440p panel (both with 120fps or more). Maybe if it's worth buying a ultrawide at all. (Please consider this build for the monitor config) I am looking for around 30-40 inches monitor sizes; essentially a single one for the time-being. Basically, I wanted to get some expert insight into the build. I do want to future proof (is it worth future proofing a build?) most elements of the build which is why I went with those options. I wanted to check, if this build is good and if I can save some money here and there by buying different brand components or change components completely.
  7. Budget (including currency): 1500-2000 CAD Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: LOL, Apex, Warzone, possible mmo's like WOW and school work/ actual work using large excel files. No graphic designing or anything of that caliber! Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I have a current list created: https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/BnnBzf I believe it will all work but I don't know if I'm over doing anything like the graphics card or if I am lack luster in any areas like SSD or RAM. There is a Wi-Fi adapter in the motherboard, which I don't know if I need since I have a pod plugged into my outlet that i can connect an ethernet cord to but i added the Wi-Fi as a "just in case". I think the cooling will be okay with the 5 extra fans and case I plan on purchasing. This computer will also be used to hold files of old photos and projects but nothing my laptop has had issues holding before. I am looking for a dual monitor system eventually but I have yet to purchase either and I wouldn't consider it with the budget for the tower. I am purchasing a few parts every couple weeks over a couple months. Please let me know if this is alright or if I have made any mistakes... Thank you
  8. Budget (including currency): 2000€ Country: Austria/Germany Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: mainly Gaming Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I will be building a PC for my Friend, and this is the Parts list I came upp with so far. He has so far been using a Laptop (i5-10300h GTX 1650 Mobile GPU 16GB RAM 1TB SSD) with another 1080 Monitor. What do y'all think?
  9. I posted this already on Reddit and I use the template for this post as well. If there are any grammar mistakes excuse me but I'm from Switzerland and not a native English speaker. I'm trying my best so you guys understand it. Build Help: What is your intended use for this build? The more details the better. Gaming (GTA V, LoL, CS: GO, Ghost Recon Wildlands, Overwatch etc.), 4K Video Editing (No advertising but if you want you can get an idea of what I'm doing on my YouTube Channel: RayJW), Photo Editing, Drawing (with my graphics tablet), probably animating or stuff like this in the future. If gaming, what kind of performance are you looking for? (Screen resolution, framerate, game settings) Currently, I'm on 1080p because of my budget. But I will indeed upgrade sometime into the future to 1440p, 144hz or even 4K. So I wanna be future-proof. What is your budget (ballpark is okay)? Currently, 1'500 CHF up to 2'000 CHF with my saving but it should be future-proof because I won't build the PC right away I just wanna inform myself about building a PC and learn one or two things when the time comes. (1'486 US-Dollar-1'982 US-Dollar precisely) In what country are you purchasing your parts? Switzerland but I've got my source for the best prices. Post a draft of your potential build here (specific parts please). [Consider formatting your parts list.](http://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/wiki/pcpp) Don't ask to be spoonfed a build (read the rules!). https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/X8FxNN I already own a 128 GB SSD and an 1 TB HDD from my prebuilt Acer Predator G3 and I probably wanna use them on my new PC but that's not a safe call yet because I'll probably use my old PC as a Server or something like that. Optical Drive I just picked a random one just so you guys know. And RAM I took this one because of the Speed Limit that the Motherboard has and the RAM issue there probably is with the new Ryzen. CPU cooler ill probably just use the stock one because I read that it is pretty decent for overclocking etc. Provide any additional details you wish below. I think that's pretty much it but as I said I appreciate any help no matter which part of the PC. As I told you guys it's my first PC. If there are any questions just ask I'm here.
