Good day LTT! I just started to build my 1st pc but something is wrong. I have no output but fans are running lights are on and I made sure the ram, gpu, psu cables and cpu are slotted and inserted properly. I need heeelp. Any ideas why?

So I recently had my GPU die a horrific arifacty death. Since it was time for an upgrade, I figured I'd upgrade my CPU as well. So I went with the combo of a 6700xt and a Ryzen 5 5600x. Not a bad value for the price. Pop my old guys out, pop the new guys in, easy-peasy... System posts! Good, good. I pop into UEFI/BIOS to set XMP, Set PCIE to Gen 4, and activate resizeable Bar, restart, aaaaaaand.... No display. Fans spin, RGB lights up. No output. Is this because I forgot to run DDU first? Could it be my extension cables? Do I have to put in my old hardware and redo everything (ugh) or what? Help! Morning! Ill start by telling the issue followed by the spec: Installed my new GPU from a 5600xt to a 6700xt, bit temperamental getting it to display an image, however, after using DDU and reinstalling the drivers it seemed to work. I started by playing some games, worked fine for about an hour? then all of a sudden the screen went black, and now whenever I restart or turn on the PC it shows no image. I can hear windows booting in, making all the sounds if I mash the keyboard, but nothing displayed. GPU Fans are spinning, so I assume it's running? When I connect my 5600xt back up, everything comes back to life. I have it connected via the pigtail 2 x 8 pin connector, to: 550w corsair PSU. I recently obtained my moms old computer when she upgraded it. The computer was sitting around in storage for a while, and now that it is out, I cut it on to try and find out what was in it. The computer would start up, all the fans when spin up, but I cant get any output. Its a pretty old system, but I cant figure out why it is doing it. All the accessories plugged into it cut on for about 1 second, and then cut back off. However, whenever I plug something into the graphics card, all of the accessories get power again for 1s, then cut back off. This is completely baffling me. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Today I got my new desk which enabled me to connect dual monitors. At first I found simple issues and could not post to one of the monitors, but I assumed I was clumsy plugging some things in as it quickly worked. After I restarted, I got no output on either of my displays. I tried everything assuming it was something with the monitors or even my GPU. Connecting to each monitor one at a time, no signal on either still. Then I noticed not even my keyboard and mouse where being powered by the PC (everything inside the PC worked fine, fans spinning, RAM RGB, motherboard RGB etc.). I tried restarting the PC, turning it on and off, nothing worked. Checked if anything was disconnected inside (assumed it didn't since the PC worked fine on its own) and found nothing. After a while I gave up and left the PC disconnected from the wall with the PSU on off for a couple hours. Give it a try again and plugged in a keyboard and this time it did turn on. Plugged everything else again and the PC worked fine now. Tried updating my Radeon Drivers thinking that could be the problem, which forced me to restart, no output for anything after restart... AGAIN. Same process, disconnected the PC, and an hour or so later, worked normally. I have no idea what could be causing this problem. I am connecting my 1440p monitor through DP and 1080 through HDMI, both directly on my GPU. Only thing I can imagine is some kind of issue with my mobo and GPU. Can´t test without GPU since my CPU is Ryzen and lacks graphics. Any ideas to what might cause this issue? I am almost certain that powering off my PC will give me the same result right now. When i try to turn on the pc i get no output and the monitor says no signal. The fans spin, ram is on and the gpu has power. Everything should be working but i get no output, please help me.

