Budget (including currency): ~1600€ Country: Netherlands Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: csgo, R6 siege, RL, want to play red dead 2 and the Witcher 3 probably some other games with nice graphics I currently can't play. Visual studio(xamarin with virtual machine), IntelliJ IDEA Other details Currently gaming on my laptop but with separate 1080p 144hz screen. Probably gonna buy a 1440p 144hz+ screen somewhere in the next year or 2. Been debating it for a while but thinking about just pulling the trigger and accepting that the graphics card is over priced. So this is what I have now, which I think is decent and fits. So I'm mainly hoping someone can point out any compatibility mistakes I perhaps made or just plain wrong choices. Graphics card still debating: MSI GeForce GTX 1650 Ventus XS 4G OC - €320 buying 30/40 series when prices are normal and taking the loss on this card. Or MSI GeForce GTX 1660 Super Gaming X - €500 probably would want to upgrade in 3 years or so I think. Or GIGABYTE NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti GAMING OC PRO LHR 8GB - €800 would want to keep using this for a long time (6+ years?) But I'm not very informed about the life span of graphics cards Asus PRIME H670-PLUS D4 - €169 Intel Core i5 12400F - €189 Arctic Freezer 34 eSports DUO - €47 Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1TB M.2 SSD - €115 Corsair RM750x PSU - €70 Corsair DDR4 Vengeance LPX 2x8GB 3200 - €65 Corsair 4000D Airflow - €99 Arctic P12 PWM PST (5x) - €27 ************************************ Total without graphics card: €781 With 1650: €1101 With 1660 super: €1281 With 3060 ti: €1581 ************************************ Perhaps with a cheaper graphics card I can upgrade some other components to 'future proof' the pc a bit more. I do have an extra €200 if it would make a real difference but I think I've found a good combination.

Hi, I’m about to build my first gaming computer and I’m rethinking some part choices. I was originally thinking of getting the Zotac 1650 super, but now I’m thinking of getting an RTX card and I heard the MSI RTX 2060 is a good, affordable one, I was just wondering if it is worth the extra money (almost double the price of the 1650 super) for an RTX card. I don’t mind paying more for one it just means I have to save up for longer. Money shouldn’t be a problem as I’ve seen this card in build guides that are around my budget when you take off the peripherals. I’m hoping on getting a Ryzen 3 3300x and a MSI B450m Gaming Plus Max MoBo.

So I have the "opportunity" to get a couple of HP Compaq 8000 Elite SFF PCs for basically nothing, and I'm wondering what the best way to go about upgrading them for maximum memage would be. I have limited practical experience building PCs, though its something I've wanted to do for a while and I figured this could be fun(ny). I'd just rather not waste money on parts which turn out not to be compatible. I'm fine spending a bit to upgrade the obviously quite shite (or plain missing) hardware in these things. Budget (including currency): $300 Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming if it doesn't spontaneously combust, general purpose if it starts melting CPU: Intel® Core™2 Duo E8400 3 GHz Graphics: Intel® GMA 4500M (discrete) RAM: None at the moment, I think it takes DDR3 Motherboard: No clue Storage: Also none at the moment, I believe it originally had a 320GB HDD

I'm attempting currently to find a replacement for my dual monitor setup. However I very much appreciate the way windows acts with 2 screens. I would love to switch to an ultrawide to act as bezelless dual monitors. However I haven't see the dual screen as a primary function for many ultrawides. I'd much rather be able to have a game in full screen but within that split half. Is there any 75+Hz 1080/1440p IPS monitors that support this? Or is there a more software solution to this?

