Hey there, me and some friends want to (gift) our friend a pc, or rather some money which he can use in order to buy and build a pc. Up until now he was playing on some old MSI Gaming Laptop which was always overheating so I feel like most things will be a great upgrade for him. Anyways since he is not that tech-savvy we want to "give him a suggestion build", which we think would fit him however I wanted to ask if there might be some improvements or anything since I only watch the LTT and LMG videos however don't build or shop a lot of pcs myself ^^ Budget (including currency): ~600 € Country: Germany Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mostly gaming, otherwise broad general usage like watching streams, listening to music etc.. Games include League of Legends, Valorant, Teamfight Tactics, Overwatch 2 Other details Here is the build I have come up with so far and which I want to ask some questions about (it's just an edited version of the budget amd build pcpartspicker offers). (My settings are on Germany it seems like some parts are not available in the US fyi) https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/HwrrPX - Most notably the build doesn't include a gpu (yet). Since Gpus are quite expensive and in gameslike League they are not that important which is definetly the main game of my friend. Furthermore I was wondering whether it made sense to buy new gpus in the current state of the market. However are there any recommendations in the 100-150€ category maybe even for looking on the second hand market. And where would one look ? As a german I'd think Ebay ("Kleinanzeigen") is the place to go however maybe there are better options. - The cpu is a year old which I was wondering about. Probably it's worth since it might be a bit cheaper that way and the nice thing is that it has included graphics so the friend could use the pc without at gpu at first and then look for some time for a fitting gpu. Furthermore as far as I know budget usually means amd however I might be mistaken so feel free to correct me on that or suggest another cpu (from intel or also amd) - The cooler is from cooler master since I have been using one for some years and it seems like a cheap reputable brand. It also seems to fit in the case (as far as I can tell) so that's that - The Motherboard is the suggested one I'd really like to get some input on that. I don't know the brand so I am not really sure. And also what would it cost to get a wifi module or rather a motherboard with onboard wifi. I feel like there are some better options in this category which I don't know about so feel free to suggest any fitting similar motherboards. - The Storage and RAM seem like a nobrainer, Crucial seems pretty reputable as well as G Skill and they are the cheapest options as far as I can tell (as far as I can tell the NVME m.2 drive I chose is compatible with the motherboard, otherwise please correct me on that ^^) - The case is the somewhat cheap option I found which doesn't look horrible. The suggested one from pcpartspicker is the Fractal Design Focus G which I really dislike the looks of, so I went for this one. If there is anything similar or opinions on the case feel free to suggest something again since this is not my territory of any expertise either. - The last thing is the power supply. I went for SeaSonic (since LTT always praises them and they seem very reputable and worth it). However the question is whether a 500W or a 650W power supply would be the one to go for. For one the 500W one is only bronce rated (whatever that means specifically) and the bigger question is expandability. Since a 650 W power supply gives more headroom for expansion. However maybe 650W is a bit much since the estimated wattage of the build on pcpartspicker is currently 160W and more than 340W for a Gpu seems like a lot, however I don't know. Thank you in advance for any tips. As mentioned above this is kind of a budget build however we would like to suggest a build to our friend which leaves some room for expandability and is somewhat worth and usable for some time to come (hopefully) Best wishes, Raoul

Hey guys, I'm still new here and i watch LTT a lot from youtube channel. From that experience I feel interested on building my own PC, but as the first world problem to do things is about budget. I still wondering what-to-buy-1st.. Suddenly i come up with this idea. Is it worth to buy a upper class motherboard like Asus z170A or even z270? And I planning to buy intel i5 6600k and GTX 1060 for graphic card. NB: This is my first attempt to build

Hey guys, So a few months ago I came to you for advice regarding a budget gaming laptop and ended up with the Lenovo Y700. I'm very happy with it, it satisfies my gaming needs, and I feel like it's an overall great purchase for a tight budget. Now I'm back with a new request. I'm looking for a very low budget laptop that I can use for surfing the web, reading and writing documents, and watching videos. It's especially important to be able to hook up one extra monitor, in order to run either a duplicate display or 2 screens at the same time (but for the same purposes). Any suggestions? Thank you in advance.

Hello Guys, I was thinking a lot about buying an eGPU for my Macbook I use now, a newer powerful Macbook with integrated GPU or a low budget gaming PC in this order. CONTEXT Actually I am using a MacBook Pro 13" early 2015 lowest configuration. I was able to play LoL and CS:GO (not anymore because of lower FPS how ever that came to be). Since I banned consoles out of my home to use only one System I decided to get a more powerful device where I can play Battlefield. I tried the eGPU solution but it didn't work well with my actual Macbook. So I thought of buying the newest 15" Macbook + eGPU. That can't happen yet. I am waiting for the new upcoming MacBooks. I know MacBooks are expensive, pc have better performance for less money bla bla bla, but I am still going to stay with Macbook since they are the one of the best portable and durabel workstations and I love the OSX so much ( even the bootcamp solution is awesome ). GAMING As I said the only game I would play on PC would be Battlefield and COD (Cod more less). I used to play games a lot but nowadays I am not like that anymore. Now I would play very rarely by occasions. In summer I would play more less like maximum 3 hours In a week in a month less than 10 hours maybe. I had a break for over 1 1/2 years. Sometimes I felt like " I want to play Battlefield for a few minutes" This is why I decided to play again. Since I don't play that much anymore I didn't want to buy a pc just for that. But I think I decided otherwise. Even when I buy a new Macbook 15" anyways , I don't want to burn the integrated GPU that fast. If it won't happen by my playtime it would be great to know. I kind of think it is a dumb idea to buy a pc just for that. A Laptop (which I use anyways) would be enough. But I don't want to reduce a MacBooks lifetime by playing battlefield even if it is less than 10 hours a month and even more less in summertimes. the PC would be covered in dust most of the times. I don't want the PC to be high end. I just want to play Battlefield in HD or FHD (not interested into 2.5k or 4k) in max. High Settings (never on low ! ) about 45 fps and up. BUDGET under 400€ maybe this would be a very low Budget for my preference in settings (battlefield) but I saw some builds with APU. Like AMD Ryzen 2200G which could handle Battlefield on its own if it is cooled right. Would this be the best solution for me? Can I even upgrade the 300-400€ APU build with GPU's? What do you think of eGPU and new Macbook combo in my situation? I wouldn't start the PC that much. The Plug&Play eGPU solution would fit the best in my case I guess. What are your thoughts