Hi people, I've been having an issue with my LG Plasma TV not outputting sound from HDMI devices. Let me explain the dilemma and what I've tried to do to rectify it. Bear with me it is a little long winded. I really hope someone could shed some light on this. So I've got an older LG 50PG3000 Plasma TV, it has worked wonderfully for the past 10 years without any issues, I have a PS3, Xbox One X, Fire TV Stick, PC, a satellite set top box (SkyTV), and an Apple TV that I connect up to the TV. All of them have stopped outputting sound from the TVs built in speakers but continue to output video, the only exception to this is the Apple TV which produces video AND sound. The TV has a built in Digital Freeview Tuner which also produces sound. Trouble Shooting steps: Unplugged all HDMI Devices Factory Reset TV Plugged AppleTV in with known good HDMI cable. Tested on all 3 HDMI ports on TV and all produce video and sound. I then repeated the above with the other devices, none of which produced sound only video on all 3 HDMI ports. I tried 3 other known good HDMI cables and repeated above, I even switched the cable ends (just to eliminate any possibility of cables or devices having one directional use) I updated the software on all possible devices to no avail. I then connected the other devices to a monitor with speaker output via 3.5mm jack, every device output sound perfectly as expected. Here's the funny thing, the PS3 issues an error stating, "This device cannot be used to output sound", and the PCs (of which I have 3 and 1 laptop) cannot even detect the TV as present/connected for audio even after multiple uninstalls and reinstalls of drivers. From everything I have tried above I cannot fathom what is causing this issue to happen. There would appear to be no issue with the speakers themselves as the sound clearly works when using the Freeview tuner and Apple TV, also it would appear that the HDMI ports on the TV work fine too given the Apple TV outputs sound. Given the other devices would out put sound via another monitor using the same HDMI cable I can assume that the devices themselves and the cable are working as intended and therefor must be an issue with the TV itself. So my question that I have been unable to get an answer to is this; what in the heck is causing this! The devices worked with the TV perfectly fine for years and now only the Apple TV outputs sound. I would really appreciate help with this, I'm at a complete loss. Thanks! D.

Hello folks! I need some help troubleshooting a older laptop that last year stopped working. _Specs: Hp pavilion dv6 (2007-2009 circa) 4gb No hard disk installed Used to work just fine. Bios was already set up to accept external usb live boot, but i removed the CMOS so i'm not sure this setting would still be true or false by default _Backstory: Last year my dad's laptop stopped working without apparent reason. It has Windows on an ssd, don't know if the day before it did any updates, but when he went to power on, it lit up, fans spinning but no display output (not even bios or boot up sequence). I think I tried to output to his tv boa hdmi with the fn button to switch monitor with no success. Since it was already old and slowing down I found a deal on Amazon and just bought him a new one; Since i had his files already backed up to NAS, i formatted its sdd and used in my pc, and left the laptop in a drawer for future troubleshooting. Now I'm just beginning to learn programming and IT stuff and wanted to use it as a headless server to learn, and maybe salvage the screen if it works and use it as a secondary monitor in my system (if possible). _Problem The laptop powers on, display stays off, not even backlight turns on, fans spin, capslock leds and touch control leds light up, system seems to boot. Led lights blinking pattern doesn't match any error codes mentioned in the manuals i've seen so far. I'm kinda level 0 about hardware troubleshooting, so i need some help to figure out what steps to take first and how to do it Places where i already asked mentioned it could be a corrupt bios that doesn't allow booting, but for what i'm used to, when my pc couldn't boot, simply short pressing the power button would result in pc turning off, while if my pc could boot but wouldn't load desktop or any output, to turn it off i would need a long press to power off. I searched around and asked some (not-so-friendly-as-advertised) communities and their responses ranged from a "dead gpu", to a "corrupt BIOS" , with no additional info or answers like: _ If i have a dead gpu, will i still be able to use it as a headless server installing some sort of linux distro and ssh to set up a headless server? _ can BIOS be re flashed or resetted? _does a broken BIOS mean the pc now is just trash? I looked by myself into it, i removed the CMOS battery and left it some hours out to "reset the BIOS to original" i guess, but no luck ( I didn't look for a physical bios reset button, since i wanted to leave major disassembly for later options). About the gpu i found a detailed video to "reflush" or "resolder" it with a thermal gun, but even if i kinda have the technical abilities to physically do it, I feel it kinda sketch and would drain a lot of time; I'd rather if possible use it headless. Is there any better way to approach this troubleshooting in a smarter way? i.e. _trying to get some kind of error bip code _using a linux live boot to output to external video output _using a live usb with ssh already set up and trying to connect to it via ssh (headless like a raspberry pi procedure) Again, i don't really know how to start a checklist of troubleshooting in this situation, nor how to do the steps I just mentioned. Any help would be appreciated, eli5 level is what i think i'm at in this field . Thanks for the attention!