  10. Hi. I want to build a mid-range gaming PC in about 900$ (excluding mouse, keyboard, monitor and sound system). Here's the parts I've selected. The prices are from my country but in USD. Antec GX200 Mid Tower Window Gaming Casing : 44$ Antec VP550P V2 EC 550 WATT Power Supply : 54$ Samsung SH-224BB 24X DVD Writer : 14$ AMD Ryzen 5 1600X Processor :250$ MSI B350 TOMAHAWK AM4 Mobo :110$ ADATA SU 800S 128GB SSD : 65$ Toshiba DT01ACA100 1TB SATA Hard Disk : 47$ ASUS GTX 1060 6GB ROG STRIX OC Edition GPU:300$ These are my selection. I want some suggestion that, is this selection okay or not? Is there any problem with AMD processor and mobo with Nvidia GPU? will i get full performance from them? Should i go for RX480 because it gives better performance in dx12 Or i stick with gtx1060 for better clock speed? Though rx480 gives 8GB VRam where gtx1060 gives 6GB. And at last please suggest me that, In this budget any better rig is possible or not? Thanks from Noobie.
  11. My Plan for the build is: CPU : AMD Ryzen 3 Raven Ridge 2200G MoBo : MSI B450 Tomahawk SSD : ADATA SX8200PRO 256GB M.2 SATA PCIE GEN3X4 HDD : Seagate 1TB SATA3 RAM : Team Delta DDR4 RGB PC24000 3000Mhz Dual Channel 8GB (2x4GB) 16-18-18-38 - TF3D48G3000HC16CDC01 - Black Heatspreader PSU : be quiet! PURE POWER 10 500W CM - Modular - 80+ Silver Certified This all Cost me $511 from my country price and is this worth or anything that need to change ? Does the ram support for the motherboard ? i read some article about if the ram not support i cant get to the max speed of the ram.
  12. Hello Everyone! I'm new to the forum and decided to join because I really love LinusTechTips as a channel and after lurking for a bit, I really like the atmosphere and community here. Everyone seems so helpful and knowledgeable! Anyways, enough of the sappy introduction. My current PC is a custom build I made a few years back after watching some build videos. Specs for current PC: CASE- BitFenix Comrade Mid-Tower GPU- EVGA Geforce GTX 950 CPU- AMD Vishera FX-6300 6 Core MOBO- GIGABYTE GA-970A-UD3P RAM- Ballistix Sport 8gb (2x4gb) DDR3 PSU- EVGA 500w 80+ Old PC's Bad Rep At first I was fairly satisfied with it. This PC can play most games I enjoy at medium-high settings with only some framerate drops. Games I normally play would be League of Legends, Overwatch, Garry's Mod, Speedrunners, Skyrim, Payday 2 and PUBG. More recently however I've become slowly less satisfied with performance. I'm starting to get into more demanding games like BF1, Ark and Monster Hunter: World and it's becoming more apparent that my PC can't really keep up anymore. Not only that, I've also had issues where my PC will randomly freeze completely while playing a game, forcing me to hard reset it. This is starting to happen more and more often. I've tried a million different things to try and remedy this problem from updating bios to checking all my drivers and even defragmenting. I've also tried reinstalling the games, reinstalling windows, rolling back graphics card driver updates as well as overclocking and underclocking. This is something that happens randomly (mostly with games like PUBG and Monster Hunter: World, but it's also happened while playing Trine 2 which isn't even really demanding) and I genuinely can't figure out what the source of the problem is. I've ruled it down to either be an overheating issue or my graphics card maybe starting to die. Aside from all of the gaming stuff I'm also getting really into some beefy video editing including 80+ 4k clips; needless to say my PC can barely handle 20 1080p clips without Vegas Pro giving me really laggy previews and horrible performance. Not to mention this is also something that occasionally causes that dreaded freeze. My solution for this is to build a new computer that's as beefy as I can possibly afford with little to no hardware compatibility problems and HOPEFULLY one that won't literally randomly freeze while playing games. I'm aiming to build something that can handle heavy 4k video editing but also be able to run VR, 4k Gaming and all of the most demanding games on high settings with great FPS. My budget is around $1800-$2100 USD I want to have it sooner so the cheaper it is while being able to handle all of this, the sooner I'll be able to afford it. I am however willing to wait a little longer to max out budget if those few hundred dollars really makes a difference performance wise. Current