Hi, I use Lumion 3d rendering software for my college work, I never faced this problem on my earlier GT640 but that card used to take ages to render, Recently i got an AMD RX580 MSI armored edition 8gb, Problem that i face is opening and running lumion works fine, But as soon as i click on render the screen goes black and gpu fans ramp up to 100%, with so sign on activity going on. GPU temps are under 70 before clicking render and even after stress testing the gpu i havent faced any instability, got score of 1.45k on heaven benchmark can anyone help me with this ? thanks in advanced SPECS- i5- 7400 with cooler master hyper 212 led 8gb 3000 mhz ddr4 ram (corsair vengence) Cooler master 700watt power supply MSI rx 580

Hi! I am from India and building a pc for rendering and will use lumion. Here, the price of rtx 2060 and Rx 6600xt is almost the same and I am having a hard time which one to get. I won't be gaming at all and it will be mostly used for rendering in lumion. I would be really thankful if someone can suggest me which one to get.

Hello guys!, I thank you in advance for the help. In my office we are looking to buy new computers for 4 architects that use and will use the following softwares: Autodesk Revit 2017 Autdesk Autocad 2017 Autodesk Naviswork 2017 Autodesk 3DsMax 2017 Autodesk 3D Civil Adobe Photoshop CS6 Adobe Illustrator CS6 Adobe Indesign CS6 Lumion 7 Artlantis 6 SIG For this functions, we use to works several 3D models of more than 40.000 m2 that could be easily 4-10 gb of 1 single file and more than 25 files linked to it. I have this draft of what we should buy in order to work in a nice workflow(since we work with a server) GPU:Intel XEON (16 cores - 32 threats - 45 MB Caché)Video Card:Nvidia Quadro M6000Ram:64 GB de RAM Storage:SSD 512 GBDisplays:2 ASUS Display of 21' So, here is the questions about what I need. Should we use Intel XEON or a good i7 with overclock over 4.0? Should we use a Nvidia Quadro(since Quadro are officials for Revit) or should I go for unofficial Titan? Thanks in Advance.

Hey everyone, I'm currently a Landscape Architecture student with a few years left of undergrad and graduate school ahead of me. We use a wide range of programs from AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, Sketchup, Rhino, Lumion, Unity and Unreal Engine. The last two I'll be getting into this year with VR becoming a big part of our industry and being chosen to participate in a one week VR boot camp. I've been doing a lot of research in the past few months about these programs and what benefits them. From some programs favoring higher clock speeds, others favoring more cores, faster single thread performance, higher RAM speeds, and GPU's it's gotten a little confusing. I'll throw it out there I've never built a PC before but I feel I've gotten quite a good understanding. From understanding motherboard chipsets, vrms, nvme and m.2, etc. I've got a good understanding of everything that goes into a build. I guess the hardest part is picking the best hardware. I'm definitely open to any opinions you all have as I'm sure most of you have first hand experience with these programs how different hardware performs respectively. So please leave any recommendations down below. My goals for my build are: Budget CPU Cooler Motherboard RAM Storage GPU Case Power Supply Thanks for taking the time to read all of this! I'd love to hear any feed back or tips with the best hardware for these programs. Cheers

Hi, i would like to know if blender and Lumion use the same algorithm for renders( i don't know how to describe so i just assume is all like an algorithm), because much of the test are made on 3d mark\blender, so i get in mind maybe i can use the blender test to have a comparison with lumion. Thanks guys, have a nice day.

Hi i would like to ask someone help, I would like to build a workstation that would be for: Revit [i know that it use high single core performance but also multi but for less thing, also as much ram i can buy] Autocad [is near the same but it need's more ram] Dynamo[i don't know, it's a plugin fo revit] Sketchup [is a mix of cpu and gpu i can choose what it should use] Photoshop[ i know ram but don't know if single or multi core] Sap2000[ use all core high frequency and full speed ram] Lumion [ gpu and cpu mix] 3Dzephyr[ cuda cores, and i think multi core high frequency] OBS Premiere Studio I would like to play some games 4k if it is possible because, i thought that if i get a workstation maybe it can play even games high prestation. My budget would be about 1200 i can get 1500 if would help to increase much more prestation,( i'm in EU but the price are similar).

hello so I recently bought a rx 570 which was an upgrade from my existing gtx 1050ti and was wondering if I could use both for rendering scenes in lumion like animations and stuff or would that not work. Second question is that does lumion support open gl or CL rendering where the cpu and gpu work together because I also recently bought a Intel xeon e5-2687w v3 for my workstation and was wondering if I would be able to use all of it's 10 cores for rendering as well as my graphics card or both of them if possible. sorry this is a loaded post but if you could assist that would be be very helpful

Budget (including currency): EURO 2000-2500. But with that we also need some peripherials Country: The Netherlands Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mostly Lumion, also some other drawing/designing Autocad, revit, sketchup, and maybe a little gaming. I do have experience with building 600-1000 euro gaming pc's. But with this budget, and the work thats going to be done on the pc i wanted some more advice. Other details Within the budged we also need some peripherials, mostly a good monitor. Im building the PC for a friend and he is totally new to high end pc's. So there is no need to get him the best gaming mouse, headset, keyboard etc. I think the best way to spend his budget is around 2000 euro's for the pc, and the other 500 for a nice monitor and some other peripherials. Also im in doubt on what to do with the GPU, since the 3000 series are unavailable at the moment, but i think its a waste to buy something like a 2080 now. I also showed him some minimalist, non rgb pc's, and some clean, not over the top rgb builds. He liked the clean (not over the top) rgb builds more so eastathics is also something to keep in mind. This is my first ever post here so i hope i did it right, and im looking forward to your advice

