Hello everyone! I reach out to this forum to see if anyone can help me find a solution with my Xbox Wireless Headsets (that i don't have the usb that it's bought separately) and i use the headphones through my pc via bluetooth and it works well until i turn on the microphone and then all the audio i hear through it's glitching or like a popping noice (that as a note its sounds VERY DIFFERENTLY of what i record compared to what i hear) and i don't know what it is, i used it perfectly both the audio and microphone on an old laptop, now since i bought a pc i use it through a usb that can recieve a signal of bluetooth that it's the same requisit for using the headphones, the only way that the audio works normally is IF i turn off the microphone device of the wireless headset. The only that i had differently since my laptop is a new redragon camera 1080p that has integrated microphone and i don't know if that caused some missconfiguration on the setup I leave some music that i listen to that they can check how it sounds and some pictures of the devices that i have, both of them that are on are the supposedly the ones that should be on 2024-02-21-15-54-42.mp4 Sry for my broken english, im from argentina but i really do need help with this

I'm thinking about swapping out my Corsair Void wireless headphones for a pair of wireless Astros or perhaps more audiophile grade wireless headphones and slap on a modmic. I'm only using audiophile to differentiate from your typical gaming style of headphones/headsets. My first "real headphones" where a pair of wired A50's(I think) I bought about 10 years ago. I don't know when exactly but I wanted to go wireless so I got a pair of Voids from Corsair. I think they had just shortly came out at the time I bought them. Looking at the current version of the wireless Astros I like how they handle charging with a dock/pins vs a cable, which mine is starting to crack. I'm just curious before pulling the trigger if there are any "wireless audiophile" headphones with the same or similar method of charging where I don't have to worry about my cable breaking. Oh, and while not a deal breaker I'm thinking of going open-back for audiophile headphones. PS: I will primarily be using these for gaming and YouTube/Movies

Hello there! I want to buy a new XLR Mic for streaming and vocal recording. Currently I use an AT2020 but I have problems with it such as too much background noise (welp thats what a condenser mic will do for you .-. ). As an interface, I currently use the RODE AI-1. looking forward to your recommendations c:

Hi. My Xonar U7 sounds perfectly clean when just using the line out for headphones, but when I use the mic input, it's extremely noisy. I've tried using an iFi Defender 3.0 because I thought it was a USB ground loop issue, but the noise still persists. For some strange reason, however, whenever I touch the RCA ports at the back (pictured below) the noise goes away very significantly. I guess I act as a "ground" or whatever when I do that. Would love to hear any suggestions! Thanks!

So to make a long post as short as i can i been troubleshooting a driver issue for 2 weeks now and I've ruled out every possible cause down to just a single driver version not being the correct one. I use game bar on window every single day to chat with friends who are either also on pc or playing on their xbox. I use an xbox controller with a connect xbox headset that suddenly stopped working about 2 weeks ago for no reason. I've test the device on 4 other computers ranging from windows 10 to 11 that were all up to date on everything. However the driver i have on the problem computer (10.0.22621.1) is a later version and the other 4 computers have the exact same older version (10.0.19041.1) and showing no available updates. I will include images for that. After doing every single other possible IT move under the sun the I've decided i need to move the driver back. However there is no rollback option, its greyed out and i cant copy system32 drivers from the old pc to thew new one. I need to roll this driver back to the older one and i don't know how. Please help.

Somehow it seems like somewhere audio that is supposed to go to my output/headphones is also going to my microphone, idk how but its a huge problem if im recording anything using my mic. If its helpful im using a philips shp9600 with a v moda boom pro attached to it, my motherboards an asrock z690 phantom gaming 4. heres a test i did to illustrate my issue. mic audio recording: mic_audio.mp3 pc audio recording: original_audio.mp3 I am pretty much 99% sure this has nothing to do with audio anything happening externally like my headphones being echoed and picked up by my mic, and rather the issue is somewhere internal like some software issue or incompatible hardware. The recordings just sound so similar its hard to say otherwise. so far ive tried: updating and reinstalling headphones and microphone drivers, (thats it :/) mic_audio.mp3 original_audio.mp3