theoretical build that I've made up on PCPartPicker CASE- Be Quiet! Dark Base Pro 900 rev. 2 GPU- EVGA Geforce GTX 1080 Ti 11gb FTW3 CPU- Intel Core i7-8700k 6 Core MOBO- Asus ROG-Strix Z370-E RAM- G.Skill Trident Z RGB 32gb (2 x 16gb) DDR4 PSU- Seasonic PRIME Titanium 600w 80+ Titanium Certified COOLING- Noctua NH-D15 82.5 CFM My Concerns/Queries I want some really great cooling in this system which is why I chose that case and cooler specifically, but I am aware of the fact that the Noctua NH-D15 is pretty massive so I'm worried that it may get in the way of the ram or have some other form of compatibility issue. I also don't like watercooling. I really like that case but i'm not 100% positive it's the best option. I only chose it because it's large and I wanted to be absolutely certain that I had enough space for the cooler. Because of this reason I was very scared of picking a mid size case. I don't want to spend my money and start installing things only to find out something doesn't fit right or that the parts are all cramped up and will cause heating issues. (My current PC is pretty cramped so I'm kinda done with that issue at this point..) Someone tell me of a case that can still fit everything, has good cable management, dust filters and great airflow? Please? Is the processor good enough for all that workload? Will this GPU even play well with the MOBO and CPU?? I don't want the PC to be incredibly loud. My current PC is kinda loud already. Obviously I don't require complete silence but if I leave my computer on at night time I don't want to be listening to a deafening whiny fan noise coming from my PC that is actually LOUDER than my actual fan (Like my current PC). I also work from home taking customer service calls and even though my mic is good at cancelling out background noise, I still would like for the PC to at least be a little quiet lol. My current PC makes quite the bit of noise even when it's idle or not under any heavy load, it's kind of just annoying. I'm REALLY scared that I'll somehow start getting the PC freeze issue again. Especially since I don't really know what it's caused by! Do I have any items that could be replaced with a cheaper option that's just as good if not better? That's really about it. Please give me some recommendations and lengthy replies, I'd love to hear everything and anything you guys have to say! If you actually read this whole post, THANK YOU so much! It means a lot, truly. Link to PCPartPicker Build p.s. for what it's worth, if you think you may know why my current PC is having the whole freezing problem, please let me know. I'm really curious
  13. so this is my case: my thing is on the bottom there is no fans(dont plan to) so there is just a white bottom and thats not good, so i thought put like 2-3 corsair rgb lightstrips at the bottom and then on top raw mountain cristals so that the light shines through the cristals! i hope that doesn`t affect airflow! My airflow would be 360 rad top intake and then 3 fans at the side for exhaust and a normal 2080 ti founders with 2 fans! im just am curious how the light would shine through it though?
  14. Hello there guys, i am building a PC for the first time and this is getting me stressed the F out because in India the pricing is too damn high for everything so i decided that i am going to ask my friend to bring in the gpu from US and then i am going to get the rest of the parts here in India only, So i am thinking of getting this EVGA - GeForce RTX 2070 XC Ultra Gaming 8GB GDDR6, its costing me about half the price for which i can get any 2070 in india which is good but since i am new to this building the PC, i dont know which motherboard and processor to choose for this so that it can perform well, my main purpose of the build is to game and stream in 1080p at above 90fps. Games like COD BO4, Battlefield 5, PUBG, Fortnite. So should i choose the rtx 2070 or should i choose 1070 ti, i am getting confused in this area too. Please help me in choosing this parts, coz i need to order the gpu in 1-2 days so that it can reach my friend in time and he can bring it to me this month only.
  15. Hey there I'm searching a new case for my Gaming-PC. I looked up a little bit and found the "Sharkoon TG5" for 80 Euro (90 USD). Do somebody has any experiences with this case. For me an other option would be the "be quite! Pure Base". Are there some other recommendations from you all?
