Motherboard: Asus PRIME B350-PLUS Just installed new Samsung 960 EVO 250GB M.2 NVME SSD. First i don't even know if the ssd is running in sata or pcie mode and can't find anywhere in my bios to change it. Second only 1 of my 2 sata hard drives are showing. For example lets call hard drive 1 2TB Drive and the other one 3TB Drive the one that is showing up contains a boot of windows 10(2TB DRIVE) while the other drive is just a storage drive for files and that is the one that is not showing up(3TB DRIVE). When a ssd is installed on my motherboard both sata 5 and 6 is not able to be used but in this case my two hard drives are plugged into sata 1(2TB) and 2(3TB) respectively. When these cables for each hard drive are swapped round still nothing shows up for the 3TB Drive.

I've been having a problem with my new laptop and it is truly aggravating, especially since because what most of what I do is image based. I had A LOT of files on my old Windows 7 laptop going back 10+ years that I needed to move to my new Windows 10 laptop. I initially tried moving files via an ethernet cable between the two by following guides since I didn't really know how. It wasn't working. After many hours of trying to troubleshoot, changing settings of files etc, having trouble with permissions stuff etc... It worked momentarily then stopped. So I had to give up and try another way. I decided the best way to go about it would be to copy everything over to a new external drive (I needed to make a big backup anyway) and then copy them over to my new laptop. It appeared to go well, until I noticed something. Creating new files on the new laptop? Totally fine. The files copied over? No unique thumbnails for things like image files and video files. Instead they just the default Windows icon designs - Which means I can't see what things like images/videos are unless I individually open each one, which is just not workable obviously. I've tried multiple things - File Explorer Options > making sure that 'Always show icons, never thumbnails' is unchecked. I also tried checking it, applying, and un-checking it again because "you never know". File Explorer Options > General tab > Restore Defaults File Explorer Options > View tab > Restore Defaults Right-click folder > Properties > Customize > Restore Default Disk Cleanup > thumbnails Windows' File and Folder Troubleshooter Command Prompt > sfc /scannow Command Prompt > taskkill /f /im explorer.exe > del /f /s /q /a %LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer\thumbcache_*.db > start explorer.exe Not a single thing has worked so far, and like I said, I can't get any work done because my image and video files are so extensive, go back a decade, and I use them every day. It's incredibly stressful. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

I just installed a 1TB SSD in my PC, and for whatever reason it won't show in windows. The recommended fix is to go through disk management and to create a "New Simple Volume" etc. etc. on any unallocated storage (highlighted in black), however in my case this doesn't work (my drive is highlighted as blue, meaning primary partition?). Being that my drive shows differently than seen in any of the YouTube tutorials that I could find, I need a different way to fix this as the others don't work. As you can see below, my 1TB SSD does not show in my files. Where do I go from here?

Hi, I have a Lenovo Yoga 510-14ISK running Windows 10 build 14393. A few months after i bought this laptop my username and password box wouldn't show up every time i locked or started the pc for the first time. I already did a fresh install of Windows and replaced the drive with a Samsung 850 EVO SSD, Windows is set to boot in 'normal' mode (so safe mode is disabled). Is this a known bug for this build or am i doing something wrong? Thanks in advance.

Hi. I got a MSI GTX 1050 Ti 4GT OC a few months ago. It works fine. Never had a problem with it at all! My Problem: I don't know since when its happening, but MSI Afterburner doesn't detect my graphics card and the graphics card driver version. See screenshot. It doesn't even let me use the slider (I'm not interested in overclocking tho). I think it might be happening after I installed Rockstar games social club for GTA 5. I installed it last week and I discovered that MSI afterburner is not detecting my graphics card on that day. And when MSI afterburner is running, social club crashes at startup. I'm 99% sure that it's not a hardware problem since every game runs just like before and similar software like GIGABYTE OC Guruji detects my GPU just fine, it even lets me control fan speed and core/memory clock without a problem. So it must be MSI afterburner? What I tried: I tried uninstalling graphics driver with DDU and reinstaling the latest one. Installing older 382.16 version. Reinstalling MSI afterburner, installing it's latest beta version. Doing a Windows Update. NOTHING WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!! Any help?