My first post here but the forum has helped me multiple times. All the rgb and fans turn on normally(Case fans,Ram rgb, gpu fans, gpu rgb even the keyboard rgb) but I do not even get the bios screen(most of the time). I have made sure that the monitor works, the cable works and I ve tried all ports on the gpu(even hdmi that I also verified that the cable works). I reseated the ram, gpu(even tried the second PCIe ×16), I ve cleared CMOS by removing the battery, I ve checked the cable connections. When I turn it on the troubleshooting leds on the motherboard indicate its a vga card problem and I thought it meant my gpu is dead but there is a catch. Sometimes it actually displays for a while before it inevitablly stops outputting again(I do not know what causes it to suddenly work, it seems pretty random). Is it possible for my gpu to be dead but still output ocassionally? The message that I get when I do get display is the one in the photo but I cannot do anything to check the drivers since my cpu doesnt have igpu and I get no display from gpu. The system was built about 45 days ago with a mix of used and new parts but everything was working fine at first. Hello to anyone kind enough to offer some help, I'll try to make this easy for you. I am running *i5 12400f *b660 mobo *32gb of corsair vengeance lpx spread across 4 slots *650w corsair power supply and of course the notorious 3070. So some background for you hardware detectives, Got this card "broken" off a friend, no video output. took it to a tech place they identified it having some sort of problem with the card firmware, as it turns out it was still under warranty so i ended up just going through the rma gauntlet leading to now. I received the card on the 7th of november which i promptly installed; posted without hassle got to desktop uninstalled old radeon drivers and got the most current nvidia game ready drivers. went through all the nvidea account stuff played around with ray tracing in some games no issues at all. power down go to bed. Get home turn on pc get in a call, and shortly after good old gigabyte suffers his first of his series of strokes. first all displays go black, I can still hear the call and everything's still running but soon everything freezes can't hear call mouse isn't lit, the situation is not lit. turn it off and on again and we're back in the game. working perfectly fine for 3-4 hours not getting hot or anything. but when launching some random game it finally kicks the bucket, but grampa gigabyte wasn't coming back this time... so i began my trouble shooting *try turning it on and off again, no luck *reseating in pci slot, nothing *mobo vga light remains glowing white, mocking me *try a different pci slot, nothing *power connectors? see one is half plugged in feel rush of relief as this must have been the isue and i've been spared from the horrors of paying for the shipping for an rma of an rma that they f*cked up nothing.. I started to get paranoid maybe it wasn't the gpu maybe something else well that got put to rest pretty quickly popped in old rx570 booted right up no problem looked a little wacky and made nvidia drivers angry but it's clear everything worked it's the gpu that's not working here. is there some really simple trick that i've missed here? did i f*ck something up? I stay here in denial out of the fear of the hell i had escaped of gigabyte rma so if you can spare me from going into the second circle anyway thanks for reading any suggestions are greatly apreciated.

Hi I have one 1440p 144hz Monitor connected via DisplayPort and one 1080p 60hz Monitor connected via hdmi... It worked fine until now... From one day to another I have no output on my 60hz Monitor. I reinserted the cable, swapped it out, reinstalled the amd drivers... One time when the hdmi cable was half inserted it worked but just with a 900p Resolution but my gpu thought it was dvi, then I decided to create a costom resolution for 1080p and everything worked fine. To proof that it works I reinserted the cable and still the same problem... Again no Output... Maybe Its because I had a VR headset connected Before these problems to this hdmi port but I dont know what I can do... Specs: R7 3700X ASUS X570-F ASUS RX 5700 XT

Hi All, I recently had an issue with my computer where there was a section of the motherboard that burnt out (somehow) in the area highlighted in pink. After finding this out, I have replaced the motherboard with a new one that is the same model. However I am still getting the same issue as before where I boot the computer up, all the fans turn on, I can feel the hard drive spinning but there is no output coming from the graphics card. I have tried taken the RAM out, same result. I have tried with no RAM stick at all, same result. The new motherboard has been fitted, same result. Tried different PCI slots for the graphics card, same result. Re-applied thermal paste on the CPU and re-seated, same result. I have plugged in a speaker to the motherboard, no beeps from it. And so as you can imagine I am coming to an end, has anyone encountered this before that might have a better idea as to what is going on? Alternatively, has someone got possibly an idea of else might have been damaged when that area burnt out? Specs: AMD FX8350 Gigabyte GA 970-a Corsair Vengeance 2 x 8gb Corsair GS700 EVGA GTX770 Classified Any help would be appreciated, Thank you!