Noob building a pc for 3D modeling/rendering
white_tiger15 posted a topic in New Builds and Planning
Budget (including currency): 3,500$ -4,000$ USD Country: Puerto Rico Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Lumion, Revit, Blender,Other Autodesk programs Mainly will be used though games will be played from time to time. Ive been jumping from site to site and forums trying to figure out a way to build a pc properly that can withstand and run my programs with ease, especially with Lumion. Until now i got this done in Origin since it will give me everything in one place; Case : MILLENNIUM Chassis Side Panels : Tempered Glass-Aluminum Interior Lighting : ORIGIN PC RGB Lighting Processors : AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 12-Core 3.8GHz (4.6GHz Max Boost) Motherboard : ASUS ROG CROSSHAIR VIII HERO WiFi Memory : 32GB CORSAIR VENGEANCE 3000MHz (2x16GB) System Cooling : CORSAIR H100i PRO XT RGB Case Fans : ORIGIN PC Maximum Fan Kit Graphics Cards : NVIDIA 11GB GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Founder's Edition GPU : 1 Operating System : MS Windows 10 Home Hard Drive Cage : 5 Bay Hard-Drive Cage Operating System Drive : 500GB Samsung 970 EVO Plus PCIe NVMe M.2 RAID : No RAID Hard Drive : 1TB Seagate BarraCuda SSD Hard Drive : 1 Power Supply : CORSAIR 850X RMX SERIES PLUS GOLD PSU Power Supply Sleeved Cable : No Sleeved Cable Audio : Integrated High-Definition Audio Networking : Onboard Network Port Now all this look fine but i dont know if its going to be efficient or even work. Tips about all of this is greatly appreciated. This PC wil be my precious and will be essential for my studies in architecture. P.S. first time posting in a forum, if i put it in the wrong place or something do tell. -
Shopping for laptops that can serve as portable workstations is painful. Especially when you're not the one who's going to end up using them - and you have some specific requirements. So here's why I'm here! A friend of mine, who's an interior designer, wants to get a portable (workstation) laptop (max. 2000 EUR) for the following: AutoCAD Sketchup Revit (Puget link too) Lumion Since I've never used them before, I had a look at the recommended specs, all hyperlinked. With the exception of Lumion, GPU doesn't seem super important. Laptop GPU's at this price point are trash imho, except for the 2060. I haven't included Quadro's* Laptops I've found that I deem worthy of a buy have the following specs (prices are in EUR): 1. i7-9750H & 2060 - 2K 2. i7-10710U & 1660 - 1.7K 3. i7-10510U & MX 250 - 1.5K (not so much, honestly) I was thinking of looking at the Studio / Creator laptops, but those are over 2K EUR, same as older workstation laptops. I am still curious to see what recommendations you have, even at a 2.5K EUR budget, perhaps my friend can make the extra step, since the laptop will produce money (no shots fired, gamers). Let me know what recommendations you have and drop some laptop models. Please use US (good for reference), NL or DE websites. * The person wants the laptop to be light and portable and the laptops equipped with Quadro's weren't light, nor particularly cheap (in The Netherlands / Germany). I did find some Quadro P620 laptops, but those don't seem to be great performers. ** Revit (and Puget) both make the case for Quadro cards and Revit offers official support for Quadro P2000 cards, so it really drives me nuts I can't find something under 2K with those specs around here.

Hello All, I've been doing some research on what the Best Build for an Architect would be and surprisingly enough, I really haven't found any professional advice or concrete information about this. Linus has yet to create a video with the focus on Architecture so here I am. Really hoping to get some solid advice from some pros. So Far: Most of the build logs and build tutorials on the web relate do VIDEO EDITING which we all know is very different to 3d rendering and Architecture Programs. Programs I will be using: Revit, AutoCad: Architecture, Lumion 3D, Rhino 3D, 3ds MAX. Some thoughts and inner questions I have so far and would really need some feedback on: I know that for this build and for the Above Software, the most important component will be the CPU as they do Run on that for both real-time editing and rendering[with the exception of Lumion 3D which uses GPU but can happily work with my GTX card without making a fuss and asking for WS-grade GPUs]. What CPU do you think would be best? I hear many people talking about the Xeon Series from Intel but I know that they update those series once in an eon and I don't know if it's worth the costs as I will not be Rendering 24/7/365. Is the 6-core Intel 5th Gen ok? Will the 8-core actually be worth paying the difference? Ram: I know that I don't need nearly as much as a Video Editing Build. So I would say around 16/32 Ram will do the job ?? GPU: While most programs don't use the GPU, I would still like to have a Medium-High GPU for Lumion and any other possible software that might come out... Was thinking GtX 980? Or will 970 be just perfect?. MONITOR: PLEASE ADVISE - Don't want to spend more than £300/400 on it. Should I aim for 4K? Or Architecture Specialized Monitors? I'm afraid those will be 2x the price of a 4k. TOTAL £1600.00 [ I think this is around $1900 in terms of Computer Parts Price Differences - they seem to calculate the currency too much in their favour here in the UK]. Really looking forward for your suggestions not just for what I've posted above, but for ANYTHING related to this Architecture Build Topic. Any input is welcome! I would really be GREAT if Linus did a video on this Build. Would really love to see that and so will thousands of other Architects following. Regards,
