Hello everyone, I’m currently running a system with an A320M-S2H motherboard and a Ryzen 5 5600 CPU. My RAM is rated at 3200MHz, but it’s currently only running at 2400MHz. I’ve checked the spec sheet for my motherboard on the manufacturer’s website, and it states that it can support up to 3200MHz with overclocking. My system also includes an 80+ Bronze 650W Corsair PSU. I plan to keep the CPU at stock speed and only overclock the RAM. Given these specifications, I wanted to ask if it would be possible to overclock my RAM to its rated 3200MHz on this motherboard? I’ve already updated my BIOS to the latest version. I’m planning to upgrade my motherboard to something like a B550 next year. In the meantime, I’m wondering if my current A320M-S2H motherboard can handle overclocking. I’ve heard that it’s generally safer to overclock RAM than a CPU. Is this true? Do y'all think the motherboard can really handle it? Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

(my first build) I turn on my pc for gaming then game then it automatically shuts down after about an hour(I purposely set it that way so that I don't play overtime), Then Sometimes I want to play more so I turn it back on but it doesn't turn on, it loops through cpu and Dram(Lights on my mother board keeps switching to cpu then Dram normally it's supposed to go CPU-Dram-VGA-Boot). I tested it out if i just shut down regularly to see if the force timer shut down was the problem but when I turn on my pc and turn it off right away it turns on fine after, when I launch a game and play for a bit then shut it off it doesn't turn on again. I always have to wait at least 5 or 10 min. Hello Guys, I am looking for improving the air flow at my SPEC-06 Corsair tower. I have currently the motherboard from Gigabyte X570 UD Rev1.0 and the 2 fans that came with the case is already using the only 2 FAN System of this motherboard. My question is, Will I damage anything if I place one more FAN at CPU_OPT meant to be Water Cooler reading, since I am not using it at this moment? I have tested one of the Fans from the case and they worked there. This is will probably give me one extra Fan and since I am using 2060 Super Windforce OC from Gigabyte as well I need more air flow do decrease the freakin noisy level of this GPU fan and temperature as well =) I am looking to get the CORSAIR AF140 LED Low Noise Cooling Fan -> https://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=8_130&item_id=131539 Also I am not sure if it is worth to get 2 and replace from the currently ones from the case or just to get one more. I can't find the specs of the fan that comes with this case. Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone! I have this problem right now with this mobo... In the manual it says that is possible shared up to 16GB of RAM (if you have the double amount installed on the system) with the iGPU but in the bios settings the maximum that i can set is 2GB. I have 16GB of RAM @ 3000Mhz. My BIOS version is: 3.30 (I tried the 3.70 and get nothing but bugs so i have to downgrade again to 3.30). So i don't know what to do now. If anyone knows this motherboard i'll appreciate your help!

