Hello All, Strongly considering a new chair, I was able to try out this one at Office Depot when I picked up my electronic desk. Note that this is for my gaming/office setup at home, the chair I have now being a heavily discounted 'gaming' chair that's quite worn out (and wasn't very good to start, but was better than a $50 Walmart chair). The chair in question: WorkPro Quantum 9000 Series Ergonomic MeshMesh Mid Back Chair BlackBlack BIFMA Compliant - Office Depot Anyone familiar with this type of chair and if there's any cheaper alternatives? The hybrid fabric+plastic seat looks like it should hold up well, even to cat claws, but if anyone knows a cheaper alternative, I'll likely jump on that instead. I really liked the open air style of it and it was very comfortable, and I was able to try it at the desk in the store so I know it'll work well.

Not sure if an office chair would qualify as a peripheral, so posting here in Off Topic. I'm looking for suggestions (based on your personal experience if possible, I can web search for suggestions just fine) on a high-back drafting chair, preferably with adjustable height and adjustable/flip arms, mesh back preferred. Just trying to see if anyone bought a product that wowed them... If I do a search on a site like Amazon it seems like there's limited models sold under hundreds of different brand names.

As the title suggests I am looking for a good chair that I can spend long period of time per day on. I am currently finishing up my masters and will soon be starting work as an architect, it is not uncommon for me to make longer days or after work to do some gaming. I can easily sit for 14 hours a day behind my computer. Because of this my current chair, some cheap Ikea office chair, has started to fail on me after great service of nearly 5 years. I have been looking at several different types, but can't quite make up my mind on what would be the best to get. I have been looking at the Ergochair 2, Secretlab Titan and the cheaper option Ikea Markus. The decision between an office, ergo or gaming chair (in this case only the secretlab applies) is very hard seeing as I get mixed reviews and info from my friends. Having said all that my max budget would be 400 euro's. As for specifics about my height and weight, because these seem to influence the choice for a chair heavily. I am 1,80 m and weigh around 90kg (thank you Covid -.-), I am however trying to pick up my daily exercise routines again and hoping to soon be back to the 80 kg mark. Other than this I am from the Netherlands, so being able to buy a chair that has a warranty and ofcourse not hundreds of euros of shipping to here would be what I aim for. Meaning that some of the amazon chairs that are popular in America and Canada are not available here / not an option. If you have any recommendations for a chair please let me know, and please also disclose why you think it is better. Non-answers like gaming chairs suck, without reasoning I will just plainly ignore. Thanks in advance for you guys' help. - Dylan

Budget of $150 USD. I have already watched the GN video on chairs and know how almost all gaming chairs are the same SKU with different checkboxes marked off on the order form to China, but it still looks like the one for me because it is easier to understand than if you were to throw office chairs into the mix. So far my idea is the $110 GTRACING chair, but I want higher quality cushions. If you can link to an Amazon.com page for a similar gaming chair with all the same features as the linked GTRACING chair, but with higher quality cushions, that would be much appreciated. I have zero need for a footrest (don't have enough square footage near my card table desk to warrant extending my legs), nor any of the extra special perks like Bluetooth audio in the cushions or ports in the chair. Also are the concerns of the elastic bands holding the lumbar support cushion significantly wearing out over time (so much that the cushions just drop when you lean forward) actually legitimate and have actual widespread complains? If so, I may ask to get one with either better elastic or a chair without the lumbar support. I can secure my own if need be.

Hey I was wondering if there are any reliable reviews for office/gaming chairs for people that 400lbs/181.5kg/28.6st and up. Preferably videos, maybe Linus an do a video and maybe Andy can test them no offense meant to Andy. I am currently using a recliner as I refuse to invest in an expensive chair until I can see a reliable review from somebody in my size range that isnt being bribed to give a good review. So if this can get boosted some maybe the media and review teams see it so we can get a video it would be great. Also off topic to anyone who wants to comment on my weight shove off you don't know me nor things I have tried and gone through.

What is the best office chair or “Gaming” chair in the market
Devin117 posted a topic in Peripherals
Hey guys I just wanted to see if you can tell me more or less what you guys think the most comfortable gaming chair or office chair is.. some where in the 300-350 Dollar range.. -
Hey Guys, So I recently ditched my hand me down office chair for (what I thought) was a nice ergonomic chair (Staples Ayalon). I tried it in store and liked it, but after a few days of sitting in it and experimenting, my lower back and butt are KILLING ME. I spent about $230 after tax (it was on sale, its originally $300). I'm gonna have to return it but I don't know what to replace it with. I don't want to spend more than $300-ish, so please don't say Herman Miller. Chairs I've considered are the ErgoChair 2, Secretlab Omega, Uplift Pursuit, and (for more budget) the Hyken (though I tried it in store and wasn't blown away). I know everyone's backs are different but I'd love some input. If it helps, I'm 5'9" and around 165lbs.

