Hello everyone. about 2 years ago i bought this used PC. Here are the specs: CPU: i5-9400F Ram: 8x2 (16GB) ddr4 2400hz XPG AData Motherboard: Asus TUF B365M-Plus Gaming PSU: Xigmatek X-Power 600w also there is a small speaker in the MB that beeps every time it Posts. . so the problem is that ever since i bought this PC i had this problem whenever i clean it or move it or unplug/plug something it would not post when i try to turn it on and all fans spin to life but i get a black screen and no beeps and non of the peripherals turn on it does that often and i try everything to fix it and it always works after 1-5 Hours of troubleshooting but the problem is that i do so much to fix it that i don’t know what i did right that fixed it. it works for as long as “no one disturbs it’s atmosphere” as in never hit the table or or move the pc around. while troubleshooting i do the following: disconnect all peripherals and cables (including monitor cable) and remove CMOS Battery and press the power button many times to discharge all static and “leftover power” and keep repeating while trying something new each time like checking and repluging power cords and such things but im sure it’s internal. eventually it works but i still don’t know what i did right and what the cause of the problem is now it did it again and im desperate to know the cause. Please help.

Hi all, I am having issues with my PC after I restarted it last night. I’ll lead with the specs and then describe the issue & the things I have tried in order to fix it. Specs: CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 (2 years old) Mobo: MSI B450 Tomahawk (2 years old) RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro (8GBx2, 3000Mhz,CL15) (2 years old) GPU: MSI 1660 Ti Gaming X (2 years old) CPU Cooler: be quiet! Dark Rock 4 (2 years old) Boot SSD: PNY CS900 120 GB (5-7 years old) Secondary SSD: Western Digital Blue 2 TB M.2 2289 (1 year old) Extra HDD: Seagate 1TB 7200 RPM (7-10 years old) PSU: CX650M (2 years old) OS: Windows 10 64 bit I’m unsure of the BIOS version, but it was updated to support the 3000 series before I purchased it, which was in august/September of 2019 and I haven’t touched it since The issue: I have been running this PC for about 2 years now without any major issues. Last night, however, I was experiencing some internet issues for a good 30 minutes while my roommates had no issues whatsoever. Seeing this, I decided to restart my PC. After it shut down, it ended up not booting back up. The PC powers on, and all the fans in the case spin up, including the GPU fans. Also, the RGB on the motherboard & GPU turns on. However, my connected keyboard & mouse do not turn on, nor do I get anything on the display. When the PC initially turns on, the CPU debug light turns on for about 5 seconds while the fans do an initial ramping up, but then it (the debug light) turns off and the fans slow back down. Also, the installed motherboard speaker does not make any beeps during the powering on of the PC, nor does it make any other noise. A video of the issue, let me know if you would like to see anything else and I’ll do my best to show you. My attempted fixes: I have tried all of the following to no avail: Reseating CPU, GPU, and RAM Unplugging and replugging all cables Shorting CMOS & Taking out battery (It was out for an entire hour & 30mins while I attended a football game) Turning it on and off again (at this point probably 20 times) Attempting to boot on one RAM stick Checking for any shorts in the case Again, the PC has been running for 2 years with no major issues, so I am unsure what could have caused this and would appreciate any help as this is the computer I use for gaming, school work, etc. I do not have the money to completely replace it, although I could, if necessary, buy a new motherboard, RAM, CPU, or PSU. Thanks for any help you can provide, I greatly appreciate it.

Hello! I built my first PC a while ago and it was running swimmingly. I played multiple games like Watch Dogs, CS:GO, Dota 2 and so on. Most games weren't that hardware demanding. I even streamed a few times and it was fairly decent. But one day there was an update for Dota 2 and since it was 3GB I had to leave it downloading and left. After my school session I went on my computer to enjoy the day only to find out that it was frozen. This never happened since I built the computer. I tried to turn it off manually but it didn't work so I turned the power supply switch off. After waiting for a while I tried to turn it back on but it showed nothing on the screen and the beep it used to give was nowhere to be heard. I have 2x 4GB Crucial Ballistix RAM 2x Seagate 2TB HDD 1x GIGABYTE GA-970A-UD3P (rev 2.0) MOTHERBOARD 1x GIGABYTE R9 380X GRAPHICS CARD 1x AMD FX-6350 All this running on 500w EVGA Power Supply. I had a feeling it may be the power supply, so I went to the coolermaster power supply calculator and the results were 465w, 515w needed. But when I try to turn the computer on the power supply fan is working so I assumed it wasn't the power supply. Then again nothing is burnt or damaged when I inspect visually. Please Help! Thanks!