My mother has been looking to get a new PC and is tired of getting prebuilts that are expensive and become too slow in a few years and fail. I thought I'd take a crack at custom building a rig for her, which she agreed would be a good way to ensure she gets what she needs. Her current PC is the Dell Studio XPS 9100, still running Windows 7. She has come to fear inevitable hard drive and SSD failures because almost all of her previous computers and even some recent laptops have had drive failures (I kid you not, she kills drives just by looking at them). Because she is a freelancer working from home, when failures occur they are major setbacks, and as such, reliability is a priority. Speed and the ability to multitask is also very important, because at any time she most likely has 7-8 windows of ~10 tabs each open in both Chrome and Firefox (with plenty of flash components and other resource-intensive elements), multiple Word docs, several images open in Gimp, and occasionally other workloads such as video editing (no gaming, though). Any performance problems can become major problems as she is often on a very tight timetable a lot of the time (in addition to her business, she does a lot of volunteer work for several non-profits and is on the board of directors for multiple organizations). To put it simply, her current PC struggles when she's away from the computer, and practically dies when she's using it. In general, she prefers to keep her computer for as long as possible, because transitioning can be rather difficult and she doesn't usually have the time to consider other options. As such, the build needs to be able to last for several years and be able to handle newer software and more intensive tasks. Swapping hardware as it gets incrementally better is also a goal for the future, in order to make sure it stays updated without having to get a whole new build. When it comes to budget, there is only a sanity limit. This build should be overkill, but not insanely overkill, and overkill for the workload. Here is what I quickly picked out on PCPartPicker: PCPartPicker part list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/NJ8CVY Price breakdown by merchant: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/NJ8CVY/by_merchant/ CPU: Intel Xeon E5-1620 V3 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor ($295.69 @ Amazon) CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($24.88 @ OutletPC) Motherboard: MSI X99A Raider ATX LGA2011-3 Motherboard ($172.98 @ Newegg) Memory: Crucial 16GB (4 x 4GB) Registered DDR4-2133 Memory ($183.98 @ Directron) ---> (Seems like a lot, but again, needs to be overkill for future workloads) Memory: Crucial 16GB (4 x 4GB) Registered DDR4-2133 Memory ($183.98 @ Directron) Storage: Samsung 960 EVO 500GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive ($246.98 @ NCIX US) ---> (System/Apps disk, needs to be as fast as possible) Storage: Western Digital Blue 1TB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($269.62 @ NCIX US) ---> (These three in RAID 5 as a 2TB data disk) Storage: Western Digital Blue 1TB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($269.62 @ NCIX US) Storage: Western Digital Blue 1TB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($269.62 @ NCIX US) Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 1060 6GB 6GB GAMING X Video Card ($249.99 @ Newegg) Case: Fractal Design Define XL R2 (Black Pearl) ATX Full Tower Case ($119.99 @ SuperBiiz) Power Supply: SeaSonic PRIME 750W 80+ Titanium Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($164.69 @ SuperBiiz) Total: $2452.02 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2017-04-25 23:49 EDT-0400 I am also looking to put the WD SSDs into RAID 5 in order to allow for failures (I could also get another one and do RAID 6, but that might be too much), but I'm not sure which RAID controller to get, so if anyone has any suggestions, please include them. I chose several server-oriented components like a Xeon and ECC RAM, again because of reliability, high uptime, and generally good performance, but if you don't think this is the way to go, please suggest alternatives. At the moment, this is very open to modification, and some of the components I chose likely aren't the best for what she wants (I'm unsure about the GPU and PSU, for instance, and I feel like the motherboard might be overkill). Looks really don't matter, as this will always be fairly out of sight. When it comes to monitors, she very much likes large touchscreens, so looking for suggestions for that, too.

In my last topic i was having problems with my computer crashing, due to high temperatures. Turns out my case only had 1 fan and the fan curve on the gpu was very bad. So i bought more fans, i put one in the back of the case and i will put one on the top of the case. Is this too close to the motherboard? Oh and the front fan i have is connected to cpufan instead of system fan. Should i connect it to systemfan instead since i have enough 4pins?

My mom's laptop is having an issue, I don't know how it happened or what could have caused it. I am not quite sure how to describe the issue, but I will try. When accessing the file explorer, usually the file tab has several options including the print option, currently, none of the normal options are showing and instead replaced with a set I've never seen before. (see picture) what I would like to know I how to fix it so that the normal options are showing.

My brother just got a desktop and didn't have a monitor so i decided to lend it to him for a few hours. I just recently got it back and tried to put it back into my computer and no signal could be found using a VGA connector. So i switched the ends and still nothing, restarted my computer and still nothing. Then I realized my mouse, keyboard and wireless adapter were also not turning on. But my headset connector was. I tried all my mouse keyboard etc.. on my brothers computer and they worked. So i figured my USB Ports are dead. It seemed as if they weren't getting enough power and i'm stumped on what to do. My computer is running fine but nothing will work via USB. Help please.