David Bowie build: History: I have always been a Bowie fan. I bought Space Oddity in sixth grade. My first Album. Saw him for the “Lets Dance Tour” in the 1980’s. Then when Vans came out with the David Bowie line of shoe I stood in line to by clothes for the only time in my life. I never wear the Vans out without somebody saying something or better buying me a drink. So, each of my builds so far has had a theme: 1. the first was “ I have no Money” 2. Anvil: Military surplus parts in a man-portable waterproof case with the best processor and top of the line motherboard. ( 70lbs build , with internal UPS , WF-Fi and LAN routers). I bent and painted the metal myself. 3. Colossus : Themaltake level 10 red LED only, Intel 6700K, Ausus Hero MB , 16MB RAM . Strix 1070, 5 @ drives (SSD) , @ DVD burners & 1@ 3 1.2 “ floppy drive. I built this unit to Inventory so far ( 10/05/19): Case Thermaltake H200 TG White ( only one glass side a nice canvas for the project) Thermaltake Toughpower grand series 1200-watt RGB ( I got this at frys’s last year cheap) Thermaltake 3-pack fans with controller Pure Plus 12 NVMe M.2 970 Evo 1 TB 2@ Team Group L5 SSDs 1TB Gold in color ( I got these to match the interior ) I need the advice of those greater then myself here: This is the odd part. I have not picked a processor, ram or cooler yet. I can wait until March 2020 for this project to complete. I think I might just wait for the new Thread Ripper to come out and buy the current generation at a discount. But I am way open to suggestion on what is normally the most important part of the build. Colors for the interior : harvest gold, black , white & grey. The Bowie theme: Now important part. I figured why recreate a cheesy design when the Vans I have (see above in post) captured the design esthetic pretty well. So, I have included a picture of a shoe and a side of my case bellow so you can see where I am at.- Note my wife painted the good parts of this I painted the much less good parts.

1. Budget & Location Location: Norway Budget: 40-50 000kr (roughly 5k USD) Preferred price list: NOK since I'm limited to purchasing in Norway, Norway's import taxes are too high. 2. Aim Gaming, primarily Overwatch and World of Warcraft, but will also be used to played any new games I buy as well as ultra modded Skyrim... P.S I plan on having this computer for 5+ years with minimal to no upgrades other than replacing coolers/harddrives when/if they fail. 3. Monitors I plan to have 2 monitors, one (Acer 34" Predator Curved G-Sync) at 3440x1440 resolution and one that has pivot capabilities for web reading, current choice: (Samsung S22E650D) 1920x1080 4. Peripherals I do not need any other peripherals, but if there's a gaming mouse better than the G303, I'm open to suggestions. 5. Why are you upgrading? Because almost 2 years ago my desktop literally burst into flames, at the time the store I use for computer parts were out of the parts I wanted and they had a 2 month wait time on pre-built desktops so I bought an Asus G75JY laptop, it has served me well but it was only ever supposed to hold me off until I could build a new Desktop. My current planned build is as follows: Motherboard: Asus ROG Maximus VIII Hero Socket-1151 CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K Socket-1151 CPU Cooler: Corsair Hydro Series H110i GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 Xtreme Gaming Waterforce RAM: HyperX Predator DDR4-3200MHz 32GB (4x 8GB) ODD: ASUS Blu-Ray Writer BW-16D1HT Soundcard: Creative Sound Blaster Z OS SSD: Kingston SSDNow UV400 240GB SSD Game SSD: Intel SSD 600p Series 512GB PCIe M.2 Game and Data HDD: Seagate Desktop 4TB SSHD Fans: 1x 120mm Noctua NF-S12A ULN for the GTX 1080 cooler 5x Noctua NF-A14 ULN 140mm for the H110i as well as the case itself Case: Cooler Master MasterCase 5 Now, what I am worried about is the power supply and if all of this works together or not. The power supply I was thinking of is the Corsair RM1000i, a 1000w power supply, however I used the cooler master power supply calculator and it suggested I only get a 500w power supply and I had issues finding any understandable information through google. I have not built a computer in nearly 10 years so this is my first foray into it in quite a while and while I am fairly confident I've picked parts that work with one another, I am not 100% certain and would like to make sure. I would also like input on the 2 monitors in question, in particular if there's a better UWHD monitor at or lower the price of the Acer Predator, primarily because the Predator is out of stock right now with an unconfirmed delivery date 2 weeks from now.

So I am finally upgrading, I already have some parts on the way, namely an i7 6700k, Asus z170 Deluxe and 32gb Kindston Predator ddr4. BUT! I will be using a BenQ XR3501 - res: 2560x1080, 144Hz and I cannot decide on a graphics card... I was thinking about buying two 980tis since they dropped in price.. two 1070s are slightly cheaper, less cuda cores, but i will be only gaming, But im not sure how futureproof are these solutions So the 3rd option is to buy one 1080... Question is: Will it last for atleast 3 years? I do not plan to upgrade in the next 3 years. But games are more and more demanding each year What do you think is the better option?

