Hello I am posting this in hope to fix my keyboard layout. I have currently an US international layout on my keyboard and it worked fine up until a few weeks ago. Windows 10 seem to have suddenly desided that US international is no longer the same as before. It suddenly stoped reacting to the right alt on my keyboard for the special characters. It still detects the keys but it just doesn't do anything with them. I currently am using the mhu/micro symbol a lot which is supposed to be under the key combination m + right alt, but nothing happens when I type it. It also does not matter in which program I am working. I already tried changing the layout away from us international and back but still nothing. Does anyone know a possible solution for it? Long story short I'm trying to use Macrium Reflect to clone the SSD my Windows install is on to a new M.2 drive. The first 3 partitions clone fine, but the Windows partition fails due to "MFT corrupt - Error code = 6" chkdsk appears unable to resolve the issue. I've tried putting the system into recovery mode and running bootrec /fixmbr from CMD but this comes back with the error "the system cannot find the file specified" what can I try now?

I have being using Macrium Reflect (imaging and restoring images) to allow me to get Windows, Ubuntu, settings configured and software installed on many computers quickly and efficiently. Thus far, I have created 1 image for each model of computer I have worked on. For example, HP 14-bs077tx one image and another image created for HP 14-am102tx. To create an image for a model, I would start with installing Windows on a wiped drive. Between models, for example, a ThinkPad laptop and an OptiPlex desktop, there will be many differences to the hardware. Can I just use 1 image between the 2 model of computers and just uninstall all hidden devices in device manager followed by installing drivers for the uncommon hardware? Or is it more recommended to continue to take the effort to create 1 image for each model of computer? I previously experienced having a solid state drive where during the day, it would be used in a laptop at school and at night used in a desktop at home. I encountered no issues with OS stability but the SSD did die quickly. Although not sure if this was because of the use case or if it was just a bad SSD.

dear forumers, first of all let me excuse with you if other (or many other) topics have already been posted on the same subject. I haven't found anything among the pinned posts so I thought I'd write something to explain my specific situation; which is very simple btw and will require hopefully no effort to be addressed from you experts. As you can see in my signature, I currently have a 500Gb ssd, which is filling up really fast, since I produce approximately 1Gb/day of video clips. I have bought an additional 4 Tb Wd CMR HDD (WD40EFRX) which I have mounted but not initialized yet and that I plan to use as a backup unit. along with the video clips: I need to backup other types of files as well: mostly documents, itunes folders and pictures of course. (I still have GDrives and Dropbox of course). Additionally I would like to produce periodical backups of windows 10 as well, those which are called system images if I understand correctly. Now, first things first: most of you are already typing something like: "hey, if that your usage you can't rely on one "small" hdd unit only: you need at least SIX of them with external NAS and ultra mega raid-what-the-heck-yeah" yeah: I simply don't have the money now. So that's what I have and that's what I need to deal with. So, if anyone wants to help me, help me with this. Now, the point is: I would like to have automatic backups. I have noticed -correct me if I am wrong- that Whatsapp performs some kind of incremental of differential backup, not just a simple full backup: I would like to have someting similar. I have no problem spending some money to buy a license for a designated software who does that, as long as it is effective and really autonomous. Then, in the end: I would like to understand which configuration would be better for my case: is it better to create multiple partitions or just one is good (like I hope)? so, to sum it up: - automatic periodic backups of specified folders; - manual backups of windows image from time to time; - all in one isk for the moment (I could buy an additional one in the future). is there a software for this? thanks

I've recently purchased a Samsung 860 Evo 1 TB solid state drive. I've successfully installed the product, in hopes that I could migrate some data from my old ssd to this new one. I used you're program and unfortunately I keep getting error coded, I've gone through many forums and help sites, but none have given me a solution. I've applied many of these methods and techniques but nothing has been fixed, I keep receiving the message, "Clone Failed - Error 0, Failed to Create Volume Snapshot. Result Code: 0x8004231f, Clone failed - Error 0 - Unable to match partition - Drive 1. Start Sector 233517056. (image attached) I only wish to migrate all my files from my current SSD (Samsung 850 EVO 120 GB) to my new 1 TB one. If I could receive some assistance, advice or tips I would greatly appreciate it. I am trying to clone my C drive from an M.2 to a new bigger M.2 and when I change the drive size, when I boot from it I get an error but when I don't change the size so it's an exact clone it works fine. What can I do?