Hello everyone, First time builder here, I just assembled my first PC and went all out for my dream build. I’m still new to PC building and am obviously very paranoid that I did something wrong. I assembled everything correctly as far as I know and I was able to install windows but when I boot I don’t hear the single beep that I have been told I should. If anyone can provide any insight for me I would really appreciate it. Hey all! So I'm building a new PC, and after plugging everything in, the RGB on the MoBo turned on, but nothing else happened. No beeps, no post, no fans, nothing happened. I then unplugged everything except the CPU, one stick of RAM, and tried again. Same result. I tried the other stick of RAM. Still nothing but the MoBo RGB. I reseated all power connections. Still nothing but the MoBo RGB. With these symptoms, how can I determine which parts to RMA. Is there something that I'm missing? Or anything I can do that might resolve this issue? Thanks for the help!

Hello I just built a new PC and it won't boot up properly. When I press the power button all the fans spin (chasis, cpu, psu and gpu), but the monitor screen remains black and after around 30 seconds it shutdown and begins to boot again. I flip the switch on the back of the PSU to make it stop. There are no hard drives connected at the moment because I was hoping to first boot straight into bios. My specs are: Asrock AB350 Pro4 AMD Ryzen 5 1600X Adata XPG Gammix D10 DDR4 2666 PC4-21300 8GB CL16 (two of them) Saphire Pulse Radeon RX 580 8GB GDDR5 Cooler Master G750M Enermax ETS-N31 (cpu cooler) The RAM sticks are in the A2 and B2 slots. I tried booting with only one in the A2 slot, and later with one G.Skill Ripjaws V Silver DDR4-2400 PC4-19200 8GB CL15 in the A2 slot. Last time I checked, the Adata ram sticks I got weren't in the Asrock Pro4's QVL list. Also, installing the cpu cooler was a bit of a pain; I had to loosen the screws of the cpu mounting brackets and tighten the screws until the heatsink wouldn't move. I've done everything on this list except #23. Also, I found an internal speaker to see if I get some beeps with the RAM removed, but no beeps. Any help in diagnosing the problem and getting me out of computer hell will be appreciated.

Hi All, First, a small introduction. I'm Gregor and I live in the Netherlands. I love gaming and building/modding PCs! I have built over 15 PCs in the last 3 years. It's more like a hobby. Time to time I have some issues that I can't explain and sometimes after hitting my head on the table I come up with the idea to contact the experts. So here I am. My never booted setup: Mobo: ASUS ROG strix z370-I Gaming CPU: Intel Core i5 8600K RAM: G.Skill Trident Z RBG - DDR4 CPU COOLING: NZXT Kraken X52 RGB PSU: Seasonic FOCUS Plus Series 650W GPU: NONE yet - will buy it when I have my payday SSD: Samsung MZ-V6E250BW SSD 960 Evo NVMe M.2 SSD Case: Parvum s1 0 So after setting up everything - and yea I know - I should test everything before putting it into the custom case.... - I switch the PSU to on and press the power button - The PC starts - The fans are spinning - but nothing on my monitor. Connected Mobo with Displayport to my monitor. My keyboard ain't lighting tho so I quickly noticed that there is something wrong. The problem: No Post Things I tried: Reset CMOS Put USB stick with latest BIOS file in the USB with the hope he would do something Added speaker -> No beeps! Removed RAM -> Powered up -> No changes Tried to boot it with 1 RAM -> No changes No additional hardware plugged in Checked monitor cable After checking all the cables I saw that the onboard LEDs are not lighting up when I power the machine up. See screenshot. -> I have never had this before so I hope you expert guys can help me out! Thank you very much for help/reading and I really hope you can help me out. Greetz, Gregor