TLDR, Mic’s coil picking up EMI. Is there a solution? Hi, I'm new to the forum. A few days ago I bought a RODE Podmic, a dynamic mic, to replace AT2020, hoping to reduce the audio leak from my K702 open back headphones entering the mic that cause an echo problem to my friends over Voip. It did work, but introduced a new problem. I think the coil in the mic is picking up EMI from my PC. The following are two examples. EMI IDLE.mp4 The first video is when the system is idle. Normally I couldn’t hear the noise, but once I move the mic closer to the PC case, or point the mic towards the case, the noise became audible. EMI GPU.mp4 The second one is when GPU is on load, in this case a game. The noise is audible when the mic is away from the case, and gets even worse when being close to it. You can hear the pitch shift with the game’s framerate (though I didn’t show it cuz bf2042 no longer allows RTSS overlay after changing its anticheat engine), and when ever I switch the scene, the pitch shift as well. I’m surprised nobody seems to encounter this issue since all the info I can find that related to this topic are four post from different forum and only one of them seems to have the same cause as mine which is this one: https://linustechtips.com/topic/1511291-trying-to-deal-with-gpu-coil-whine-in-microphone-audio/ Spec list if that helps: CPU: 5950x MOBO: ROG Strix B550-E GPU: Inno3D iCHILL X4 3080Ti PSU: Cooler Master V1200 Platinum 1200W Case: Fractal Design Define 7 XL Black TG Audio Interface: MOTU M4 (Podmic connected to mic in 1) XLR cable: Third Party MOGAMI 2534 with Neutrik connectors I tried using an in line mic preamp, and switching XLR cables, didn’t affect the noise at all. So the noise must be introduced on the mic, not the cable or the audio interface. It’s not audible to human ears (except GPU’s physical coil whine), so it must be EMI. It’s not affecting my AT2020 which is a condenser mic, so it must have something to do with how dynamic mics work.

First of all, thanks for taking the time to read my request! As the title says, we need some mic recommendations. My girlfriend and I have a shared gaming room, and when we're on Discord, we can hear ourselves through each other's microphones. We're wondering if there are specific microphone types or settings that might help minimize this issue. Our current setup is: - AT2040 with a Behringer U-Phoria UMC22 - HyperX Solocast. We are sitting side by side with a separation of 1.5 meters. We haven't decided on the budget yet, but an approximate 500 to 600 USD max for each of us.

I've been looking to upgrade my streaming setup recently. I have a budget of 250€ with a MAX of 300€. I recently saw the elgato Wave DX on sale for 85~ euro and I'm considering going for it. I do have a few issues and questions I'd like to know about more about first however. TDLR; Is the wave DX good for deepish voices, should I match it with a non-elgato interface to fit my budget/what interface, do I go for something else like a podmic or at2020? :D 1. I've been told it's not the ~best~ for deeper voices, with it having a 50hz+ pickup compared to others in the same bracket like the podmic having a 20hz+, the dx also apparently has a very tailored curve for good mids. How bad/good is it really for deeper voices? 2. I can't fit both the 1st party arm and the wave interface within my budget. Is it worth missing the elgato software (which I've heard is a crazy good value) and going for something cheaper and less sleek like the focusrite scarlett solo 3rdgen? Or if any of you have another good 100€(ish) interface, I mean I wouldn't mind one with 2-3 buttons for soundboards or a build in eq. Also I know some mics, like the podmic loses alot of it's value when it's not used with the rodcaster, at least some people have said they struggle with the podmic output volume when they use a third-party interface (at least without an inline amp), does the DX struggle with that too? 3. Do I go for another mic entirely? I've looked quite hard at the options, of course the at2020 is a basically unbeatable value option BUT I personally don't like the look of it. Which for is important to me since it'll be seen on camera and I just like having a good looking thing in my face. I also looked at the t.bone mb7 beta on thomann which has some decent looking bundles within my budget but finding video reviews of it is really difficult since it's not exactly a widely bought mic. Thanks for reading... tho I doubt many people did but thanks!:D

I got a new Blue Logitech GX Microphone (Yeti GX) and I connected it. It works in everything but Discord calls. It will work in the Discord mic check, if I pull up OBS and talk it will record my voice, I can use it on zoom, or any game with voice chat, I checked if I was server muted, muted myself, and nothing. I go to discord Mic playback and I can hear it, except in calls(like ive said). Any idea how to fix?