  16. Motherboard: ASUS - Prime B350-PLUS CPU: AMD - Ryzen 5 1600X Six-Core 3.9Hz GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX Black 16GB (2x8GB) / Ryzen / 3600MHz / DDR4 / CL18 / CMK16GX4M2Z3600C18 CPU-cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212X Storage: Main: Samsung 970 Evo 500GB, Secondary is an "old" SSD(50GB) , Third is an "old" HDD (1TB) Case: Fractal Design 7 I see my upgrading as a process, with one new componement at a time, rather than upgrading everything at the same time. Of course also beneficial for budget reasons. My tactic at hand is upgrading the rig with one premium part at the time, maybe around 500 USD for GPU, 400 USD for CPU etc (Price can vary, since I'll be upgrading over time. But I prefer price worth componements rather than the best of the best). As an amateur pc-builder I'm having a hard time decided whats the bottleneck of my rig. Up until NVIDIAs release I was deciding between upgrading CPU vs GPU. However, with the recent 30-series drop, and the potential gain I'm leaning towards upgrading my GPU first. Maybe a modern motherboard is needed as well? At the moment I'm looking to upgrade in the order of: 1. GPU - Probably 3070 or 3080? (now) 2. CPU - Probably waiting for 4000-series? (6-9months) 3. Motherboard - No idea, B-550? Worth waiting for something else ≈ 1yr? I'm mostly using my pc for gaming, often while watching something else on my second monitor. I just want a stronger rig in general pretty much. (I don't wanna be limited when buying new games etc.) Other facts: 2 monitors. Main is 144Hz 1920x1080. Keyboard: Corsair K70. Mouse: Steelseries Rival. Headset: HyperX cloud II. Any thoughts & recommendations? It's greatly appreciated.
  17. Before i beginn i would like to say im a complete noivice at pc-building and dont know much about he specs exactly or not much: Should i just upgrade my pc or just get a new one? My current Specs are: - cpu: AMD FX-8350 8x 4.0GHz - RAM: 16GB OC DDR3-RAM @2133MHz (2x 8GB) - Mainboard: Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3, AMD 990FX -GPU: GeForce GTX980 Ti 6144MB (DVI/HDMI/DP) -case:be quiet! Silent Base 800 orange - Power: be quiet! System Power 700 Watt (80+) i want to upgrade my pc cause the performance of some games(like pupg) is not very good i would like a 11GB Asus GeForce GTX 1080 Ti ROG Strix Gaming Active PCIe 3.0 x16 and for ram 64GB Corsair Vengeance RGB black DDR4-2666 DIMM CL16 BUT seeing i would like to upgrade my cpu as well with a intel i7-8700 6x3,70GHz or higher i would need a new pc( i know my board doesnt support intel) but i am still in question is the intel i7-8700 6x3,70GHz better than the AMD FX-8350 8x 4.0GHz? isnt 8 cores better than 6? and can i play cyberpunk 2077 (when it comes out) at high settings, i want a little bit futureproof! and maybie i would like to go into the RGB market i want a beautiful pc now! My old one i just bought as a one-piece and didnt much know about specs and has just black casing around! Also when i build a pc my budget is around 2500-3000€ cause i live in germany thats around 3000-3500 US-Dollars so good enough for a good pc with nice Rgb and Perfect cooling! IS IT BETTER TO GET A NEW PC OR JUST UPGRADE? Do these parts go good together when i upgrade and would my current mainboard support the 64 gb of ram and the 11gb of grafikcard?