Upgrading low budget old (2011) Laptop
Jhon4LTTForum posted a topic in Laptops and Pre-Built Systems
Hello, My cousin will get an old low budget Laptop, an Toshiba Satellite c660d-19x psc1ye-01u00mgr (AMD E-300, 320 GB Sata2 (3GBit/s) HDD, 2 GB DDR3 SDRAM - PC3-8500 - 1066 MHz). And I'm planing to help him getting it a bit up to speed. I was thinking about getting a bit more RAM and an SSD, as you do. The Ram I can get from Ebay, but here my first question starts. The CPU has a single channel memory controller, but the notebook has two Slots. I know that there can be issues with incompatible RAM and/or using two different sizes (only a problem in multichannel?). But as it has only single channel anyway, could I buy any 1066 MHz DDR3 SDRAM (sodimm)? Is it feasible to buy a 4GB Module and try for 6 but have at least 4 or is it more sensible to buy 2 GB and try to have 2 (original) + 2 extended? How much RAM do you need on a system this old? I certainly couldn't live with less than 8 anymore, but I don't think it would profit that much from tons of RAM... Next thing is the SSD. I'm thinking about the Kingston A400 (funnily the same LTT used in the cheaper gaming PCs) 120 or 240 (because it's 22€ vs 30€) It's a Sata2 connector. I found a few forum posts in German, which I will not bother to link, according to which the random read/write should be about the same. But then again, this CPU (weell, apu or whatever) is really quite weak chested. So I'm wondering whether it is worth the bother? This is my first post. I wasn't really sure where to post this if I got it wrong, please let me know. Also if I got anything completely wrong, please tell me, I'm always eager to learn. Thanks a lot for your help! Jhon -

I know that there's a lot of threads about low budget hi-fi earphones brands from China (let's call em Chi-fi) and my goal to this thread is to see if there are people in this community that are interested in such brands/products and are planning to invest in them. Brands like KZ, TRN, Hifiman, Dunu, Maya etc. with KZ being one of the most popular in the western market, according to my knowledge. Disclamer: I haven't tried all of the brands but I tried some of their product and most of them specially the high-end ones deliver enormous sound stage for me. Pros: Most of them are under 50 USD, very Cheap compared to highly named brands Some units are consists of Multiple Drivers, there are even some that has 5 DRIVERS per earpiece some of them has Detachable cable so you have the Modularity Sound quality is good for most of them, depending on your taste Good for entry level Audiophiles that don't wanna invest too much money. Cons: Build Quality is average, it's still a Chinese product with low named brands They only ship from China, you'd be lucky if you know someone that imports this kinds of stuff Most of them are In-ear earphones, because it's cheaper to manufacture Reply down if you have more to add to the topic, I'd be interested to see what you guys think and if you guys already have Chi-fi products you can reply the Unit and a mini-review of it.

Hello! I want to build a PC for my sister. She doesn't have a lot of money (around 400-500$) and I thought a pre-build PC would be a bad idea. She needs one which can run photoshop and similar programs. I made a part list and I need your advise if it is any good or total crap. CPU Intel Core i3-6100 3.7 GHz Dual-Core Processor - 110.99$ Is this CPU good enough for photo editing programs? CPU Cooler Cooler Master Hyper TX3 54.8 - 18.89$ Motherboard Asus B150M-A D3 Micro ATX LGA1151 - 70$ I know the motherboard is a very very weird choice and I think I need to explain why I chose it. I have some RAM left (Corsair Vengeance DDR3 8gb 2133 MHz) and on pcpartpicker.com it was the only mainboard compatible with this RAM and the CPU. Memory Corsair Vengeance DDR3 8gb 2133 MHz - 0$ Storage Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM - 47.79$ Case BitFenix Comrade ATX Mid Tower Case - 60$ I told my sister about RGB lighting in cases and because of that she wanted case with a window. Now this case isn't the best of its kind. Do you guys know a similiar, better case? Maybe cheaper? Power Supply EVGA SuperNOVA GS 550W - 72.98$ I think this PSU is overkill and a better suggestion would be nice. GPU Nvidia Gtx 560 4gb VRAM - 0$ I have this old grapic card lying around. Is it good enough for Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator? Optical Drive Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer - 16.88$ The total price would be around 400$,- I think that's it. If you have any advice please let me know. Or making a better, cheaper part list would be nice too. Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone, I have to build an office machine and came up with this. Unless there is a significant fuck-up with one of my parts - please don't change the whole system.