I know this is my first post here, but id best kick it off with a bang. Budget: $1000-500. The lower the better. (University student budget) Aim: Two servers, one for Heavily Modded Minecraft, and one to be used as a Community NAS for family and friends, holding backups and all sorts of files. Monitors: None Peripherals: None Why: Im upgrading because Im off at university, and switching between my high-powered desktop and my business class laptop (Dell E6420) is a pain, especially with numerous project that im working on. Google docs does well for word files, but Im looking for something more compatible. Preferences: Server 1: Heavily Modded Minecraft Server Parts Selected so far: CPU: Dual or Quad core. As high of Ghz as possible. Minecraft uses next to no cores, so its clock speed i need. Motherboard: Any motherboard will do. 2/3 SATA connectors, and maybe m.2 if its included. RAM: Highest Mhz possible, very few GB. Maybe 8 Storage: 1/2 Hard disks. Low capacity. Maybe an M.2 as a special boot drive. Speed of the disks is not a worry. GPU: None PSU: Standard 2U ATX Power Supply Chassis: Norco RPC-231 (62.99 @ Newegg.com) Server 2: Community NAS This server is going to be at least a Raid 5 or 6 server, with many uses. I intend to have one raid set be devoted to game files, so they are accessible anywhere I have internet. The other Raid will be set to hosting data storage for my friends and family, to be accessible from anywhere via a VPN. I dont know if ill simply need a good internet connection, or better CPU and Motherboard to do things like gaming and other applications over VPN like that. Parts Selected so far: CPU / Motherboard / RAM: These, Im not sure what i should be looking for. Storage: I have hard drives already purchased. This is not needed in the budget. GPU: None PSU: Standard 2U ATX Power Supply Chassis: Norco RPC-2008 (189.99 @ Newegg.com) Server Rack: Anything that has a little bit of room for expandability. Not looking for ultra flashy. Something that works.

Hi, So i decided it was time to build my own PC for gaming, general use and School work. I am in high school [Year 9 (I am 14)] so i don't have a huge budget. please give some advice on parts and if they are god or not good or worth the price ect, i took my time selecting the parts and didn't just pick the cheapest ones. The keyboard, case, Motherboard and Monitor I am defiantly keeping on the list purely because I have heard good thing about them so far and i really like them. My budget is £700 no higher my parents will pay to wards prehipials e.g Keyboard, Mouse ect, ill look into any suggestions of Components from you. I did get some help after putting together part list of my own from a nice guy called SU11YBEAR form the toms hardware forums! Also thank you to Linus and the team for producing the YouTube videos that gave me the knowledge to put together this list of PC components. Hoping to build in the school holidays [3 week estimate] Here is my part list >>http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/2nthmG All help will be appreciated,As I have never built a PC before so tips will be nice. BTW I live in the UK, West Yorkshire to be more precise! Also if you like you can call me Adam!

Hello LTT Forum, I am trying to price out my first pc build for gaming and first build overall. I'm looking for some pointers and components that work well with each-other for a decent price. I am also looking to see if the components I have currently compiled on Newegg will work with one another and how well it would work for gaming. If there are options that may be cheaper, work better, or are missing with this component list, I would greatly appreciate the advice. This pc may still be out of my budget as of right now, but I am going to try and save as much as I can to get a system that can hit at least 60fps with decent/ok graphical settings. Here is my list of parts that I have currently: https://secure.newegg.com/Wishlist/SharedWishlistDetail?ID=63yuml%2fu4F8%3d&&cm_mmc=snc-email-_-sr-_-wishlist-63yuml%2fu4F8%3d-_-04/04/2018 Thanks in advance for any advice I may receive on this forum post, I look forward to learning more.

After a lot of time and choices, I've decided this will most likely be my first PC build http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/CFWppgwhat do you think all it? Is there anything that I could get cheaper but still live up to that performance etc? The cooler is my final concern. I plan on overclocking