  18. My parts list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Tv4dpb Needs: Casual gaming and programming. Generally plays AAA games like Wolfenstein 2, GTA 5, Watchdogs 2 etc during the weekends and spends most of the time during weekdays programming, running VM's and watching movies. No streaming or video rendering. Also I am currently using a 24'' S2417NX monitor and was wondering to move to Acer GN276HL since it has a good deal going on. Should I look for 1080p 144hz or 1440p 60hz monitor for my needs? People I spoke to have said that 144hz would feel better. I was initiallly going for the GTX 1080 but after researching a little bit, I found out that, the i5 7500 would bottleneck the gtx 1080. Hence moved to GTX 1070. I do not want to drop down to GTX 1060 since I won't be upgrading this build frequently. Do you think that is a good decision considering the fact that I would be gaming on 1080p or should I spend $200 more and get a better cpu and gtx 1080 right away.? Thank you for your help.
  19. 1. Budget & Location Location: Norway Budget: 40-50 000kr (roughly 5k USD) Preferred price list: NOK since I'm limited to purchasing in Norway, Norway's import taxes are too high. 2. Aim Gaming, primarily Overwatch and World of Warcraft, but will also be used to played any new games I buy as well as ultra modded Skyrim... P.S I plan on having this computer for 5+ years with minimal to no upgrades other than replacing coolers/harddrives when/if they fail. 3. Monitors I plan to have 2 monitors, one (Acer 34" Predator Curved G-Sync) at 3440x1440 resolution and one that has pivot capabilities for web reading, current choice: (Samsung S22E650D) 1920x1080 4. Peripherals I do not need any other peripherals, but if there's a gaming mouse better than the G303, I'm open to suggestions. 5. Why are you upgrading? Because almost 2 years ago my desktop literally burst into flames, at the time the store I use for computer parts were out of the parts I wanted and they had a 2 month wait time on pre-built desktops so I bought an Asus G75JY laptop, it has served me well but it was only ever supposed to hold me off until I could build a new Desktop. My current planned build is as follows: Motherboard: Asus ROG Maximus VIII Hero Socket-1151 CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K Socket-1151 CPU Cooler: Corsair Hydro Series H110i GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 Xtreme Gaming Waterforce RAM: HyperX Predator DDR4-3200MHz 32GB (4x 8GB) ODD: ASUS Blu-Ray Writer BW-16D1HT Soundcard: Creative Sound Blaster Z OS SSD: Kingston SSDNow UV400 240GB SSD Game SSD: Intel SSD 600p Series 512GB PCIe M.2 Game and Data HDD: Seagate Desktop 4TB SSHD Fans: 1x 120mm Noctua NF-S12A ULN for the GTX 1080 cooler 5x Noctua NF-A14 ULN 140mm for the H110i as well as the case itself Case: Cooler Master MasterCase 5 Now, what I am worried about is the power supply and if all of this works together or not. The power supply I was thinking of is the Corsair RM1000i, a 1000w power supply, however I used the cooler master power supply calculator and it suggested I only get a 500w power supply and I had issues finding any understandable information through google. I have not built a computer in nearly 10 years so this is my first foray into it in quite a while and while I am fairly confident I've picked parts that work with one another, I am not 100% certain and would like to make sure. I would also like input on the 2 monitors in question, in particular if there's a better UWHD monitor at or lower the price of the Acer Predator, primarily because the Predator is out of stock right now with an unconfirmed delivery date 2 weeks from now.
  20. Hi all I'm finally done selecting parts (i think) for my first DIY build. I've tried to check compatibility between parts as much as possible, but maybe i missed something. List of the parts i'm planning to use: CPU - i7-6700 GPU - gtx-1060 - i will buy the GPU later when availability in stores has improved RAM - Crucial CT2K8G4DFD8213 - 2 8GB modules MOBO - MSI B150M BAZOOKA 1 HDD + 1 SSD - both SATA Case - be quiet! silent base 600 - includes 2 4-pin fans PSU - corsair MX550x optional cooler if stock cooler is too loud: Be quiet! pure rock I've pretty much settled on these parts so only suggest alternatives if something is not compatible or if you are 100% sure that a component is bad quality.
