Let me give ya'll the scenario... I was updating my graphics card drivers and that was through GeForce experience, so when I was installing the drivers, it did everything normal except the screen went black which is also normal but it never came back on. I did all basic troubleshooting such as reseating GPU plugging in all connections such as DP HDMI and power cables and nothing. Then I went to my local Microcenter for a repair and said the GPU failed... fortunately we had a warranty and got a 1660 ti because all the others were sold out. We drove home and still experienced the same issue and again went back. We had a different guy and his methodology was different. Like the last guy I can't remember what he used but it didn't involve his own power like a PCIE power connector and it worked fine. When he plugged in the 1660 ti nothing came on and he checked the PCIE cable from the Power supply and its getting power so its not the cable. Then they used a 1070 ti and nothing happened. So, they know the GPU works, and they had no clue and it pointing towards the motherboard. and so we got a new motherboard and CPU because we got a B550 and our old system had a 2700x it is what it is. I rebuilt the new system and I saw light and one strange prompt showed up it said unable to post due to Bios or CMOS restarting again or something along those lines. After that it worked like normal and j was able to pull up the BIOS screen in the new motherboard and everything worked. So could someone help me point me a direction to what it is wrong with my old motherboard because I know it still life unless someone can tell me other wise. Ps. There is no physical damage on the motherboard. Extra Info the old system is about 10 months and 1 year old. Hey Linus Community, My request for help In the past couple of days I have gotten myself a brand new Gigabyte X570 Aorus Pro motherboard and an AMD Ryzen 7 3700X CPU. At the first boot I didn't get anything to display, until I remembered that I read somewhere that AMD Ryzen required a dedicated GPU. So I decided to mount the motherboard into my case as well as the GPU (MSI GeFore GTX 1080 Ti Gaming X Trio). The second time the system did boot into the Windows I had already pre-installed on the M.2 SSD (Kingston A2000). Due to multi-boot questions I got on the boot, I decided to perform a clean install of Windows. So I prepared a stick, plugged it in and initiated the Windows 10 installation. The setup was still transfering files and data so I decided to get back to work. About ~15 minutes later I decided to check on the installation and I noticed the system was shut down. After attempting to boot the system, I didn't see any display output or anything. After checking the motherboard I noticed there was a CPU_LED burning contantly. No additional LED switches were made during the boot. A picture I took during the succesful boot, does not show any status LED's burning, so it was succesful at one point. Relevant software and hardware Motherboard: Gigabyte X570 Aorus Pro CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X CPU cooler: Stock (AMD Wraith Prism) GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Gaming X Trio PSU: Focus Plus 650 Gold Memory: Kingston HyperX Fury HX421C14FBK2/16 (Yes it is odd, but I tried to spread the costs of the system upgrade, the motherboard and CPU should be compatible with it) SSD: 1TB M.2 Kingston A2000 What I have tried thus far 1. Reconnecting the power supply (have you tried turning it off and on again?) 2. Relocated the memory sticks 2.1 Slot 1 2.2 Slot 2 2.3 Slot 1 and 3 2.4 Slot 2 and 4 3. Reconnected all power supplies to the motherboard 4. CPU-cable attached to CPU_OPT instead of CPU_FAN I'm running out of ideas and I have no idea what to do, or what the problem could be. Fairly new to pc building and Im upgrading my pcs motherboard, cpu, and ram but everything else will be the same. Same harddrives, gpu, and power supply. Do i need to do anything before i swap the old parts for the new, or can i just plug them all in and be good to go? Im switching from amd to intel, idk if thats relevant. Am i supposed to install the new cpu drivers before hand or something? Sorry if this is a dumb question and thank you in advance for your help!

So yesterday i startet up my pc after about 1 minute i heard a zhhsh or something and the fuse of my room broke (i dont know how to say it in english) so i went down the stairs and put it back on after that i saw my mobo wasnt turning on and i checked the PSU and it was broken. The day after i got a PSU of a friend that he didnt use anymore now the mobo lights work but of i click the power button nothing happens i dont know if its the cpu or the mobo.Thanks for helping sorry for bad english

Hello, I just purchased Intel Broadwell-E 6800k, and tried to turn on my PC after installing. With the 8 pin power connector plugged in, the computer turns on and then instantly off. Without the 8 pin plugged in, all the fans and the LEDs stay on but there is no display. Would like to know what can be done about this. Thanks PS-started buying the parts over a year ago so please be go easy on me. Hey friends I have a Inspiron 560 with the G43T-DM1 775 motherboard and I'm looking for compatible CPU's. From the research I've done it appears the Core 2 Quad Q9650 should work but I'm worried I might be mistaken... Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! I was looking for Asus z370-e I'm not following new board for the 8th generation so i'm not really in deep into that I'm used to asrock motherboard so i would like to try something more this time, even if a bit overprcied. Can you tell me what's the letter after the z370? It's just something of asus boards?

Ok so I just got a new motherboard and I re built my computer. Long story short it is not booting. I have tried everything: Boot with gpu/no gpu, boot with new empty hard drive, change CPU cables and a lot of other stuff. I'm using the Asus sabertooth z170 s and it gives me this CPU led but I pretty sure its not saying anything is wrong the manual doesn't describe well enough what the led means. I will add a pic please help.

Recently I went through a move and since the movers came while I was at worked someone touched my workstation and now I'm having issues. My machine will boot just fine no errors and then after about 3 minutes it feeezes. No matter if it is in the bios or the os this always happens. Initially it booted into the os but then turned off completely after 10 minutes. Not sure what could be causing this but thinking it's the mother board at this point Specs off the top of my head Asus z97-a i7 4790 Zotac gtx 960 4gb vram 4x crucial ballistic sport 8gb ram

So as the trend goes, I suppose I might get one later on after finished my college entrance exam if it goes well~ lol! Here's the point, which MB should I get? Also as cheap as possible. I'm only familiar with those 1150 MBs, basically I have no idea of those 2011 MBs. I don't wanna dual CPUs, and no SLI, no Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, nah~ I not that enthusiastic. Plus, any chance I could just put those normal DDR3 if any MB luckily suit? Most of time I'll use it for gaming, I know some games really go hard with that CPU, but the current one I'm using is a fuckin i5 4460 on MSI H87M E35. God, that MB only cost about $60, a incredibly cheap MB that just what I need! Without those fancy things lmao. Last, don't worry about the size, I'm not going to put it in a damn coffin lol, just joking. I just like to put it outside so I could give it more care like cleaning and spilt my drink into it(cough cough, no, I won't do it.) Ah, and what kind of fan do I need to put on that sweet CPU? Also, I'm a big fan of fans, pls no water cooling, lol. Any recommend? And anything I need to know before jumping into that? Support, or just anything u guys could teach a funkin retarded 18 year-old laid who never touch Xeon series?

This is the 4th comp i've build this past 6 months. I'm getting 5 post beep and not sure what is causing the problem. Thought it was cpu with excess therlmalpaste, clean it and there were no thermalpaste on the pin. 5 post beep still continue. Specs: Msi 970 gaming Amd fx 4350 black edition 8gb corsair vengeance pro Savage 240gb ssd Gt 740 video card for now