Hey everybody, I was using discord yesterday with some friends, and, out of nowhere my mic stopped working. I tried everything I know, I updated my drivers and also rolled them back, I disabled and enabled the mic from device admin, tried switching from rear to front panel, tried another mic just to check and it also didn´t work. In one of my tries, when I disabled and enabled the device it started to work as normal but it got cutoff again after 5 seconds, and everytime I test the mic I only hear static and sometimes my voice but also after a couple of seconds it cuts off to silence. I looked through the internet and have encountered people who have the same problem but solved it updating the drivers. My motherboard is a gigabyte H470M H and my headset is a Hyperx cloud stinger. Oh, and I tried switching some things from the realtek interface but it doesn´t really change anything. I hope somebody has an idea of what the problem is or at least some solution, I´d be very thankful for it.

The audio from it sounds kinda robotic and i can barely hear myself. The louder i speak, the more you can hear it. The weird part is, the microphone sounds fine on my friends pc, and its also been working for the past 3-4 years normally. There had been no windows updates in the time it broke (about 2-3 days). I reinstalled the audio and usb drivers (i hope i did that correctly) and i dont know what to do now. I tried looking into audio settings, stuff like windows auto repair tool and such. And for the microphone it says "no nest information available/no information about socket" (something along this lines, my translation may be a lil messy), and in the information about the controller it gives me a hyperlink to "C-MEDIA Inc." and i am almost sure that before, there was something different there. I attached the audio file to show how it sounds. Any help is appreciated. (I'm also sorry in advance for my poor engish, i'm not an native speaker.) (Windows 11) Hey, okay so a really odd issue. I have recently gotten this super weird issue with my microphone. It started today when I was going into a VC call a friend on discord, but my microphone wasn't picking up any signals. I checked discord settings and the correct mic was checked off, but when I tried using the discord mic check no like audio bars showed up. I then wen't into windows settings and saw that my mic is being recognized as a microphone, but in windows settings also when i test it no like things happen. It says 0% audio recognized. I have tried uninstalling discord, and reinstalling. Downloaded new drivers for my microphone. Connected it in and out of the USB port. The even weirder thing is, I tried using my headset microphone (HyperX Cloud Alpha Wireless) because windows also recognizes it's microphone, but same issue there, no signals is coming through. After another reset of computer, this time plugging out the power cable from PSU and waited 1 minute, I tried again, and this time i got signals both in windows settings and discord. When I tried joining call again, both windows and discord stopped recognizing any audio input from both microphones. I am at a complete loss for what could have happened. It all worked perfectly fine even yesterday! Some other information that i dont know if relevant. I just buildt my new PC this last weekend, but like I said I have used both discord and gotten microphone signals this whole week. I also got a new WiFi at home yesterday, but after that I also used Discord with no issues (I thought maybe something like a security thingy stopped like communication or something via the wifi idk :=) Does anyone know anything I can do?

I'm looking to get a Rode PodMic or a HyperX Quadcast X as a replacement of my current Razer Seiren Mini. I'm finding it pretty hard to find some good comparisons of the 2 mics online so I thought I'd ask here. Thanks in advance

I mean before purchasing, one option is to look it up on YouTube, but is there any other way? So far, with my next to zero knowledge I've come to the following conclusion: Less than 50 bucks = microphones pickup background noise easily Higher than 50 bucks = microphones do not pickup much background noise I highly doubt this is accurate, but it's what I have seen from videos

Hi The microphone from my headset only produces static noises. Nothing else. The rest of the headset works fine, just the microphone. Headset is plugged into pc via UGreen 20899 3.5mm Female to Audio+Mic Male Audio Splitter. It stopped working when I removed it to plug in my new mouse, it worked perfectly fine before that. Already removed and installed and updated drivers. Already tried a different splitter Already tested headset with other PC, worked fine. Tested with rear and front audio jack, same problem Tested with all audio effects turned off Specs of PC: Asus TUF B550-Plus (BIOS Ver. 3002) Ryzen 7 5700X 16 GB Mushkin Redline RGB Ram 3200Mhz Mushkin 512 GB SSD ID Cooling FrostFlow 240 AIO Montech Air 1000 Premium Chassis Deepcool 700W PSU MSI RTX 3060 ti Logitech G502 Hero mouse Asus TUF Mechanical keyboard LG Ultragear GN650-B (via displayport) Dell SE2419H (via HDMI) JBL Quantum 100 Wired Over-Ear Gaming Headset With Detachable Mic Windows 11 23H2 I have checked other forums, but in all cases the mic was already working but produced static in the background or it was faulty cables. In my case I have tested my products on other PC, and it worked.