Hi everyone, I'm in the process of refurnishing my office (house fire in the summer...) and I have an opportunity to invest in a good chair. Now I mostly game when I'm at my computer and the average session would be around 3 hours. That being said, I was 'all-in' on buying a DxRacer or equivalent chair but as I started looking around I was more attracted to proper office task chairs, both for comfort and the actual aesthetic. And not the costco brand faux leather $100 chair, but the proper ergonomic task chairs from companies like Herman Miller (Aeron/Mirra) and Steelcase (Leap/Think). I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see LTT do a review on some of these high end chairs and compare them against typical gaming chairs. What do you guys think, have you had a chance to try any high end chairs as well as the gaming chairs out there, and how would you compare them? I was hoping to pick one up at the end of February and was hoping to find someone who's had a chance to try both kinds.

My old Staples special office chair is finally falling apart in a way I can not easy repair. Its not worth it to buy replacement parts for it. So Its time to look at a new Office / Gaming Chair. I've looked into Vertagear's PL6000, Vertagear Triigger 350, and Herman Miller's Mirra 2 chair. I was really surprised to see that Vertagear's Triigger 350 was about the same price as a Herman Miller's Mirra 2 (with many of the addons installed on the Mirra 2) I have used a Mirra 2 at a work place, and quite liked it. But Alas $1000+ Canadian dollars plus taxes, is a bit much for me. I'm about 100 kg and 183 cm tall. I'm only interested in ordering stuff within Canada and preferably BC.

Looking for a gaming / relaxing chair... No work just home use I would like a high back, something I could rest my head on, built in lumbar support, and something I could relaxing while watching YouTube. The only thing I've found is the SecretLabs Titan, but the only thing is its made for big boys (I'm 165lbs, 6'0") I purchased an amazon chair but the foam has gone completely flat in 6 months and the plastic frame is not very comfortable....

If you do a quick Google image search on "Gaming chairs", and then do "Office chairs", the results are quite different. What I don't understand is are gaming chairs any different from typical desk/office chairs? Apart from the design, what truly makes gaming chairs good for "gaming"? Is it because gaming is a session in which a user must sit for a long period of time, and gaming chairs are more suitable for this? Is it a more luxury chair, and that's all it really means? For example, when it comes to cars, what differs an average Sedan and a luxury one? The luxury one is built more expensively, is more comfortable, and even the smallest aspects are built with more expensive materials. But the main thing that makes a car luxury, is its comfort. It's much more comfortable and looks nicer in every aspect than any average sedan. So are "gaming chairs" the same thing? Are they just chairs that provide more comfort, luxury, and is built more expensively? I KNOW both chairs are different apart from design, and one is more expensive than the other, but I'm here to find out, what makes them truly different? Do gaming chairs offer more adjustments, such as the handle, back, and seat? Basically, I'm looking for an ideal chair of mine. It must be very comfortable and luxury, much like a seat of a luxury car. It must have adjustable armrest handles. I never realized how important this was until I had to lower my chair each time I would try to push it in my desk and try to sit straight. Don't care about the price. As long as it's under $600 I'm good. I need one that's very good for posture and back support, ESPECIALLY people who sit in the chair for several hours. It must improve upon posture and be very good when it comes to that aspect. I need one that lasts a long time, does not wear out and fulfills its duties for a long time. What kind of chair would this be, and would this be a "gaming chair" or are there office chairs just as good at this? The current chair I have is a standard generic office chair. Something you would see on Google images from searching "office chair". It's a chair. It works. I can sit in it, but it's not good for my needs. It works, it fulfills its task, but it isn't ideal for my exact needs. It's like So what do you think? Which chair would be good for me, and would it have to be a "gaming chair"?

Hey hivemind, I need some recommendations for a chair for my wife. She's a writer so spends long hours sitting down at a desk each day, and so far she's just been using a lightly padded folding metal chair. The problem is that she doesn't like the chairs that are mostly black (i.e. black/red, black/green, black/yellow, etc.) which eliminates like 90% of these chairs for her. On the other end of the spectrum though are all those hot pink/rabbit themed kawaii chairs (you all know which ones I mean) that she's also not a fan of. So I'm trying to find chairs that are lighter colors without being overly pink. Whites and pastels are all fine, as are metallic colors. If there aren't really any options out there that won't break the bank, are there some decent chairs that I could get and then buy a cover to put over it? Tldr; I need to find some chairs that aren't mostly black nor mostly pink for my wife that aren't super expensive.