  21. So I don't have many options available but I want to know if this build sounds good to start off. Budget $500 USD CPU: Intel Core i5 6500 4 Core, 6MB cache, 3.2 GHz, LGA 1151 (thoughts?, thinking DDR4 and long term is it worth it? the first skylake and new.... ?) $147 Mb: GIGABYTE GA-Z170 Gaming (3?) LGA1151 DDR4, (is LGA 1151 good for a few years? I know it's mandatory for DDR4) $183 RAM: RIPJAWS DDR4 2x4GB 2666MHz (yes only 8 total but room for 8 more, can't fit more for now money-wise) $70 PSU: EVGA 500W 80+ Bronze $45 Case: Aerocool XPredator x1 EvilBlack Edition (yes dirt cheap but not many options, is it too terrible?) $45 TOTAL: $490 (+10 for mountain dews and doritos makes $500) SSD: 240GB PNY CS1111 (chose this 'cuz I can get it cheap only for OS's and maybe a couple games) $70 (Maybe now maybe not... not included in budget) (got HDDs laying around) I'm thinking Later on i can buy a GIGABYTE R9 380 2GB DDR5 (integrated graphics for me till then), would the 500W be alright or should i get 600W in case? (or more??) So mainly I went as far as I could go into the budget with the CPU and Mb... So... opinions!!! Happy to hear from any-and-everyone
  22. Hey guys. 1. My inital budget maybe around 1000-1200 USD. I am located in central asia(but I'm not central-asian), but I can make orders from Amazon.de and Russia. 2. There are several purposes, gaming, video(both recording/streaming and editing), and probably programming. 3. I want to have 2 Monitors later on, but the budget is mostly for the tower, I rather will start from using my TV as the monitor and later on get 2 same screens) 4. I guess I might take 150$ off my intiial budget for a keyboard I've decided on. 5. I want to build my own desktop because I am tired of always having laptops that I cannot upgrade and that cannot run games or have sub-par hardware. 6. Per initial idea of it being on a new socket type or RAM type that is to help me have it upgreadable. I want a working tower for about that price, but I do plan on making future changes, especially Graphics/CPU and/or more RAM, depending on the initial build. Thanks for your input in advance.
  23. Hey guys , Im new to the forum and I want to build my own pc because I don't like the OEM stuff. Now I need help for the CPU and Case. In my choice are 2 CPU's The Intel Core I3 4160 and the Pentium G3258. In Germany the Core i3 costs about 100€ , the Pentium 78€. What would be the better choice for gaming ? For an Motherboard i will go with a MSI Z87-G55 because it is really cheap in Germany , has tons of features and i like the UEFI Now for the Case , http://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/CoolerMaster-N400-mit-Sichtfenster-Midi-Tower-ohne-Netzteil-schwarz_916999.html The CoolerMaster N400 costs abouts 45€ http://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/Corsair-Carbide-Series-SPEC-01-mit-Sichtfenster-Midi-Tower-ohne-Netzteil-_962207.html And here the Corsair. It costs about 55€ . Are there differences in build quality ? I like the style of both cases but i think i like the corsair more Now i will take 8 GB DDR 3 1600MHZ Ram , 1 TB WD Blue Hard Drive , Samsung Optical Drive , For the PSU i have 2 choices .. http://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/450-Watt-be-quiet--System-Power-7-Bulk-Non-Modular-80--Silver_822188.html and http://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/450-Watt-CoolerMaster-G450M-Modular_937511.html What will be better here ? And for the GPU i want to go with the XFX Radeon R9 270 DD . Maybe there are other suggestions for the GPU My Budget is limmited . I hope you can help me guys ! Greetings Michael
  24. Reason is that for an ultra tight low budget max 300-350$ ish, is it possible to build a "gaming" <_< rig for 200-300$ range that can run games at a playable framerate(atleast 24+ fps) graphics quality is obviously not going to be an issue just build for playing (altleast barely run)games. Just wanted to know if games can be played on a rig with the lowest possible price build (monitor or other accessories not included just internal components)
  25. Hey, I'm planning to build a new pc (specs underneath). For the people who know more of computers as I, is this build compatible?