I've recently been wanting to purchase a new microphone for my general content creation purposes, My current microphone is the NT-USB even though it's a good mic I feel like it isn't upto the standards that'd I'd like anymore. My budget for a microphone would be around 400USD (I live in Australia so around 600AUD) the top priority is voice quality, second priority being backround noise removal as I do have a mechancial keyboard. Any and all suggestions are appreciated!

This crack has recently been forming on my Arctis Pro Wireless headset though I thought nothing of it and continued using them but today the headset apparently had enough of my use and broke at the connection between the earpiece and the part of the headphones that goes on my head(Pictured below: "diagram" and actual picture of my headset). I've superglued this piece for now but now that I've seen how dirty these headphones have become I'm thinking of getting a new headset: The choices I've looked at are: just get a new pair of these headphones(Arctis Pro Wireless) as my current ones were given to me a few years ago: $249.99 as of 11/13/23 or maybe something that will last such as the DT 990 Pros as I've seen some creators I watch use them: $150 as of 11/13/23 but additional cost concerns are listed below My only concerns with getting something such as the DT 990 Pros is the additional cost of an amp, and separate microphone as I just use the built-in mic with the Steel Series My budget would be around $350 including the DT 990 Pros but I'm open to other options. Also need considerations for amp and separate mic if i were to go with the DT 990 Pros or something similar please help fellas i'd be fine using these headphones until they truly break but maybe its time for an upgrade ALSO WILLING TO WAIT FOR BLACK FRIDAY DEALS Thanks for reading and any help

Yesterday with the help of @Ramamataz managed to eq my mic and headphones at the same time. Today I started to wonder, what are the best settings (EQ and so own) for the microphone to get good sound out of it? Would appreciate any help and a good advice I was thinking of getting podcast-like quality (as strange as it may sounds)

My headset microphone no longer registers my voice on my PC. I tried using the microphone on my spare laptop and it worked so I doubt the problem is with my headset. already updated the drives and did the last Windows update, and when I try replaying the microphone voice on Realtek or discord I get a weird static noise

So I just got a new job working in a company's marketing department that previously ignored marketing all together. We're trying to push out more content to social media, and the equipment to do so is currently lacking. I would love some suggestions on all gear related to video creation. So cameras, lighting, sound, and anything else I could be missing. There isn't really a budget, but I don't think we need RED camera level quality just something that would look professional on socials. Max budget for everything would probable be around $3-5k Thanks! [Edit: For context, this is a SaaS company just looking to promote the product to more customers. For now, we're looking to just shoot around the office and some short testimonials and Q&A's to post to Youtube, LinkedIn, Instagram etc. I do want to be able to bring this equipment along to any conferences we will be at to shoot B-rolls or any substantial content. The marketing team is brand new, which is why I don't have a lot of context so, apologies. I am familiar with some camera equipment I've used DSLRs and mirrorless cameras in the past. But based on the equipment we already have in the office, it seems like 1-2 of us would actually know how to use any future equipment we buy]

Hello, me and my girlfriend have desks right next to each other and that means whenever I want to talk with someone on Discord, everyone can hear her as well. Right now I am using a built in mic from my laptop. I was hoping to solve this issue with as low cost as possible. Any microphone recommendations?

I recently got a custom built computer for my kid. The port for the headphones is working perfectly and I plugged his speakers into it. As for his mic, he uses his headset as his main mic because we currently can't afford to buy him a real mic (just for now). If you're wondering the headset is a Razer Kraken headset. The problem is that the headset is recognized as a mic but no sound is picked up from it except for background noises such as: hitting the desk, whenever the headset bangs against something or his chair moving around. Basically it picks up everything but his voice. We've tested it out with another mic and another pair of earbuds, the same thing happens. How can I get his headset to pick up his voice?

So I will be moving some time soon (within the next year) and I want to get myself a new setup which ensures privacy. I record videos and stream every now and then, though I do also have interest in singing, which I would like to try out in my new home. Do you have recommendations for acoustic panels which ensure privacy by not letting sound escape the room, but also ensure audio quality? I live in Germany, so our walls are pretty thick to begin with, but still. Are there also some microphone recommendations? I don't have a specific budget, but I'd like the things to not be expensive if they don't have to be. I've tried looking through websites, YouTube reviews and Amazon pages, though I don't really have an expertise in audio, so I don't really know what to look for. Any help is appreciated!