With all the working from home, and the fact that I'll probably be working from home for a long long while, I'm looking at investing in a new gaming/office chair. What are some good options. I'm thinking Secret Lab. I would LIKE a Herman Miller, but alas I can't afford. Thinking around a few hundred dollars. PS: I live in Toronto if that helps.

I'm having a hard time picking a chair, so I wanted to get some opinions/recommendations. I've been using a simple wooden chair so far and I want to finally get something decent. I went to a local store to test some chairs and most of them were quite comfortable, but it's hard to predict, how comfortable they would be afer a few hours of useage, so that didn't really help me much in making the choice. Ergonomics and comfort are the most important factors for me. I usually spend around 8-10 hours daily on the pc. I'm doing pretty much everything (gaming, watching movies, studying, programming), so I want something universal. I would also like it to last around 5 years, I don't mind some signs of usage on it, as long as it works. I was hoping to get something for around 200-300 Euro, but I would be willing to spend up to 500 Euro, if the additional cost was providing enough benefits. Due to my lack of experience with chairs I can't really say, whether I prefer office or gaming chairs. Gaming chairs are being criticized quite a lot, but I can't really find any reasonable arguments against them. They look pretty good (although I don't care that much about that), seem more comfortable (at least that's what I think after having tried them for a couple of minutes, so that might not be true) and provide some nice features, like backwards tilt, which I can see becoming quite handy when relaxing and watching movies. I was considering dxracing chairs, as they seem to be the most popular. They have quite good reviews, while the negative ones mainly focus on it's price, which doesn't seem that high compared to other chairs. Office chairs are quite cheaper, but I'd be able to justify the extra cost, if there are no disadvantages to using a gaming chair. So I mainly want to get some opinions, whether a gaming chair or an office chair would be better for my case, although I wouldn't mind some chair recommendations (just keep in mind that I'm from Germany, so other prices may apply).

Right i'm looking for a new chair and i'm considering between Dxracer and Need for seat. And please don't suggest high quality office chairs like hermen miller, or others like the IKEA markus because I've tried both of them and the lumber support kills my back. I did think these gaming chairs were a marketing gimmick at first but after trying proper office chairs with little success I'm willing to try a so called "gaming chair" The two brands i see the most are Dxracer and Need for seat. Now i want your opinions on both of these brands, I've heard things like that Need for seat has better comfort and quality but Dxracer has better support and return polices. I'm not really sure since both brands are about 50/50 from all the other forum posts I've read and not just on these forums either. Is there any difference to comfort style, things like foam hardness and what not between Dxracer chairs and Need for seat? I'm under the impression that the gaming chairs are probably comfortable but also rather overpriced at the same time, but i do want to try one as i'm out of options really. I'm about 5 foot 8 and 140 lbs

I am a digital artist and game developer by profession and has to work long hours at a stretch. I am currently using a simple leather chair that is not very ergonomic in the sense that it's very hard to seat on, not adjustable at all and the head rest is missing. I am 6'1" (183cm) and I was hoping anyone could point me to some comfortable chair for computer use with a fair (or rather lots of) adjustments, a nice head rest but in a non bucket style that is popular in the market these days as I have the same problem as @Slick with broad shoulders that curves forward making my muscles sore over prolonged use. A lockable wheel is an added bonus so that I can lift up my feet while I watch some random videos or enjoy a session of LTT videos. International shipping because I live in India (or an indian manufacture?) Thanks in advance!

Yo, tempted to treat myself with a new chair on top of the already rising hardware list for christmas and have just come across this after reading some reviews: http://www.amazon.co.uk/GT-OMEGA-RACING-OFFICE-LEATHER/dp/B00F1LXXL6/ref=pd_cp_229_4?ie=UTF8&refRID=02R3ZHE1ZKG7KBVXCSSP Checked out the reviews on all version of that chair and all seems well, anyone got any experience with "gaming" chairs ? I currently own an executive style chair which is awesome but it is 3 years old now and even though visually it still looks mint, the locking mechanism for adjusting the tilt slips all the time, so every now and then I fly into my desk lol

I'm on my third different kind of office chair from Staples. I've finally found one that the butt cushion hasn't flattened on (this usually happens within a couple months and I'm only 140 lbs), but the back still isn't high enough. My main gripes with sub-$200 office chairs: awkward heights back is nowhere near tall enough for me back is never at an angle I can use. To actually have my back against the chair, I have to lean pretty far back - making actually working at the computer/desk impossible. This encourages some pretty awful posture overall. butt cushion flattening quickly - again, usually happens after 1-3 months. My current one is holding up, though Wheels very very hard to roll on my carpet SUPER squeaky after a few months, even if I keep tightening the bolts So I've begun to consider the investment in a DXRacer or other pro office chair. If I go with DXRacer, I believe I should be going with the Iron series, to give you a baseline. But they're like $500! That's a huge investment for something that I cannot at all try before I buy. What are your recommendations for office/desk/gaming chairs? I'm 6'3", 140-150 lbs, and I spend most of my day working at my desk. Thanks