Hi All, I bought a SSD for my msi laptop to move windows to it so it would load faster, i used macrium reflect and as i was copying it it said clone failed error 9, as i went to disk management my ssd is no longer showing. Any help? Thanks

Hi all, I recently got an M.2 Drive and when I turn on my PC with my HDD plugged in it takes me into the boot loop "G:\Recovery\WindowsRE\Winre.wim\System32\Logfiles\Srt\SrtTrail.txt" . When I messed around in there before it never took me into windows 10, it always brought me into a boot loop starting with that page. The only way out of that boot loop is to turn off my PC, open my PC case, unplug my HDD and restart my PC. When I load it all up again with my M.2 Drive it then takes me to the bios but it does not detect my M.2(but when I click save and exit it works so i guess that's okay?) and when I click save and exit it shows another screen saying "Choose your operating system" and the 2 options are Windows 10 and Macrium Reflect , I used that to move Windows 10 to my M.2 from my HDD. Then it works as it should be, just without my HDD and when I plug in my HDD back into my PC and restart it doesn't do that boot loop if I am lucky. All in all, I want to load up my PC with my M.2 without having to do this every time. I don't really know what to do. The M.2 I use is the WD Blue SN550 500GB NVMe Internal SSD - Gen3 x4 PCIe 8Gb/s, M.2 2280, 3D NAND, Up to 2,400 MB/s - WDS500G2B0C off of Amazon The HDD I use is WD Blue 1TB Desktop Hard Disk Drive - 7200 RPM SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache 3.5 Inch - WD10EZEX - OEM off of Newegg. If it helps, my other specs are 32GB 3200 MHZ RAM , Nvidia GTX 1070 Founders Edition , ASUS X99-DELUXE II LGA 2011-v3 ATX Motherboard (Renewed) , EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G2 220-G2-0850-XR 80+ GOLD 850W Fully Modular EVGA ECO Mode Includes FREE Power On Self Tester Power Supply and Intel Core i7-5820K Haswell-E 6-Core 3.3 GHz LGA 2011-v3 140W BX80648I75820K Desktop Processor.

After cloning an HDD into another, the recipient of the process became 3000% slower at read speeds while write speeds were unaffected (CrystalDisk Mark 6 was used to obtain these values). Before cloning it would give me an avarage 96-99 MB/s reads and now its giving me 2-4 MB/s, I've been reading everything I can to try solve my issue but I'm getting worried my HDD has been permanently damaged. Macrium Reflect's support answer was basically it's not our fault and you're a free user, so here are some basic obvious tips like its some software that is causing it to be slow, the usual it's the cables or ports, and using dispark to perform a clean and if that doesn't work go take it to the repair shop. It was working perfectly fine, I cloned a hard drive that had a Windows 10 and a steam library with some games on it, and instanteanously it was slow, uber slow. I tried formatting it and re-installing just Windows, that didn't work as it was as slow as you would expect from the before mentioned speeds. I tried performing a standard format that took over 48h and didn't work, lefting my HDD now on a RAW state that I cannot get past as I now get a CRC error when trying to use a diskpart clean on it, I might've f***ed it up a bit more with the standard format, but I don't think it take a computer expert to know that it was Macrium Reflect that made my hard drive slow. So please, I'm sure there are plenty of computer experts lurking around here so please someone help me get my hard drive back to normal because the people that did this don't want to.

So I got a 240gb SSD, and am planning to put it in my desktop. However, I'm not sure what cloning software to use. My hard drive has less than 240GB worth of data on it right now so it won't be a problem that I can't clone it over. I want to use free software. What is a good one? I've used Macrium Reflect before, and the clone has worked fine, but when I checked the space used the space used on the SSD was always lower than that of the hard drive, which I always founded strange. Is that a problem, or is it fine to use Macrium Reflect. As well, why is this so? Thanks.