Hi, greetings from Argentina! I have an old HP PRO 3400MT PC (Foxconn 2ABF motherboard) with an i7 2600 and 8gb ddr3 1333Mhz that i want to give to my GF to play some games. Recently i changed the power supply of my PC and i put the old 550w PSU to the HP and worked great (with the Processor Integrated Graphics) BUT it doesn't work when i put a newer graphics card (GTX 1050ti) I read in some forums that the problem is something related to Legacy BIOS... I updated the BIOS as they recommend (to 7.16) and it still doesn't work... What can i do? some solution? UPDATE! I tried a glitch in the motherboard that a guy find and shared on YouTube, IT WORKED! but is a little tricky to make it run (and like 3 minutes of waiting). Also i read a post of a guy who recommends to flash a moded bios but for that i need to reeplace the Bios chip on the mother 'cause the new bios is 8Mb and the chip of the HP is 4mb... I don't have the tools needed for that so i think that wait 3 minutes until the PC is fine for now, but i will change the Mother+Case sometime. Thank you all!

Hey everyone, this may be kind of an awkward question but I am looking for an easy to use program that allows archiving lots of images (mostly knitting instructions and such). The reason I am looking for something like this is, that my mother keeps complaining that Excel keeps crashing (the Excel sheet is about 60.000 rows long (and growing) and I have no idea how many pictures are in there). She is not very good at using the computer so the program needs to be easy to use (and explain) and she wants an easy way to view and categorize the images (I already told her she could simply use the file explorer, which I think is the best option to manage the huge amount of images, but her opinion on that is that she cannot see what kind of pictures are in each of the folders at a glance and therefor it is not suitable). I would really appreciate the help as I am tired of going over to her PC only to tell her that Excel has crashed once again. Thanks in advance

ORIGINAL TOPIC: Hiya, I am looking to upgrade from my current processor and motherboard. Current processor: Intel Core i5 2500 Quad Core Processor LGA1155 3.3GHZ Sandy Bridge 6MB Current Motherboard: ASUS P8Z68-V Pro Z68 LGA1155 ATX 3PCI-E16 2PCI-E1 2 PCI B3 Motherboard (Current graphics card is GeForce GTX 1070) This PC was built back in 2011 (aside from the graphics card which I picked up in 2016) I use the PC for gaming, video editing, audio editing, everything overall. I live in British Columbia, Canada. My full PC specs are listed on my profile page I believe. Budget: 1500$ for both I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what to go for, I am not too familiar with the current processors, motherboards, and such.

Hey guys, I have a really big problem. I ordered a MSI Z97 MPOWER from an Australian computer parts company called Umart. They are great on service and all but the problem lies with the fact that the store doesn't have any in stock. They are also unable to tell me when they will be getting more in as their supplier or something isn't giving out any information. So I was wondering if anyone knows of a motherboard on the LGA 1150 socket that has the following: 8 sata ports (I already have 5 drives and a Blu-ray/DVD player), 8 rear USB ports (can be 2.0 or 3.0 doesn't matter) on-board wi-fi and optional 2 LAN ports if possible. The 2 LAN ports doesn't really matter as much. It also can't be EATX as my case doesn't support them. Kind Regards, Lilly

Processor Intel 5960x and 32gb(will upgrade to 64 in future) Corsair vengeance LPX I will be using my system for work purpose mainly. So based on my Specs and my requirement which motherboard should i get?

okay so I'd like to get my mother a laptop. I just need a little help as I've never tried to build or buy a lower end computer. she's going to be using it casually and for work related things (probably using the internet and programs like word etc.) but I want it to be fast enough for her to have a nice experience while she uses it. not a piece of junk slug so.. does anybody know a good store bought laptop with decent enough performance for the price (if that even exists) or a website that I can build one?. I would also like help with specs suggestions if you have the time, like what processor, RAM, Graphics card etc. thankyou