Here's the system: - i5 4690k overclocked to 4.5ghz - gigabyte ga-z97x-gaming 5 - hyper 212 evo - 16 gb ddr3 ram 2133mhz (4x4gb) - asus strix gtx 970 - Samsung evo 850 250gb ssd - wd caviar black 1tb hdd - corsair cx600 I've had this pc for two years and haven't had any issues until now. The problem started two weeks ago. I printed something, and went back 10 minutes later to print something else. The computer was off, which was strange. I turned it on and it began a cycle of appearing to turn on, then restarting every 5 seconds until I turned off the power supply or held the power button for 5 seconds. During this, nothing came up on the monitor. I tested all the ram by putting various single sticks in A1 or B1, tested the power supply with my multimeter. I took out the gpu and tried the motherboard outputs (dvi, hdmi, displayport, vga) and got nothing - the same ~5 second cycle with no video. Based on this info, I sent my motherboard back to gigabyte for repair/replacement (still on warranty till Nov 2018). I ordered a cheap asus b85m-e micro atx board since I didn't know how long it would take. When I received it, I breadboarded it with just the cpu, cpu fan, psu, and ram. My case doesn't have a speaker, so I bought a buzzer from a local repair shop so I could hear if it's posting. When I turned it on, there was no video, and after 20 seconds the cpu and psu fan turned off for 5 seconds (just enough time to spin down to stopped) then restarted and stayed on - still no video. These results were repeated over a dozen times in various configurations (no ram, 1 stick ram, gpu). During all of this, there were no post beeps. I tested the buzzer I bought with 4.5 volts of batteries and it did work. I brought everything to the repair shop where I bought the buzzer. They breadboarded it there using their psu and ram and got the exact same results. They thought maybe it needed a bios update to support my cpu, but I confirmed with asus tech support that the bios version on the board supported my cpu. I assumed I got a dead motherboard, so I ordered an ASRock z97 board. I tested it today and got the exact same result as the asus b85m-e. -max cpu temp was never over 80 when stress testing with prime95 small fft. Vcore max was 1.295 volts -I always use an anti-static wrist band when working on it. I have gone through this list with both the asus and ASRock: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/261145-31-perform-ste... So, what could be the problem? CPU? That's kinda what I'm down to...

A Tom's hardware post to another user said to try the initial test without RAM to see it that elicits Memory error beep codes so I tried that and no beep codes. We have not connected any video card yet, nor any hard drive, we are only testing the components to get into the BIOS (I guess it is called EUFI now) Took it all apart, cleaned up the thermal good, and put CPU and heat sink back in place just to double check everything. Same results. Anyone have any suggestions? I sent a webmessage to ASUS support but I have no idea how long it would take to get a response if ever. I made the mistake of buying this stuff from NewEgg in early January for an end of Feb birthday and I assume that after 30 days they will not want to hear from me, even though the boxes have remained unopened until today

I followed instructions on main thread for no beeps and blank screen. But i still just have a blank screen and no beeps. the fans are spinning on cpu, case and gpu My system is following http://pcpartpicker.com/p/d4gynQ expect i don't have my 970 yet and using my old pny gtx 260. BIOS should be 2.0 or that number on the spi chips I've tried reseating everything from ram, cpu, and video card. i currently removed system from my case and put it on motherboard box that it came in thinking maybe it was shorting on something. I've also unplug all unnecessary items that are needed to get to bios(aka all ssd, hdd, bluray, and wifi pci card) all i have is basics ram, cpu, power, video card, usb keyboard, and monitor. I've also tried going down to one dimm and tried each of the four sticks. I've tried clearing the cmos multi times. I've moved gpu to other pcie slot( manual specific says pcie slot 1 for single). i know gpu works cause i tried it again on my old system. I have both 24 pin and 8 pin power plug in. There is a additional power for pcie for 3 way sli, I did try power and not powering it. I did plug in my desktop speakers into green port on motherboard(not sure if i can get beeps from that) cause i dont have debug speaker that you can plug into the board. Does that work? I saw there is a com port on mother board will it print out serial posting if i hook up to it from my laptop? there no post code display on this motherboard. A friend mention maybe trying another video card, so he going to lend me his old one tomorrow. Any ideas is greatly appropriated at a lost and hoping its not doa rather not wait to rma.