This is not really a question but just something i want to post here for people having problems with slow boot times of windows 10. I was just minding my own business and studying for my exams, till it was almost time for a good night rest! Windows 10 was complaining about updates so i was yea whyy not ?!! So windows 10 was updating and my computer was going to restart. I was waiting for my computer to come back on... and waiting ... okay well the updates really do take a long time ... ! My computer finally booted. i wanted to test if it really where the updates causing a slow boot. I turn my machine off and on again and..... it took about 9 minutes to boot up! what 9 minutes on a I7 6700 with 32 GB of RAM and a SDD where windows is installed on??!!!! Jup it took 9 minutes. i couldnt really believe that it took that long so i tested it again! And same story again!! i just couldnt believe it when it booted into windows i was tchecking my file explorer and i noticed something! my hard disk wasnt recognized anymore !? So i just opened my case and take a look to my hard drive ! and yea some way or another my power cable wasnt probably attached to my hdd! i plugged it in again and started my computer again and bam !!! windows took 20 seconds!! FOR PEOPLE WHO DONT WANT TO READ EVERYTHING: If windows is booting slow it could be a bad driver or a USB device that is causing the problem! it could also be a BIOS boot priorety problem! Or it could be just an update taking a long time (dont turn your computer off to quickly) BUT If you are sure that the device where your OS is on is fast and okay to go ! Usb is not causing any problem! well then lookout for other HDD's or SSD's cause they may extend your boot period for a long time, make sure they are propally connected! Could be with other faulty or bad connected hardware to ( like your RAM ) ! mister bassix out :-D (hope i can help some people) and sorry for bad spelling english isnt my native language !! ;-)

Hi everyone, It has happened today, I was playing video-games and suddendly, while I was connecting my JBL Charge 3 to my laptop, bluetooth disappeared. Windows Parameters says I've got no bluetooth on this PC. Device Manager doesn't show my bluetooth card but started showing an 'Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)'. Services.msc still shows Blutooth Service Support. I've already browse accross the net but nothing helped me. What I've done : - rebooting my computer ; - uninstalling the mysterious unknown USB device ; - scanning for hardware changes ; - disabled the unknown device and enabled it back ; - rebooting again my laptop... I don't know what else I can do. It has happened to me once and it came back enabled and working until now. What can I do now ? PC configuration in my bio.

I checked the inside of the computer, it seem's that it's all connected properly, but it still just doesn't show anything on the monitor, I tried it out with a different monitor, and I achieved the same result. So I've deducted that this is a computer issue, but I am unsure of what it could be. the HDMI cabled I am using is plugged in properly. I could use some help. Thank you

I've been at this for hours... halp I'm trying to install a Samsung 860, my PC already has a Samsung 960 M.2 (with Windows) and a random 4TB HDD. The SSD appears on BIOS and device manager, but it does NOT appear on disk manager or diskpart or other software like speccy. I've tried: - Different SATA cables and connectors (even with the ones the current HDD is using which I know work fine). - Updating BIOS, any related drivers, reinstalling Windows (it didn't show up on the windows installation software either). - Completed a memory diagnostic test (someone said it worked for him but didnt for me) - Clear cmos I dont know what to do anymore... what am I missing? Specs: i7 8700K 1080Ti 32GB RAM AORUS Z370 Ultra Gaming Windows 10 Education Any ideas? I'll provide any extra information if needed. Thanks in advance!

Yesterday i tried out a raid 0 setup for the first time. took some effort but finally it worked and a problem has occurred. I have 2 Samsung SSD's. One 830 Pro(128gb) and a 840 pro (120gb) (not ideal i know but suited my needs and cost). That is in a raid zero array from the ASUS motherboard controller and works perfectly after a bit of tinkering. The problem is that now my HDD with games, music, university work are now not being recognized in the BIOS.or disc manager. I think that this is because the BIOS is set to read raid arrays but if i switch the BIOS to IDE the system will not boot. Might be a simple error on my part. it may not be-able be run a RAID and non raid setup of the ASUS controller . Any help is greatly appreciated and apologies if this is in the wrong section.