I figured I might was well do this review because as I was looking for what office chair to buy to replace my old one I saw that there was precious little in the way of reviews for them. It makes sense, the market is fairly small for nice office/gaming chairs, but I figure this might help someone else out down the road. As the title says, this review is for the DX Racer Max series chair, specifically this one. It was one of their more subtle designs, which is what I was looking for, but they offer both sportier looking chairs as well as more professional looking ones as well. Over all I am impressed with the chair and its comfort level, it fits me very nicely and it could probably fit just about everyone. That being said, this is what I specifically like and dislike about it. What I like: First off, everything is adjustable. The arm rests alone can be narrowed or widened, the can be raised or lowered (by a considerable amount), and they and swiveled around at any angle. The chair itself is wide enough to fit me comfortably with extra room, which as a big guy is nice, and its tall enough to catch my head when I lean back, so I can be extra lazy. It rolls and spins very well, it has a good amount of friction to it so I don't go flying at the twitch of my leg. The stitching and construction is nice, nothing about of place or mis-stitched. The build quality is nice, I don't feel like it will fall apart on me any time soon. The wheels also lock, which is a nice feature too. What I dislike: These are all fairly minor complaints, but should still be addressed. While this shipping was fast (2 days from order to being at my door), the chair could not have been shipped more dissembled than what it was. The assembly wasn't hard, but it was a bit annoying. The 'rubber' foot rests on the base of the chair are just plastic, there is no rubber, its not that big of a deal I just hate false advertising. The legs themselves are really aren't long enough to rest my feet on anyways, which I would like to do, but that is just really minor thing. I would also like it to be able to recline more, and do so more easily. While the tension can be adjusted, at its lightest setting it still won't stay reclined unless I am pushing with my leg to do so. Final thoughts: I would absolutely recommend this chair to just about anyone. All of my complaints have been minor and the quality and comfort of this chair greatly outweighs its shortcomings. For the geek/nerd who has it all, this is something that is worth the money and will greatly improve their experience at their computer. If you have any questions, or find anywhere in the review where I went full derp, let me know. Thank you all for reading, and remember, always praise GabeN. Also: Linus, you should totally do a review of this chair and compare it to others, my ass has only been able to experience so many chairs in its lifetime.

If you had to choose between this: or this: they are both priced the same, but the question is which one would be more comfortable for every day use such as programming and gaming. here are the respective amazon pages for both the chairs(translated to english) chair 1: http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.de%2FPremium-Sportsitz-Chefsessel-B%25C3%25BCrostuhl-59801%2Fdp%2FB009NQ6STY%2Fref%3Dsr_1_3%3Fs%3Dkitchen%26ie%3DUTF8%26qid%3D1408794287%26sr%3D1-3%26keywords%3DPremium%2BSportsitz%2BChefsessel%2BB%25C3%25BCrostuhl&hl=en&langpair=auto|en&tbb=1&ie=UTF-8 chair 2: http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.de%2FTecTake-Chefsessel-B%25C3%25BCrostuhl-hochwertiger-Polsterung%2Fdp%2FB006TWUIZK%2Fref%3Dpd_sim_k_10%3Fie%3DUTF8%26refRID%3D07FDJMXCR4QJ1F4QY9MZ&hl=en&langpair=auto|en&tbb=1&ie=UTF-8 thanks EDIT: I sat in both in some large store, they are both uncomfortable for a tall skinny dude... (my shoulders are too wide for the first one and the second feels like sitting on those amazon air packaging things). So my quest for the perfect chair continues, I'll update this post when i find one

I bought a Cougar Armor Titan Pro to play simulation games in. I currently have a HOTAS mounted to the chair in a F16 side stick type configuration using a monstertech chair mounts. It's fine as far as comfort and features and whatever else. Despite the Armor Titan costing $400 USD when I bought it, for some reason the chair lacks the feature enabling you to stop the chair from spinning. This is a problem for me because I use Track IR to look around in sim and my feet are generally on rudder pedals and not on the ground so pushing on the pedals generally causes me to rotate a few degrees left or right which is enough to mess up the TrackIR and screws up my view in sim. Anyone know of an inexpensive easy solution to keep the chair from spinning? Right now only thing I can come up with is getting some soft loop tie down type straps, carabiners, and turnbuckles then looping tiedown straps to the armrests/HOTAS mounts on each side, looping a couple tiedown straps to the arms(or legs) on the base, hook the turnbuckles to the tiedown straps, and tighten the turnbuckles down so there's as little rotation as possible.