Hi. I am trying to fix my father's old pc and so far I'm unable to get an output. There is no type of code that would help me identify the problem either. Methods I've tried so far: - Reconnecting Hard drives (SATA and IDE) - Reconnecting Power Supply - Reseating RAM - Reseating CPU Motherboard: MSI G41M-P28 RAM: 4 GB DDR3 CPU: Intel Pentium (G3250 @ 3 Ghz) GPU: N/A I have tried the same VGA output cables with other PCs and they have worked. I'm unsure on what may have caused this; originally there was no RAM seated in the PC when I had opened it up. I do not have any GPUs that don't require extra PCI power cables so I'm unsure whether there's a problem with the onboard graphics or not.

I added my WIFI card to my computer, and when I went to turn my computer on, and the computer booted up, but didn't get any output display from the motherboard or graphics card, the power supply is 500 watts, the motherboard is a gigabyte H370, the graphics card is a GeForce GT 710, and my chip is a ninth gen core i3

Hi. Last time I asked for trouble-shooting help, I was told to try using a GPU and a new PSU. Unfortunately, the suggestions did not work. I decided to reseat the CPU again and the socket looked slightly different than it did last time I had a problem with output. I am unable to get any post codes or beeps due to the motherboard not having that function. Hi everyone, So I had an 1050TI laying around and I want to put it in my HTPC but I can't make it work. According to PCPartPicker the 1050TI should work with my mobo (AM1H-ITX) and my CPU (AMD Athlon 5350 APU). Bios is up to date, all the drivers and firmware I can download are downloaded and installed, primary video output in the BIOS is PCI. Anyone had this issue with a similar hardware config and was able to fix it or have any idea on how to fix this? Hardware: GC: Zotac 1050TI OC CPU: AMD Athlon 5350 MOBO: Asrock AM1H-ITX PSU: Thermaltake TR2 430W Software: OS: Windows 10 P.S. Thanks in advance, and i know it's old hardware (beside GC) it's for a HTPC, not for gaming, it's for streaming,

My relevant parts are: 2x 8GB HyperX Fury DDR4 RAM, 2x MSI GamingX 1070’s (SLIHB Bridge), MSI Z370 Gaming Pro Carbon motherboard, Intel i7 8700k Samsung 950 Pro 512GB M.2 NVME Drive 850w Corsair PSU I’ve been having this strange issue with my pc now for a while. It seems more likely to happen after switching monitor outputs from DP to HDMI, but not always. I’ll press the power button, the PSU will give the usual startup click, fans will spin up, but the MBs integrated backlight will not light up before a couple of seconds. The pc won’t boot or post. The SLI HB bridge does not light up, nor does any peripherals except the keyboard. On the motherboard the “CPU” light lights up to indicate a cpu related issue. Now, I’ve tried to troubleshoot this quite a lot. I’ve tried only one GPU, no GPU, one stick of RAM, different slots with the RAM, reseat the CPU, adjusting mounting pressure on motherboard (I even replaced my dark rock pro 3 because I thought it might’ve been too heavy on the MB), reset CMOS, remove BIOS battery, cycle power, different display outputs and cables. Nothing works. Only thing that seems to somewhat work is to turn off the PSU, drain all residual power and leave it for many hours. Then it’ll sometimes start like nothing happened I don’t know what to do, this has been going on for a year and I cannot find a solution, nor can anyone I know. I’ve updates the bios firmware and all firmware and drivers are up to date. It’s really frustrating when I need or want to use my PC and it acts like a moody car on a cold day. Anyone have any ideas of what this can be or how to solve it?

Hello, I recently bought and Asrock A300 and installed there ryzen 3400g. Everything works fine, except one thing: if I power on an external display after POST is ended, I have no display output (no signal) on external display (or via realvnc). Debian 9 looks to boot fine (I can access apache2 server). If I power on an external display before POST, everything works fine. integrated graphic "by default" is enabled in BIOS. Does anyone have the same issue with AMD integrated graphic? I upgraded to A300+R500 from celeron J-1900 mini-pc and never had that issue before. Thank you.

Guys i need your help with what the HELL is going on: So i got some bluescreens in the last few days since i installed my bluetooth drivers from the asus website. Yesterday i first got a black screen (my computer was still running but giving no display output signal) and neither unplugging the displayport cable didn't help nor restarting my monitor. I thought this had something to do with the ai suite 3 fan testing stuff i started at that time, But today i got another black screen with the same result. I only could restart my pc and nothing else. I also got the "renderdevice not found" alarm or something like that in overwatch on Saturday and if i have a bluescreen the error code is system_service_exception. When i had the blackscreen today my Bluetooth earphones would disconnect but my pc is still running.
